Human Rights Educators USA works to support its network members through professional development opportunities. One of the most extensive HRE USA learning opportunities is through our Training As Action Series (TAAS), now in its fourth year.
Human Rights Educators USA’s annual TAAS is a virtual training series focused on bridging personal and collective action on the critical human rights issues of today. TAAS creates an educational space to connect and collaborate with others in human rights education and training. It also gives participants the skills, resources, and tools needed to take action on human rights issues in their communities. The 2025–2026 Training as Action Series will center on the theme:**
“Defending Democracy and Human Rights in a Changing World.”
This year’s sessions will explore how human rights education can equip individuals and communities to navigate and respond to today’s most pressing civic challenges. Topics will include misinformation and media literacy, protest and civic participation rights, digital surveillance, climate justice, teaching in polarized contexts, and inclusive, community-rooted strategies for democratic engagement. The series will continue to highlight youth and grassroots leadership while offering practical tools for educators, advocates, and organizers working at the intersection of rights and civic action.
Become a co-sponsor today and help support the 2025-2026 series. All co-sponsors will have the opportunity to have their organization’s logo displayed on promotional materials.
