Cats, dogs and animals in general  are among the purest souls that walk the earth. They are also incredible teachers for virtues like loving unconditionally, being non-judgemental and resilient. I do not have the space or the capacity to take care of additional animals right now, so this is the least I can do. I learned about CHARLIE in particular through STRAYZ, which is the brand of cat food I use for my cat Monti.

I have always been an animal lover and my daughter fell in love with Bub. We were heart broken when Bub passed away. We give monthly to continue her legacy in helping others as she was so graciously blessed in her time on earth. What a great cause! We love you Bub 😻

Launched in 2012, the Fungi Foundation is the first NGO dedicated to the fungi kingdom. **ABOUT CARE**

Charlies Animal Rescue Centre – CARE was established in January 2013 with the aim of providing state of the art, timely medical help to injured and ill street animals in the city of Bangalore. The inspiration behind CARE is Charlie, a differently abled 3 legged Indie dog who was an established figure in the field of animal assisted therapy since 2005. Charlie passed away in 2017 but his legacy lives on in the work at CARE.

Our latest business initiative in Kenya is Beehives. We have started two apiaries with 25 hives each in two separate villages. The beehives are a long term investment that we expect to pay big dividends in self reliance for these communities. A purchase of 25 Beehives is about a $4000 investment. Gabriel, Caroline and Emmanuel, 3 of our students live with their widowed mother, Meleon, in this mud hut that has reached the point of collapse. Funding of $500 has been provided. We need to raise an additional $500-$1000 to build a new home with solar lighting and a water tank to store rain water off the roof. This will provide a clean, dry and safe environment with adequate lighting to do studies. It gets dark at 6:00 pm in Kenya year round.  The water tank will eliminate long treks to fetch water for cooking and drinking.

We are currently having a campaign to purchase "100" Days For Girls Kits with Reusable Washable Sanitary Pads to keep girls in school all month, every month. Period. Each kit costs $10. *Clean, safe, dry and adequate living accommodations are essential for families to thrive. We provide solar power for homes where electricity is not available. Students achieve better results in school when basic home lighting is available in the evening hours so they can study and read.

Administration costs are self funded and supplemented with 5% from proceeds from our Savers Clothing Drives. We have no staff or rent to pay but there are always some expenses involved when running an organization.

Muttville is changing the way the world thinks about and treats older dogs.

Every day...
dogs in good health with wonderful personalities are euthanized. Why? Because they're older, and not considered adoptable. A dog is brought in because he can't jog with his guardian anymore. Or he needs a little time to get up the stairs. Or he’s simply not a puppy. In some cases, dogs are moved from loving homes to concrete cages because their guardians have died or simply can't care for them anymore.

We reach out to senior dogs at risk, give them the care they need, and find them loving forever homes. If we had our way, no dog would spend their last days in a shelter. There is so much love and joy in these dogs!

A joint project between VIVO Alliance and Integro Foundation to advocate for victims' rights. 

Background:
The Victims' Rights Advocacy & Accountability Project was inspired by Karla Hernandez-Rosario's exhausting legal battle for justice after she was brutally attacked and sexually assaulted in December, 2020. Her plea for basic human rights was overtly denied by continuous roadblocks in the Puerto Rican justice system, which unequivocally favors the perpetrators of such heinous crimes. It's been nearly two years since her horrific ordeal, and yet no progress has been made to incriminate her assailant. After consulting with several legal professionals, multiple assault victims faced with similar challenges, as well as many non-profit organizations battling the scourge of gender/sexual violence, Karla and her husband came to the conclusion that the problem is indeed systemic. In Puerto Rico, victims of crime such as gender violence and sexual assault have no constitutional rights in the criminal proceedings against their offenders. It is common knowledge that the Puerto Rico Criminal Justice System, for decades, has shown callous disregard toward victims of these types of crimes in their fruitless pleas for justice, leaving them to suffer relentless personal, emotional, and financial wounds.

Vision of Project:
To rectify the severe imbalance between the rights of criminal defendants against the absent rights of victims, VIVO Alliance must raise the necessary funding to collaborate with a team of legal and research professionals, whom Karla and her husband, Gerald, have connected with on their own personal battle for legal justice. These professionals, along with the help of the University of PR, shall implement a work-study program for students from the UPR Legal and Journalism departments. Together, they shall harvest critical information to create an in-depth, on-demand database that clearly defines the severe imbalance of Puerto Rico's legal justice

A community-supported independent library & artist workshop of printed material, fiscally sponsored by Intersection for the Arts.

The Prelinger Library in San Francisco offers thousands of historical maps, zines, documents, books and other materials, all of which are available for artists to reference or reuse. Its collections serve activists, writers, musicians, composers, poets, novelists, journalists, and historians. The Library was established in 2004 and has served over ten thousand reserach visits. Its collections have supported the production of artists talks series, films, novels as well as open-ended explorations by people working across all media types. As a 100% community-supported project, the Library s free to pursue equity and justice, abolition and libration, and to serve the community as a trans- and queer-safe space and infoshop for survival and resistance. The Library puts hospitality first and offers sparkling water or tea to every visitor.

The collections also hold government-produced documents from eras when artists and writers were widely employed in their production, offering art and literature in unexpected places as well as roadmaps toward civil societies. With stacks materials ranging from eighteenth century documents to works produced this week, the room serves as a slip in spacetime within which a couple hundred years of human experience and experiments can be browsed. Library hosts represent a range of subject-matter expertises including public transportation, radio science, zine making, natural history, library science, book arts, moving image history and production, and nonfiction writing.

The Library also exists as an experiment in analog–digital hybridity. Autour de l'Eau's mission is to assist people in rural Cameroon build and maintain sustainable, efficient water systems.  In addition to financing and organizing the physical construction of these systems, we work closely with our local partners to ensure that our projects meet their economic, social, and cultural needs. Over the past eleven years, Autour de L'Eau has facilitated the construction of numerous sanitary toilets and mechanized water pumps in the city of Kribi. Having already built a water tower in Grand Batanga, our current focus is on completing a new water distribution system that will bring drinking water into the homes of four thousand people. Access to safe water leads to positive and sustainable change in terms of health, education, higher literacy rates and quality of life. Wedu supports women leaders in Asia through mentorship, leadership development, and financial support. 

**Wedu** is a not-for-profit social enterprise on a mission to nurture the next generation of women leaders in Asia. Founded in 2012, Wedu was born out of a desire to address the vast gender leadership gap that persists globally—and is especially stark in Asia, where it is projected to take 189 years to reach full gender parity, compared to the global average of 131 years. Wedu envisions "a world where half of all leaders are women," and works toward this by removing barriers to leadership and enabling women to rise through access to community, capital, and capability.

**HISTORY AND MISSION**

Wedu began with a fundamental insight: that the barriers to women’s leadership are not solely external, but deeply internalized, often rooted in cultural, familial, and social expectations. Over more than a decade, Wedu has developed a community-centered model that supports women at various stages of their leadership journeys—whether they are just discovering their potential or advancing complex career or civic goals.

Wedu’s consolidated mission is to empower women leaders through:

- **Community:** A lifelong supportive network of mentors, allies, and peers.
- **Capital:** Innovative financing to access education and development.
- **Capability:** Programs that shift mindsets and transform limiting beliefs.

These pillars are grounded in Wedu’s Theory of Change, which outlines transformative pathways at the individual, collective, and systemic levels. Wedu believes that change starts with strengthening a woman’s sense of agency and identity, expands through communities of solidarity and mentorship, and ultimately transforms society through gender equity allies and inclusive leadership structures.

**PROGRAMMES**

Wedu’s approach is both high-touch and scalable, combining personalized mentorship with technology-enabled leadership learning.

**Global Mentorship Programme**

This flagship program has supported over 1,500 women leaders (Rising Stars) with guidance from more than 1,700 mentors across the world. These mentorships focus on self-awareness, goal setting, network expansion, and resilience. Since inception, Wedu has facilitated over 90,000 hours of mentorship and more than 2,400 mentorship matches. As of 2024, 76% of participants say they attribute the successes on their leadership journey to the support they received from Wedu​.

**Introduction to Leadership (ITL) Course**

Wedu’s self-paced ITL course strengthens self-awareness, goal clarity, and agency—particularly among women who face structural and cultural barriers to leadership. Informed by over a decade of programming and global research, the course is contextualized for Asian women and integrates self-reflection, identity formation, and leadership development. By 2025, Wedu aims to reach 25,000 women with multilingual and multimodal versions of this course, scaling up to one million women by 2030 in partnership with The Agency Fund​.

**Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) Programme**

Through its innovative Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) model, Wedu enables women to finance their university education and leadership development without upfront costs. This model aligns repayment with income, ensuring financial flexibility and minimizing risk for the individual. As of 2024, Wedu brought this ISA program fully in-house, increasing operational efficiency and sustainability​

**Women’s Leadership Academy (WLA)**

Wedu has been a key partner in regional programs like the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Women’s Leadership Academy. Through mentorship and community-building, this initiative fosters strategic leadership among emerging changemakers across ASEAN.

**IMPACT AND REACH**

Wedu’s programs have demonstrated measurable impact:

- 75% of mentees report an increased sense of self-belief and confidence in expanding their leadership networks.
- Participants have achieved key milestones including career promotions, launching social ventures, and civic engagement.
- Wedu’s community spans over 30 countries, with a growing digital ecosystem and partnerships across the education, tech, and development sectors.
- Wedu aligns its impact with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), where the highest concentration of community engagement and initiatives are represented.

**ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH AND FUTURE PLANS**

In 2022, Wedu commissioned Bain & Company to conduct a Geographic Expansion Study, assessing market attractiveness and Wedu’s ability to succeed across prospective countries. Based on this analysis, priority countries for expansion—where both factors ranked high—include India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Cambodia, Myanmar, and Nepal were identified for selective expansion. Wedu is now acting on these recommendations by doubling down on our focus in South and Southeast Asia.

In response to major social, political, and economic shifts across South and Southeast Asia, Wedu has identified three concurrent crises affecting women leaders in the region: the Climate Crisis, the Care Economy, and persistent barriers to Economic Empowerment. To ensure our programmes remain relevant and responsive, our External Strategic Priorities for 2025–2027 are focused on directly addressing these challenges. By 2027, we aim to enable 1,000 women leaders to drive climate-resilient solutions; shift how society and women leaders view unpaid care work, recognizing it as a critical factor in advancing women’s leadership; and enhance the economic empowerment of 1,000 women leaders, particularly those leading Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), through capacity-building, education financing, strategic partnerships, and community support.

Wedu will continue to challenge both structural exclusions and internalized limitations faced by women. By integrating self-reflective leadership learning with long-term community and capital support, Wedu aims not just to close the gender gap—but to redefine leadership itself.

Wedu (Thailand) Foundation

Our mission is to protect LGBTQ+ youth in Poland from the harms of homelessness and refugeehood. 

The Warsaw House Foundation's mission is to protect homeless and refugee  LGBTQ+ youth in Poland and provide them with the tools they need to live independently. Our inspiration was the  Ali Forney Center  (AFC)  n NYC, which is largest organization in the world offering support to homeless LGBTQ+ youth. We are honored that Carl Siciliano, the AFC's founder is on the board of the Warsaw House Foundation and works as an advisor. We place extra attention on HIV and STI education, support and prevention with the help of board member Dr. Joanna Kubica and the Smart Life Clinic in Warsaw.  After we took in our first LGBTQ+ youth to house on February 14th, 2023  we have been flooded with calls for housing and support from young people in need.  These are Polish Trans 18 year-olds from the Polish countryside in desperate need to escape their abusive and intolerant homes, young queer people with PTSD and untreated mental illness who need housing and support immediately, LGBTQ+ refugees from Ukraine and several young gay men from Iraq who suffered torture in their homeland, were detained and imprisoned at the Polish/Belarussian border for up to two years, and are now trying to build their lives in Poland.  We are also housing and supporting young LGBTQ+ people from Uganda and Egypt,  We are raising money to support the young people under our care, to house and feed them and pay for their medical needs and courses needed for them to start an independent life,  We are also raising money to hire staff (all of WH's work is now done by volunteers), to continue the renovation of our residential building and for short term emergency rentals.  We have a committed and professional team and a well planned strategy for both emergency and long term care.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Abortion Freedom Fund supports accessible, affordable, evidence-based abortion pills by mail for all. Our mission is to help pregnant people take control of their healthcare and futures by dismantling medicalized control of abortion and encouraging a world where abortion pills are over the counter.

We simplify access to care for patients by funding virtual abortion providers and clinics, individuals accessing telehealth abortions, and reimbursing local funds for telehealth abortion care, allowing them to focus their resources on people seeking procedural abortions in their communities.

Access to healthcare is so much more than an open clinic door.  It is access to clean water, access to education, women’s rights and gender equity, food security, addressing domestic violence, access to functioning roads, transportation systems. Your support is helping CHILA address the many issues that continue to affect health outcomes and access to healthcare in the Chisec community.

COVID-19 response:

In March of 2020, CHILA just completed what would be, unknowingly,  the last annual dental and medical mission with Kindness in Action due to the pandemic.  2 weeks later, the COVID-19 pandemic was declared and the border was closed and just like that, our in-person clinics ceased operations for over a year.   Like all the countries in the world, COVID-19 hit the communities of poor and disenfranchised the hardest.  But the CHILA team of Chisec rised to the occasion.  The team immediately gathered all the reliable scientific information that was being presented and they were one of the first to organize educational videos on virus information and prevention, proper hand washing techniques, and self-care and mental health awareness during quarantine all in the Q’eqchi Maya language.  They organized seamstresses to mass produce masks for the community with proper distancing and mask wearing observed.  They put together and delivered PPE packs to the staff of the local Centro de Salud and delivered food parcels to those communities that were having hardships with food security. Our History and Our Present:

CHILA was started by Brian Smith, MD in the town of Chisec, Guatemala.  Brian served as a member of the Peace Corps in the region and witnessed firsthand the lack of access to healthcare for the population in the area.  Once he returned to the United States, he changed his vocation from engineering to medicine.  He entered medical school and became a physician while concurrently traveling back and forth to Chisec to build and open a medical clinic.  CHILA has grown with the belief that no person should die or be denied healthcare because of where you were born.  After years of providing care to many people in the region, CHILA was recognized as a nonprofit organization in 2019.

Currently, CHILA funds a small group of local medical professionals in Chisec who we pay to provide ongoing  and prescribed care for chronic and complex medical conditions.  Dr. Smith and a contingency of volunteer medical providers from the United States travels to Chisec several times a year to hold clinics in our Chisec location as well as a variety of villages in the region.  During these clinic days, we see cases of varying levels of complexity.  We are able to treat common ailments during these clinic days as well as establish longer term care plans for more complex and chronic issues.  We provide all these services with translators who can speak in the native Q’eqchi language.

Our Mission is to serve as a beacon of hope by providing transitional services and helping women achieve self-sufficiency. Black Butterfly offers an opportunity for women to turn their lives around, accomplish goals, and succeed in whatever they want to do.  

We know these young women are full of talent, power, and gifts. We focus on changing the created systems, interrupt debilitating cycles of suffering, and provide a way out. These young women transform into valuable contributors for their family and our community through love, meaningful relationships, and healing support.

The values of this community are informed by love and respect for one another; trusting relationships, mutual accountability; and healing core hurts.
