By and for Participants.
There are more than 40,000 Basic Income Pilot Participants in the United States. Many feel that participating in a pilot and receiving unconditional monthly cash was transformational to their lives. They are excited to share their experiences in meaningful, strategic ways to advance basic income in their communities and beyond.
A group of participants has designed and developed the Basic Income Solidarity Community Union - a space for participants to lean into their advocacy work, grow in community together and organize strategically to co-design policies and programs that lead the movement for basic income.
But community organizing the right way costs real money. Many pilot participants are already pushed to the margins of our economy, working multiple jobs and still struggling to make ends meet. Volunteer and advocacy work in the basic income space has to include stipends and community funds to ensure the work is not extractive or compounding our community's financial struggles.
Donate to the BISC Union today! And think about becoming a monthly donor.
A monthly gift functions like a basic income - it helps the union have confidence from one month to the next that a certain amount of money will be coming in so they can plan and strategize accordingly.
The BISC Union is about to launch! Help make this important coalition possible.
