Mama Cash was the first international women's fund in the world. Since 1983, with the support of thousands of donors, we have provided over 140 million EUR in funding to women’s movements in over 160 countries. 

Mama Cash works to shift power and resources to grantee partners who create lasting change and equitable societies. We believe that they, shaped by their own experiences of oppression and injustice, know best how to make their voices heard, overcome unjust practices and courageously fight for their rights 

Working with governments, institutions and individuals, we invest our resources in movements leading change on a wide range of interconnected issues:  

- Tackling the climate crisis 
- Ending gender-based violence  
- Building more just labour laws 
- Defending reproductive autonomy 
- Pursuing racial justice 
- Championing LGBTQI rights  

Mama Cash’s work is underpinned by intentional guiding principles: work in partnership with those we fund; provide long-term, flexible grants; engage movements in decision making and; address issues across borders. This, we know, leads to powerful feminist movements, effective solutions and a more just world for all.
