Every Member of The Family Deserves A Laptop or Table
Connected to Culture is excited to launch our Each One, Teach One Community in our hometown, Washington, DC. We want to provide our neighbors who need access to the internet with laptops, broadband access and the skills to use these tools for their participation in our one of a kind virtual exchange experience.
Each One, Teach One is a free, invitation only, community that connects our neighborhoods to tech and African culture. Participants meet like-minded friends in the community and all over the world who are also passionate about African arts and culture. At the same time, members are becoming familiar with new devices and gaining new skills online that are provided to them free of charge will they are a part of this unique experience.
Digital Literacy Training:
We are conducting in-person workshops along with virtual cultural exchange with peers across the globe. Participants link up with international peers to take online trainings, learn new software, apps and platforms.
Participants will be asked to participate in monthly online/hybrid/in-person gatherings that will include workshops, cultural experiences and more. By the end of the program, participants will be well versed in using their device as well as learning more about a new culture from someone new across the world.
Providing laptop devices, at no cost to participants, is crucial to our Each One, Teach One Program. The participants are using their free laptop to participate in online and in-person workshops along with virtual cultural exchange with peers across the globe.
