The Anne Carry Durland Memorial Alternatives Library is a public library that promotes and advocates for sustainability, social justice, and the kind of curiosity that can change the world. Since our beginning in 1974, the library collection has focused on alternatives. The first books were about alternative communities & lifestyles in the 70’s. Our collection has since grown to include a variety of topics, all with themes of social justice, ecology, and transformative action. To hear about our staff, events, programs, and to search our collection, visit www.alternativeslibrary.org.
