IBC works to empower those suffering, ensuring that all people, regardless of their circumstances, are treated with respect and afforded the opportunities necessary for a better future.

From Crisis to Care, Together We Heal

IBC improves lives with a focus on emergency relief, sustainable development, and resilience in vulnerable communities. 

The IBC, International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation (IBC) was founded in 2000 to provide input in improving the lives of the people suffering, especially the most disadvantaged section of the world population. This initiative turned into a foundation, which is ofﬁcially registered to Turkish Laws and Regulation as NGO permitted for international activities with registration number 4820. 

IBC acts with impartiality in the belief that all people are created equal and have right to live with dignity, the right to shelter, nourish, have health care and proper standards of living. The IBC's worldwide work focuses on four core areas: Prevention → Mitigation → Preparedness → Response → Recovery → Reconstruction and Rehabilitation.

The vision of IBC is to alleviate human suffering, hunger, literacy among all people regardless of nationality, ethnicity, race, color, social origin, religion, belief, language, political opinion, gender, age, sexual orientation, genetic or physical features. 

The mission of IBC is to respond to the immediate and self-sustainability needs of people suffering due to wars, political conflicts, natural disasters and undeveloped economic conditions, supporting the community and particularly the most disadvantaged to achieve improved health and education; contributing to the sustainable development of underdeveloped regions and promoting equal opportunity and equality for women and girls. 

IBC believes that the best way to fulfill its mission is through collaboration with international, regional, national, and local donors, as well as universities and research centers, serving as the implementing agency for its programs and projects. The Foundation has in this respect established long-standing relationships with its international donors.

IBC is a member of ICVA International Council of Voluntary Agencies; on the 13th General Assembly held on March 2006, IBC was elected to the Board of Directors of the organization. Since July 2006 IBC has UN Economic and Social Council Special Consultant Status in order to contribute to the work of ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies in cooperation with other NGOs.  IBC is the first, one and only Turkish NGO awarded with Core Humanitarian Standard - CHS Certification. 

IBC has a Board of Founders that meets annually. It appoints a Board of Directors that ensures compliance with legal requirements and receives the audited accounts of the organization. The Directors provide an annual report of activities to the Board of Founders decide on internal regulations and determine employment conditions.  

IBC operates in the countries where it runs cross-border programs after completing the registration process. Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova are just a few examples of countries where this registration principle is applied.
