Music can cross borders where words cannot. For over 80 years, the Bamberg Symphony has carried this idea into the world — from its home in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bamberg to audiences across more than 500 cities and 64 countries.
Founded in 1946 by musicians shaped by displacement and history, the orchestra’s roots reach back to the great European tradition of Mahler and Mozart. Today, under Chief Conductor Jakub Hrůša, it continues to unite heritage and innovation in a distinctive and deeply moving sound.
In March 2028, the orchestra returns to the United States for its 15th tour — including a special performance at Carnegie Hall. These concerts are more than performances: they are moments of connection, bringing people together through music at the highest level.
