Each year, the **Walk for Independence** brings together our community to celebrate the strength, resilience, and self-determination of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This isn’t just a walk—it’s a movement of inclusion, visibility, and empowerment.

**Why We Walk:**
At Clausen House, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to live with dignity, to work, to connect, and to thrive. The Walk for Independence honors the journeys of our participants—individuals who, with the right support, are achieving incredible things: finding meaningful employment, learning independent living skills, forming lasting friendships, and contributing to their communities.

Each step we take during this walk represents a milestone for someone at Clausen House—whether it’s moving into their first apartment, mastering a new life skill, or speaking up at a town hall meeting.

**Your Impact:**
Donations raised through the Walk for Independence directly fund programs such as:

- **Supported Living Services** – 40+ individuals receiving personalized support to live independently in the community
- **Adult Education & Day Programs** – over 70 clients participating in daily skill-building and creative workshops
- **Employment Support** – 50+ participants exploring career pathways with job coaching and placement
- **Community Integration** – hundreds of hours dedicated to social and civic engagement, arts, and wellness activities
