From Rescue to Release: Save Marine Animals Wildlife🐧🌊

Every year along the shores of the Río de la Plata — the vast estuary near Buenos Aires, Argentina — marine animals wash ashore exhausted, injured, or far from home.

Penguins, sea lions, sea turtles, and seabirds are often pushed off course by storms, ocean currents, pollution, or environmental change. When they arrive on land, they are usually weak, disoriented, and fighting to survive.

Without immediate help, many of them would not make it.

Recently, something remarkable happened.

A young King Penguin appeared on the coast of Vicente López, just outside Buenos Aires — thousands of miles from the cold subantarctic waters where his species normally lives.

He was weak, underweight, and disoriented.

Experts believe he may have drifted north after completing his natural molting process — a critical stage in a penguin’s life when they temporarily lose their waterproof feathers and cannot swim, leaving them extremely vulnerable.

Our team at Fundación Temaikèn’s Wildlife Rescue Center responded immediately.

The penguin was carefully transported to our rehabilitation center, where veterinarians and wildlife specialists began a full medical evaluation and started the delicate process of stabilization and recovery.

Cases like this are becoming more frequent.

Throughout the year, our rescue teams respond to wildlife emergencies along the coast and delta of the Río de la Plata — part of the ecosystem connected to the rich and biodiverse Argentine Sea.

Animals arrive needing urgent veterinary care, specialized nutrition, and a safe place to recover before they can return to the ocean.

For more than 20 years, Fundación Temaikèn has been one of Argentina’s leading organizations dedicated to wildlife conservation, rescue, and rehabilitation.

At our Wildlife Rescue Center, specialists provide:

* Emergency rescue operations

* Advanced veterinary care

* Long-term rehabilitation

* Safe release back into the wild

Our goal is always the same: to return every animal that can survive on its own back to its natural home.

But this work is only possible thanks to people who care about protecting wildlife.

Your donation helps provide:

🐧 Emergency rescue missions

🏥 Veterinary treatment and diagnostics

🐟 Specialized nutrition during rehabilitation

🌊 Safe recovery spaces before release

Some animals recover in just a few days. Others require weeks or even months of specialized care before they are strong enough to return to the ocean.

Right now, this young King Penguin is beginning his recovery journey.

With the right care, patience, and support, he will regain his strength — and one day return to the wild waters where he belongs.

And with your help, many more marine animals will have the same second chance.

Donate today and help rescue, rehabilitate, and return marine wildlife to the ocean.
