Morne Gazo Nature Reserve Revitalization Project focuses on the refurbishment of nature-friendly rails and trials, a lookout summit platform and the formation of an information centre 

This project contributes to terrestrial conservation, branded eco-tourism products and sustainable livelihood.

Through a walk up the natural mountain trail which is roughly 1140ft, locals, nationals and international visitors will have the ambience of a warm welcoming tour to pleasure their eyes on the remarkable sceneries the project has to offer with the availability of a lookout summit at its peak.

In addition to the peaceful atmosphere, alluring surroundings, cordial staff and wealth of information gathered along the journey, a relaxing restaurant and bar awaits one’s taste buds upon return from the lookout summit.

The Grenada Sustainable Development Trust Fund (GSDTF) commissioned the Grenada Coral Reef Foundation to assess the current status of the coral reefs within the Grenada Marine Protected Areas Network utilizing the Atlantic and Gulf Rapid Reef Assessment (AGRRA) Protocol.

Project 1: The primary goal of the assessment was to provide insights into the status of coral reefs within the various MPAs to guide the GSDTF in developing the next call for proposals aimed at enhancing the Grenada MPA Network.

Project 2: This project is designed to help restore the effective operations of the Sandy Island Oyster Bed Marine protected Area (SIOBMPA) following the passage of Hurricane Beryl. This project will aim to provide the management of the SIOBMPA with all the basic infrastructure, equipment and materials needed to resume the effective management of the MPA within the shortest possible time. 

Project 3: The Post Beryl Recovery of the Levera Pond Protected Area (LPPA). Outputs: Ecological Assessment, Clean up and Restoration of Wetlands, Reconstruct Levera Pond Boardwalk to support improved access to the lake and income generating livelihoods activities such as nature and kayaking tours, Draft management framework for the LPPA  and Stakeholder engagement and community education and awareness.

Project 5: Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) Level 1 training in Fish Processing and Handling.

Project 6: This project is geared toward sustainable livelihood development by utilizing solar drying technology. With the abundance of fish in and out of the peak season, the cooperative is introducing this drying technology as the first step, followed by salting to increase shelf life. The process also increases the value added to the fish for marketability.
