Put a Student Scientist on Southwest Florida's Water

Raised
$0
Goal
$5,000

The canals behind Southwest Florida homes don't stop at the seawall. They carry water to the kayak trails, the fishing flats, and finally into Naples Bay, Rookery Bay, and the Gulf. When a canal goes murky, low on oxygen, or thick with muck, the whole system feels it.

C-HAWQ (pronounced "sea-hawk") is a Naples nonprofit that studies these waterways and helps local governments fix them. Our scientists measure what's actually happening in the water, and we turn that data into restoration projects cities can fund and build.

This GivingTuesday, we're raising $5,000 to help bring a student field researcher onto our team. They'll work alongside our scientist, Nathan, testing canal water, tracking oxygen and nutrients, and documenting the wildlife that depends on healthy water. We'll share what they find, straight from the field.

Your gift does two things at once: it produces real data on local water, and it trains the next generation of Florida scientists. Every gift is tax-deductible, and monthly gifts help us plan the whole year.
