Power the Dalit Movement: End Caste Inequality
- Raised
- $100
- Goal
- $50,000
The government of Nepal recently issued an unprecedented state apology for centuries of caste-based discrimination and systemic violence against Dalits.
But apologies do not save lives.
The tragic death of Shree Krishna BK in police custody under suspicious circumstances following the state apology is a lethal reminder that state rhetoric is unable to stop violence against Dalits. His death is not a standalone case, and many go unreported. Centuries of structural violence cannot be undone by speeches alone – it requires a relentless, untiring and well-resourced movement to reinforce accountability.
Your Solidarity Fuels the Infrastructure of Change
Justice cannot wait. DLMGA calls global advocates for social justice to act and invest in strengthening Dalit movement, systems of protection and healing survivors of caste-based violence - that Dalits are denied for generations.
Your contribution shifts the power balance in Nepal and across South Asia by funding:
- Caste Trauma-Informed Counseling: We are launching Nepal’s first specialized psychosocial support system designed to treat the specific, generational trauma of caste-based oppression.
- Legal Defense and Safe Houses to** provide more than shelter – a strategic safety net to support survivors pursue legal justice safely without any fear of retaliation or intimidation.
- Policy and Structural Advocacy to ensure existing legal frameworks and protections are enforced where they matter the most – within communities and in the courts.
Ending casteism is a shared human responsibility. The path to justice is paved by those who refuse to stand by.
Fund the movement. Restore the dignity. Build a better Future.
