I have been doing research on my Grandfather Sam Gerber who was born in Slonim about 1895. He migrated to the US in 1906 by himself at age 11. Your Ai of Slonim gave me a great perspective on his birthplace. I know most or all of his remaining family were killed in in 1942. He fought in both WW1 and WW2 and was awarded the Silver Star.
