The Healing Hub

Imagine the 10,000 individuals in Cambridge Village, South Africa on the Eastern Cape, fighting tooth and nail against hunger, an alarming 97% unemployment rate, child-headed homes, gender-based violence, and the uncertainty of tomorrow as the lingering effects of Apartheid define their reality every day.

  • FOR THE COST OF A LATTE ($5), immediate food relief for those in need.
  • FOR THE COST OF LUNCH ($10), you can contribute to sustainable food solutions.
  • FOR THE COST OF DINNER ($25), you can support the creation of job opportunities.
  • FOR THE COST OF A NIGHT OUT ($50), you can make a significant impact on the lives of over 10,000 people

Two years ago, the community reached out to us for assistance, and we've been providing support ever since, including food aid and psychosocial support. They expressed a need for job opportunities and food security, and we've been diligently working to address these critical issues.

This isn’t a new reality, but a legacy of colonisation. 30 years later, South Africans all over the country, but especially in rural communities, struggle every day for food & basic needs. They were stripped of their rights, their culture, their language, and their voice.

Yet they are RESILIENT! Proud of their heritage! Survivors of the Apartheid system that tried to crush them! And with a little support, they can stand tall as warriors. And they're not alone. They've got us — and now they've got you. A global community that believes real change is possible!

When you’re in survival mode, nothing matters but that next meal and where you’ll sleep at night. In fact, it’s impossible to imagine what COULD be when you’re constantly focused on what MUST be. And in order for South Africa to truly heal, we need a bigger vision.

OUR VISION: Designing programs WITH, not FOR South Africans, our goal is to address the generational trauma caused by colonialism and open new doors to sustained economic growth. But we know to open that door, we need to start with a hot meal TODAY.

This isn't about charity. It's about rolling up our sleeves and getting the job done TOGETHER. It’s about empowering others to make lasting changes in their lives independent of long-term donations. For three years, we’ve mobilised a global community of 400+ volunteers to provide 10,000 plates of food daily in and around Johannesburg and offer healing spaces for women and children in the Eastern Cape.

But we can do more, and we will do more. Because a plate of food is just the start. And right now, we've got a golden opportunity staring us in the face.—a 54-acre farm that could be the game-changer these people need if we can raise $250,000. But, time is ticking. We have a limited opportunity before us to secure the funds to buy the farm and continue our work on the ground.

Starting with wholesome, life-sustaining food, this farm can become a symbol of hope, a lifeline for those who’ve been dealt a rough hand but are fighting back!Do you know what the nonprofit sector is missing? Pragmatism…We know we need to think strategically and quickly to work WITH South Africans fighting to improve their lives. So we have three actionable plans ready to roll out tomorrow based on how much you’re willing to help us.

OUR 400+ VOLUNTEERS IN 41 COUNTRIES ARE STANDING BY, READY TO LAUNCH INTO ACTION. WE JUST NEED YOU!

But, do you know what the nonprofit sector is missing? Pragmatism…

We know we need to think strategically and quickly to work WITH South Africans fighting to improve their lives. So we have three actionable plans ready to roll out tomorrow based on how much you’re willing to help us:

  • If we raise $75,000 = The launch of kitchens for emergency hot meals in Cambridge Village, with staff on the ground to improve communications and support.
  • If we raise $250,000 = Purchase of the 54 acre farm ending hunger as we create sustainable food access for 10,000 people annually.
  • If we raise $500,000 = Establishment of our Healing Hub offering social support programs, trauma recovery initiatives, and a micro-entrepreneurship program to speed up economic growth and end dependency on donations.

Our 400+ volunteers are standing by, ready to launch into action. We just need YOU.

For decades, Africa has been on the receiving end of substantial development aid, but the impact has often fallen short of the transformative change we all hoped for. The nonprofit sector, once a beacon of hope, has struggled to break the cycle of dependency, leaving communities trapped in a perpetual state of need.

Recognising the limitations of traditional charity models, we believe a shift towards social enterprise is the way forward. By fostering sustainable business ventures and prioritising job creation and entrepreneurship, social enterprises offer a path towards economic empowerment and self-reliance. This approach champions programs co-created and directed by the very people they aim to serve, ensuring solutions are rooted in local context and driven by community needs.

It's not just about giving aid—it's about fostering innovation, empowering individuals, and catalysing lasting change from within.

We believe that poverty is a symptom of greater trauma and requires a community to stand in the gap. What do you believe?Think about it: A Healing Hub where families no longer go to bed hungry, parents find work that puts food on the table and pride in their hearts, and kids dream of futures that don't involve just scraping by.

“Ubuntu” means “I am, because you are.” One act of kindness is like a pebble in a pond creating waves. We believe poverty is a symptom of greater trauma and requires a community to stand in the gap. What do you believe?Your donation isn't just a drop in the bucket — it's a lifeline. It's a chance to stick it to the status quo and show the world what real change looks like.

So, will you join us? Let's show Cambridge Village that we care and give them the support they need to rewrite their stories, one donation at a time.

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Donate to stop donating. Invest to multiply. We are proud to count you in this fight!
