We are dedicated to developing innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of seniors across diverse African communities. Through strategic partnerships, advocacy efforts, and cutting-edge practices, we strive to set new standards in elder care. Our goal is to empower families and caregivers to provide compassionate support while promoting a sustainable and inclusive approach to aging in Africa.

Africa is undergoing a demographic shift with a growing elderly population and increased demand for home-based health services. Uganda, like many African nations, faces limitations in geriatric care infrastructure and community-based care models. Meanwhile, the burden of care often falls disproportionately on women, who remain underrepresented in health system leadership.

Through strategic partnerships, advocacy efforts, and cutting-edge practices, HOCA-A strives to set new standards in elder care. Our goal is to empower families and caregivers to provide compassionate support while promoting a sustainable and inclusive approach to aging in Africa.

In 30 years, the number of African countries with more than a million older adults is projected to rise to 36 and seven of them will each have at least 10 million older adults”

In Africa, the older population is set to significantly expand according to a 2020 Census.gov report. Between 2020 and 2050, the elderly are projected to triple from 74.4 million to 235.1 million continent-wide. This demographic trend highlights the urgent necessity for proactive healthcare strategies tailored to the distinct needs of aging populations across diverse African societies.
