Happy Giving Tuesday: In the footsteps of a civil rights legacy, GirlTrek is a national health movement that activates thousands of Black women to be change makers in their lives and communities — through walking.

GirlTREK is one million Black women walking to heal our bodies, inspire our daughters and reclaim our neighborhoods. 


GirlTREK began with a simple but life-saving promise between two friends: to walk their way to better health and inspire others to do the same; and it is now a grassroots movement powered by everyday women. We are the women we serve. Now, GirlTrek is mobilizing this constituency for its boldest mission yet: a Care Crusade to extend Black women’s life expectancy by 10 years in a decade. These bold campaigns—scaling to 5 million members, establishing community wellness hubs “Care Villages”, training a Blue Brigade of health responders, and advancing policies to dismantle systemic barriers—will build lasting systems of care and inspire future generations.
