1. Personal Stories of Impact
- Empowering Single Mothers: At H.O.P.E., we're passionate about empowering single mothers who are often at the heart of their families but face significant financial challenges. One of our recent projects transformed a vacant property into a safe, affordable home for a single mother and her two children. Knowing they now have a stable place to live and thrive is why we do what we do. By donating, you help us create more stories like hers.
- Generational Change: When families gain stable, affordable housing, it doesn't just change their present—it can transform their future. One of our families now has three generations under one roof. The parents work hard to support their kids and the grandmother, who needs daily care. Through our Reynard Rent-to-Own Program, they’re saving for a home they can one day own, building a legacy for their children.
2. Metrics on Impact
- Funding Impact: Every dollar you contribute moves us closer to building affordable homes for families with incomes below 50% of the area's median. For example, $500 can help fund the insulation of a new home, ensuring warmth and safety during the winter, while $1,000 can help with asbestos abatement to make older buildings safe for children and families.
- Housing Stability: This year H.O.P.E. provided affordable rental housing for over 10 families in need, helping each achieve the security of stable, affordable housing while on a path to homeownership. We also began a renovation of a blighted home and a new construction home to be sold to low-income families who otherwise would never accomplish their American Dream of purchasing a home.
3. Details on Who Will Benefit
- Single Mothers of Color: Many of the families we serve are led by single mothers of color, who are often overlooked in the housing market. Our new builds, like the two-family home on Blackhall Street, are not just places to live—they’re opportunities for the owners to generate rental income, helping them manage their mortgage and achieve long-term financial stability.
- Local Low-Income Families: Our projects, like the renovation at 35 Terrace Ave, are dedicated to low-income families in our community. These homes provide them with affordable housing and a pathway to ownership, allowing them to focus on raising their children in a safe, supportive environment.
