🍲 Gaza Soup Kitchen: Feeding 10,000 People Daily

As famine tightens its grip and markets collapse, Gaza Soup Kitchen is still boiling pots—feeding 1,000 people every day with dignity and determination.

We were the first soup kitchen in North Gaza to lean on local farmers and forage from nature to keep people alive. When others paused, we adapted. When supplies ran out, we improvised.

Today, we operate across 11 kitchens, run a community clinic, and deliver clean water and hot meals to hospitals—even in the hardest-hit zones.

This is survival work, done by people living through the very crisis they’re responding to.

The Finnish Olympic Committee Support Foundation (Olympic Fund) was established in 2018. The new Olympic Fund provides promising athletes with genuine opportunities to achieve international success.The fund proceeds are used to improve athletes' training conditions and socioeconomic position and support coaching activities.Internationally competitive sports academies offer an environment where athletes can focus on what matters.  The Olympic Fund provides businesses with an entirely new way of supporting Finnish top level sports. The sums donated by businesses increase the fund's capital, and the returns on invested capital are used to coach promising athletes and improving their training conditions. The fund's basic capital will never be directly used, so the donation will provide a permanent benefit. The added support ensures that athletes have the opportunity to reach the very top of their respective sports. Finland needs internationally competitive athletes, as they serve as role models for young people. International success in sports also fosters a sense of unity and confidence in the future among the Finnish population. No one should have to worry about accessing menstrual products when they are needed.  Helping Women Period provides menstrual products (mostly disposable pads & tampons, but sustainable products when available) to those who need them; we also offer menstrual health workshops, advocacy (let's eliminate period stigma!), and peace of mind.   Since we work with a local janitorial supplier, we can provide one person's menstrual needs for an entire year for only $35.

Justice Nest is a newly registered charity (MARCH 2024). The founder is an experienced Kenyan advocate who has worked in the non-profit for over 17 years focusing on child rights, women's right, human rights and access to Justice. While working in the system, she witnessed the effect of the justice system on families and has decided to step in to prevent further family disintegration by the justice system.

Justice Nest is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring access to justice for vulnerable families and individuals in Kenya. We aim to protect and restore families in contact with the justice system, focusing on women, children, and prisoners. Justice Nest is a family-centered, holistic justice non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring families in contact with the justice system.  **Our mission is to transform the justice system and strengthen families by promoting policies and practices that reduce reliance on incarceration.** We provide legal education, holistic representation and advocate for community-based alternatives to prosecution through partnerships. We advocate for restorative and holistic justice, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the support and resources they need to thrive. We envision a society where the justice system prioritizes the well-being of families, actively interrupting the cycle of family disintegration and preventing the pipeline to prison.

At Justice Nest, we recognize the complexity of the justice system and its role in perpetuating family disintegration and poverty. Our **Mother and Children Restorative justice program** aim to address the root causes that lead women and children into conflict with the law, such as poverty, trauma, and lack of familial support. By working closely with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the judiciary, we advocate for alternatives to prosecution and provide pathways for rehabilitation and reintegration.

Our **Prison paralegal program** seeks to bridge the justice gap.  Access to legal representation is a fundamental right, yet many prisoners in Kenya face significant barriers in obtaining adequate legal assistance. 90% of those in prison do not have access to legal services. To put it in perspective, with a prison population of over 55,000, about 50,000 of those barely have hope that they will leave the system. This problem is multifaceted and involves issues of availability, affordability, and systemic inefficiencies. There is no office of public defenders in Kenya to meet the demand at the state level. A majority of lawyers are based in urban areas, making it difficult for prisoners in rural regions to access legal help. "*The ratio of lawyers to the population in Kenya is alarmingly low, especially in rural areas where legal services are almost non-existent.*" - Law Society of Kenya

Euki

Extending and improving the lives of people with ALK+ lung cancer by raising funds for research and patient support programs.

**Our Vision**

We envision a world where ALK+ lung cancer is a chronic or even curable condition and the next person diagnosed with lung cancer does not have to live under the current stigma.

**Our Start**

\#SweatForBreath started as a grassroots fundraising campaign during Lung Cancer Awareness Month in 2023. After being diagnosed with Stage IV ALK+ lung cancer in November 2022, David Cornbrooks became keenly aware that he was benefiting from the selfless fundraising and awareness efforts of the patients before him.

The \#SweatForBreath campaign in 2023 became David, and his wife, Lisa’s, way to help the next generation ALK+ lung cancer patients.

\#SweatForBreath accelerated beyond more than just a typical fundraiser.  The initiative quickly evolved into a community of patients, caregivers, family, and friends seeking to make David and Lisa's vision a reality and the road to that vision more tolerable. People donated, sweat at the in-person cycle event, posted on social media, and helped fundraise through organizing group walks, selling art, "gifting" donations on behalf of clients, and much more.

Their success in 2023 compelled David and Lisa to officially transition the \#SweatForBreath campaign into the Sweat For Breath Foundation, operating through a fiscal sponsorship with Players Philanthropy Fund, a Maryland charitable trust recognized by IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Federal Tax ID: 27-6601178).

**Our Impact**

Since 2023, over **1,450 donors** have given nearly **$400,000** to the Foundation (or its predecessor campaign). 100% of the proceeds have gone directly to The Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Center in Baltimore, MD to support Dr. Vincent Lam’s ALK+ lung cancer research.

This support provided the critical funding needed to launch Dr. Lam’s clinic trial, which will evaluate the safety of a cancer peptide vaccine to prevent or delay acquired resistance in advanced ALK+ lung cancer patients currently on ALK targeted therapy. Dr. Lam’s vaccine is the **first ALK+ vaccine in the world** to be tested in a clinical trial. Dr. Lam administered the vaccine to the first patient **in clinic on May 13, 2024**!
