On Friday, March 28th, a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar in Southeast Asia and was immediately followed by a powerful aftershock.
The earthquake has caused widespread damage throughout the region, forcing multiple families to evacuate their buildings due to the extensive damage and risk of collapse. The death toll is climbing steeply by the hour, and local health clinics and hospitals are struggling to care for the overwhelming number of injured survivors.
International Medical Corps is responding to this deadly crisis and is preparing to deploy an emergency medical team to the scene. With more than four decades of experience delivering medical care in disaster zones, we know what it takes to respond quickly and effectively.
International Medical Corps has previously responded to natural disasters in Myanmar, including cyclone Nargis, which left 130,000 people dead or missing. Nargis left more than two million people in urgent need of assistance, including food, shelter, medical care, water, and sanitation.
Your support can help bring urgently needed relief to survivors of this deadly earthquake today. By supporting this project or creating a giving opportunity of your own, you can make a lifesaving difference for affected families affected in Myanmar.
