Ait Sbaa Village Water Project
- Raised
- $450
- Goal
- $6,000
Help provide fresh water to over 300 people in rural Morocco in Memory of sister Nisaa Sayfullah.
This well project will benefit the people of Ait Sbaa, a village located in the province of Immouzer Kandar near Fes, Morocco. The well is to replace a collapsed well that served the community, along with a storage tank and distribution system. Since the collapse of the well the community lost their running water and the women in the community had to go fetch water everyday. Because of the nature of the geologic material a stainless steel screen is needed to reinforce the well. Due to this and the depth to water, the cost of completing the well, installing a pump and electricity source is over $12,000. About half of it is at hand .
It was decided that the remaining needed funds will be raised in memory of sister Nisaa Sayfullah who passed away from covid infection. Sr Nisaa served her community tirelessly and with extreme devotion. It is the wish of her husband Imam Fateen Sayfulah and her son Yahya that a water supply for a deserving community in Africa be established in her memory. Efforts were underway in Morocco and the project there was retained for this purpose
The project will provide 50 dwellings in the village by gravity, which will provide running water to 300 people.
