Climate Fresk is an innovative, dialogue-based workshop format designed to counter climate change disinformation and empower people to take meaningful action for climate protection. Since its creation in France in 2015, more than two million people worldwide have participated in these workshops, facilitated by a rapidly growing global community of over 90,000 trained facilitators.
In Germany, a vibrant network of around 3,000 facilitators has emerged since 2021, supported by volunteer local representatives. Together, they have reached over 50,000 participants through workshops at universities, schools, community centers, companies, and adult education institutions.
Developed by climate scientists, Climate Fresk is grounded in the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and reflects the latest insights in science communication. What makes the format unique is its combination of scientific rigor, gamification, and open dialogue. It creates a safe space for participants to explore complex issues, debunk myths and misinformation, and discuss how climate change affects them personally.
Climate Fresk workshops are apolitical, action-oriented, and designed to make climate science accessible and engaging. By fostering constructive conversations, they help participants move beyond confusion and polarization toward shared understanding and solutions.
Our vision: Everyone should understand that climate protection is about safeguarding people, social cohesion, and economic resilience.
