***Human Rights Education Now!***  is a podcast that aims to (1) inform a broader audience in the U.S. and internationally about human rights education (HRE) stories, practices, related issues and theories, (2) expand awareness and knowledge about HRE USA and its programs, and (3) engage partner individuals, groups and organizations in changing the conversation about rights in the U.S. to one employing a human rights education lens.

Our audience is anyone involved or interested in advancing human rights in the U.S. From institutional to grassroots settings, this includes educators in traditional learning spaces (i.e., schools) and other human rights professionals (i.e., counselors, public officials, activists) in various non-traditional settings (i.e., community, shelters, non-profit organizations). The content includes individual narratives of experienced HRE practitioners, theorists, scholars, students, and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) advocates.

HRE USA is a collaborative network to learn, teach, organize, advocate, and innovate for human rights education in the U.S.

Founded in 2011, Human Rights Educators USA (HRE USA) is a growing network dedicated to building a culture of human rights by providing an innovative forum for HRE practitioners and supporters to learn, network, and exchange professional expertise and better serve the HRE community. 

HRE USA is guided by the core human rights principles of human dignity, equality, and non-discrimination, within the [United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights](https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights). We believe that effective human rights education is transformative: it empowers individuals and communities and promotes the respect for and embodiment of these values in daily life.

To fulfill our mission, we work alongside our members and partners to build a national movement for human rights education, advocate for the integration of international human rights standards into educational systems and promote supportive national and regional policies. We aim to embed human rights education in curricula, teacher training, and pedagogy by developing resources for educators and contributing to research in the field.
