**Wedu** is a not-for-profit social enterprise on a mission to nurture the next generation of women leaders in Asia. Founded in 2012, Wedu was born out of a desire to address the vast gender leadership gap that persists globally—and is especially stark in Asia, where it is projected to take 189 years to reach full gender parity, compared to the global average of 131 years. Wedu began with a fundamental insight: that the barriers to women’s leadership are not solely external, but deeply internalized, often rooted in cultural, familial, and social expectations. **Global Mentorship Programme**

This flagship program has supported over 1,500 women leaders (Rising Stars) with guidance from more than 1,700 mentors across the world. These mentorships focus on self-awareness, goal setting, network expansion, and resilience. Since inception, Wedu has facilitated over 90,000 hours of mentorship and more than 2,400 mentorship matches. As of 2024, 76% of participants say they attribute the successes on their leadership journey to the support they received from Wedu​.

**Introduction to Leadership (ITL) Course**

Wedu’s self-paced ITL course strengthens self-awareness, goal clarity, and agency—particularly among women who face structural and cultural barriers to leadership. Informed by over a decade of programming and global research, the course is contextualized for Asian women and integrates self-reflection, identity formation, and leadership development. By 2025, Wedu aims to reach 25,000 women with multilingual and multimodal versions of this course, scaling up to one million women by 2030 in partnership with The Agency Fund​.

**Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) Programme**

Through its innovative Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) model, Wedu enables women to finance their university education and leadership development without upfront costs. This model aligns repayment with income, ensuring financial flexibility and minimizing risk for the individual. As of 2024, Wedu brought this ISA program fully in-house, increasing operational efficiency and sustainability​

**Women’s Leadership Academy (WLA)**

Wedu has been a key partner in regional programs like the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Women’s Leadership Academy. Through mentorship and community-building, this initiative fosters strategic leadership among emerging changemakers across ASEAN.

**IMPACT AND REACH**

Wedu’s programs have demonstrated measurable impact:

- 75% of mentees report an increased sense of self-belief and confidence in expanding their leadership networks.
- Participants have achieved key milestones including career promotions, launching social ventures, and civic engagement.
- Wedu’s community spans over 30 countries, with a growing digital ecosystem and partnerships across the education, tech, and development sectors.
- Wedu aligns its impact with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), where the highest concentration of community engagement and initiatives are represented.

**ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH AND FUTURE PLANS**

In 2022, Wedu commissioned Bain & Company to conduct a Geographic Expansion Study, assessing market attractiveness and Wedu’s ability to succeed across prospective countries. Based on this analysis, priority countries for expansion—where both factors ranked high—include India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Cambodia, Myanmar, and Nepal were identified for selective expansion. Wedu is now acting on these recommendations by doubling down on our focus in South and Southeast Asia.

In response to major social, political, and economic shifts across South and Southeast Asia, Wedu has identified three concurrent crises affecting women leaders in the region: the Climate Crisis, the Care Economy, and persistent barriers to Economic Empowerment. To ensure our programmes remain relevant and responsive, our External Strategic Priorities for 2025–2027 are focused on directly addressing these challenges. By 2027, we aim to enable 1,000 women leaders to drive climate-resilient solutions; shift how society and women leaders view unpaid care work, recognizing it as a critical factor in advancing women’s leadership; and enhance the economic empowerment of 1,000 women leaders, particularly those leading Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), through capacity-building, education financing, strategic partnerships, and community support.

Wedu will continue to challenge both structural exclusions and internalized limitations faced by women. By integrating self-reflective leadership learning with long-term community and capital support, Wedu aims not just to close the gender gap—but to redefine leadership itself.

All the costs inherent in their training year (accommodation, teaching, food, medical care, uniforms, school supplies, transport...) are covered by the school.

Programming at RAQC addresses multiple areas of need: support groups, peer counseling, and on-site mental health professionals contribute to the emotional wellbeing of our community. Classes and workshops on topics as diverse as screen printing, foraging, and self defense address our physical and creative needs. Social events like mixers, parties, and performances ensure that our region’s vibrant queer culture continues to flourish. In addition to our own programming, RAQC also serves as a safe and accessible space where all local queer organizations and individuals can host their own events.

ROC-DC has been building power with restaurant workers since 2009. We are a small worker-led organization that utilizes base-building, organizing and worker-led advocacy to move our mission forward. We have a strong focus on community building and leadership development to strengthen our ability as a restaurant worker community to make the changes we want to see in our industry and in DC. ROC-DC is fully independent organization from ROC-United (circa June 2024).  

**Addressing the Current Moment**

ROC-DC has been specifically equipped to support workers during crises, and have provided systems of support, training and mutual aid during the threats of Trump's first presidency, during the COVID-19 pandemic and currently under the federal occupation of Washington, DC that is putting so many of our members and restaurant workers at risk. ROC-DC has not only been providing necessary mutual aid support to our members, but also building out systems where workers can support one another during this time. We have provided comprehensive resources to restaurant owners/management supported members with creating Emergency Family Plans and provided ongoing community  & healing spaces to share resources and stay in community during such a stressful and isolating time.

Sports for Development: Empowering children and communities through sports in Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon.

**Palestine Association for Children’s Encouragement of Sports (PACES)**, is a UK based charity established in 2006, with the aim of providing healthy, structured after- school sports programs for Palestinian girls and boys ages 6-16 years Living in refugee camps and most marginalized and vulnerable areas in Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon. From March to November every year, children are granted an escape from being idle on the streets, or in their homes; an escape that is fun, healthy, and one that encourages participation and inclusion. Since its establishment, **PACES** has reached out and served over 33,500 children, 2,350 young female and male coaches and assistant coaches, and over 200 local sports clubs and other community based organizations. All programs promote gender equality, and have successfully reached and maintained a 50% female participation rate.

Through its core sports program, **PACES** provides children with multiple educational benefits to help them thrive in their own communities. The program also encourages discipline and cooperation, and builds their confidence and self-awareness. In addition, **PACES** offers non-sport activities to enhance the children’s social development through partnerships with local and international NGOs. The non-sport activities include awareness sessions covering several essential topics such as health, safety, and hygiene among others.

To attain a wider impact, **PACES** builds local capacity by training and hiring leaders in the local communities as coaches to deliver the sports programs. Coaches receive training in multiple areas, and acquire a set of skills necessary to enhance their employability in the job market. **PACES** also partners with local clubs and sports centers situated in marginalized areas, which facilitate the delivery of program and outreach to the target beneficiaries.

A community-supported independent library & artist workshop of printed material, fiscally sponsored by Intersection for the Arts.

The Prelinger Library in San Francisco offers thousands of historical maps, zines, documents, books and other materials, all of which are available for artists to reference or reuse. Its collections serve activists, writers, musicians, composers, poets, novelists, journalists, and historians. The Library was established in 2004 and has served over ten thousand reserach visits. Its collections have supported the production of artists talks series, films, novels as well as open-ended explorations by people working across all media types. As a 100% community-supported project, the Library s free to pursue equity and justice, abolition and libration, and to serve the community as a trans- and queer-safe space and infoshop for survival and resistance. The Library puts hospitality first and offers sparkling water or tea to every visitor.

The collections also hold government-produced documents from eras when artists and writers were widely employed in their production, offering art and literature in unexpected places as well as roadmaps toward civil societies. With stacks materials ranging from eighteenth century documents to works produced this week, the room serves as a slip in spacetime within which a couple hundred years of human experience and experiments can be browsed. Library hosts represent a range of subject-matter expertises including public transportation, radio science, zine making, natural history, library science, book arts, moving image history and production, and nonfiction writing.

The Library also exists as an experiment in analog–digital hybridity. Our mission is to advocate for transformative justice, emphasizing empathy and understanding as we work with those who have been incarcerated. We aim to break down the barriers of social stigma, creating a platform for personal growth and change. At the Transformative Justice Center, and our flagship prison program - Empathy in Action, we see past the person’s history and focus on their potential. By providing crucial support and resources, we aspire to drastically reduce recidivism and help individuals reclaim their lives. At its core, transformative justice works to transform relationships, institutions and systems historically founded in oppression, marginalization, and violence into ones grounded in restoration, respect, and responsibility.

We believe that everyone deserves a chance to be seen, heard, and understood regardless of background, race, class, socio-economic status, political or/and religious views. We know that most if not all people in prison come from painful, traumatic backgrounds, from victims to victimizers. We work to transform prison spaces into places focused on higher education, healing, whole body wellness, accountability and respect. We see that within every human being there exists the possibility to grow, to change, and to transform with the right tools and interventions. We are committed to building bridges being the public and our incarcerated community in order to learn, understand and humanize those most impacted by familial and societal harms.

We provide menstrual products to those experiencing homelessness and low-income disparity. 

No one should have to worry about accessing menstrual products when they are needed.  Helping Women Period provides menstrual products (mostly disposable pads & tampons, but sustainable products when available) to those who need them; we also offer menstrual health workshops, advocacy (let's eliminate period stigma!), and peace of mind.   Since we work with a local janitorial supplier, we can provide one person's menstrual needs for an entire year for only $35.

NÈGÈS MAWON is a Haitian Feminist organization fighting against the effects of the patriarchal organization of society on women.

NÈGÈS MAWON aim to liberate Haitian girls and women from all forms of violence and oppression suffered and tie our feminist struggle to the ideal of justice and freedom ushered by the revolution of 1804. To achieve this political horizon, we work every day to improve the conditions of women and girls in Haiti. We are engaged in promoting, defending and strengthening women's social, cultural, economic and political rights. This struggle is part of the vision of liberation from any system that hinders the full enjoyment by women, all over the world, of their humanity, their rights and their bodies. 

**WHY NÈGÈS MAWON [MAROON WOMAN]?** 

**"Creole child that still lives within me, you will be born free and rebellious, or you will not be born at all."**

These are the last words of Lisette, the main character of Evelyne Trouillot's novel "The Infamous Rosalie" when she fled the plantation where she was held in slavery to offer freedom to her child. The day she becomes a maroon.

Naming our feminist organization "NÈGÈS MAWON" frames it within an impulse identified by historians such as Edner Brutus and Jean Fouchard, who defined marooning as a phenomenon of permanent dissent, which allowed the culmination of the Haitian Revolution. Our feminist struggle is part of the legacy and ideals of justice and freedom brought about by the revolution of 1804. Our feminist struggle is also grounded in the struggles of women around the world who came before us and of which we are the heirs. Today it amplifies the struggles of our sisters around the globe for the advancement of women's movements.

We're reclaiming the symbol of the maroon, that symbol of freedom, rebellion, revolt, thirst for justice and vitality, to express, we young women of today, our fight against all forms of violence, discrimination, oppression, marginalization or exclusion that are anchored in patriarchy. We've feminized this symbol to protest the invisibilization, minimization or distortion of women's contribution to our nations and world history.

NÈGÈS MAWON, to pay tribute to all those women warriors who forged this nation for with their blood, sweat and lives since 1492. NÈGÈS MAWON, to be the worthy heirs of these heroines that history remembers but also those that history has forgotten, has hidden.

NÈGÈS MAWON, so that our struggle can keep alive those who have cried out for centuries, on our soil but also all over the world: "FREEDOM OR DEATH".

**OUR POLITICAL VISION**

 **What we want**

 Justice, equality and access to rights, resources, opportunities, well-being and happiness for girls and women. To this end: 

-  Ensuring respect for the rights and interests of girls and women 
-  Dismantle inequalities and the forces responsible for systemic discrimination experienced by women.
-  Eliminate all forms of violence, discrimination, oppression, marginalization or exclusion against women
- Achieve equality between women and men in all sectors of society
- Respect the rights of women and girls, considering the links between different forms of discrimination based on race, sex, sexual orientation, physical or mental abilities, age, and class. 
- To establish women's autonomy and leadership in the personal, social, economic, cultural and political spheres, thus allowing for a real and effective change in their living conditions and situation.

 **Our mandate** 

 **Support and accompaniment**: aware that solidarity is a pillar of Haitian society stand**,** we want to contribute to meeting material, psychological and administrative support and aid from a feminist perspective. 

 **Action and mobilization**: it is important for us to claim our right to public space, which is why Nègès Mawon hosts many public actions and events such as demonstrations, artistic performances, debates or other. 

 **Bringing together and gathering** :working for justice and equality properly envisioned without training and sharing knowledge and analysis on the various forms of domination and oppression we experience as girls and women. Therefore we offer many meetings and trainings to understand, exchange and learn.

 **Advocacy**: Haitian feminist struggle has made key political victories achievable, but these important victories should not make us forget all the ones are left to win. That is why our organization is involved in legislative monitoring and advocacy to ensure that public policy for the protection and political, social, cultural and economic autonomy of women is enshrined in law.

Abortion Freedom Fund is a national fund focusing on funding abortion pills by mail.

Abortion Freedom Fund supports accessible, affordable, evidence-based abortion pills by mail for all. Our mission is to help pregnant people take control of their healthcare and futures by dismantling medicalized control of abortion and encouraging a world where abortion pills are over the counter.

We simplify access to care for patients by funding virtual abortion providers and clinics, individuals accessing telehealth abortions, and reimbursing local funds for telehealth abortion care, allowing them to focus their resources on people seeking procedural abortions in their communities.

In addition to direct funding, we partner with organizations doing research and other activism to increase access to abortions.

Our core aims are:
-Assisting people who are pregnant to take control of their health care and futures
-Dismantling medicalized control of abortion and encouraging a world where abortion pills are over the counter
