Balboa Skatepark Renovation

Balboa Skatepark is one of the most transit-accessible public skateparks in the city, yet it remains underused due to its deteriorating condition. Easily reached via major public transportation lines, including BART and MUNI, the park was originally built as a wooden structure over a concrete slab. Over time, exposure to the elements and general wear and tear have taken their toll. Through ongoing coordination with SF Recreation & Parks, it has become clear that there is shared concern about the park’s current condition and a desire for community engagement in finding a long-term solution. Renovating Balboa Skatepark would not only address the current maintenance challenges but also revitalize the space for the local community and regional users alike.
