**Young Women Emerge (YWE)** was born from a powerful partnership rooted in purpose.

In 2020, two passionate individuals—**Therese Nzale**, from RD Congo, and **Danielle Prince**, from the USA—met when working together in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). What began as professional collaboration quickly evolved into a deep bond grounded in shared values, vision, and a commitment to justice.

Through their work, Therese and Danielle discovered a profound synergy. They realized they were not only effective partners but also co-dreamers with a shared passion: empowering young women to overcome the systemic challenges of gender inequality, poverty, and violence.

In 2024, that passion became a reality. Together, they founded **Young Women Emerge**, a grassroots organization shaped by Therese’s lifelong dream and the urgent needs of girls in the DRC. YWE was created to be a space where girls can reclaim their futures, be mentored, gain skills, and emerge as leaders in their communities.

With over **55 years of combined experience** promoting human rights, education, and women’s empowerment, Therese and Danielle bring a legacy of advocacy to YWE. Their work spans continents and causes, but their focus remains constant: to support girls and young women in building lives of strength, purpose, and possibility.

YWE is the result of years of vision, trust, and collaboration. It represents what’s possible when women come together to build something bold—something that doesn't just serve, but transforms. Because when one young woman emerges, communities change—and the future begins to shift.

Empowering Palestinians since 1983 through education, culture and relief programs in Palestine and beyond. Together, we build hope

**Taawon (Welfare Association)** is a **non-profit**, **civic organization** launched in **Geneva** in the year **1983**, upon the initiative of a group of **Palestinian and Arab economists** and intellectuals.
**Taawon has become one of the largest organizations operating in Palestine and the diaspora camps in Lebanon**, whereby it touches the lives of **more than one million Palestinians** on an annual basis, with half of these beneficiaries being **women**.
**Since its establishment, Taawon has invested funds reaching nearly US $900 million, dedicated to development and relief programs.**

**Taawon’s record** over the past 40 years reflects a journey full of achievements reinforced by **strong partnerships**.

Wedu supports women leaders in Asia through mentorship, leadership development, and financial support. 

**Wedu** is a not-for-profit social enterprise on a mission to nurture the next generation of women leaders in Asia. Founded in 2012, Wedu was born out of a desire to address the vast gender leadership gap that persists globally—and is especially stark in Asia, where it is projected to take 189 years to reach full gender parity, compared to the global average of 131 years. Wedu envisions "a world where half of all leaders are women," and works toward this by removing barriers to leadership and enabling women to rise through access to community, capital, and capability.

**HISTORY AND MISSION**

Wedu began with a fundamental insight: that the barriers to women’s leadership are not solely external, but deeply internalized, often rooted in cultural, familial, and social expectations. Over more than a decade, Wedu has developed a community-centered model that supports women at various stages of their leadership journeys—whether they are just discovering their potential or advancing complex career or civic goals.

Wedu’s consolidated mission is to empower women leaders through:

**PROGRAMMES**

Wedu’s approach is both high-touch and scalable, combining personalized mentorship with technology-enabled leadership learning.

**Global Mentorship Programme**

This flagship program has supported over 1,500 women leaders (Rising Stars) with guidance from more than 1,700 mentors across the world. These mentorships focus on self-awareness, goal setting, network expansion, and resilience. Since inception, Wedu has facilitated over 90,000 hours of mentorship and more than 2,400 mentorship matches. As of 2024, 76% of participants say they attribute the successes on their leadership journey to the support they received from Wedu​.

**Introduction to Leadership (ITL) Course**

Wedu’s self-paced ITL course strengthens self-awareness, goal clarity, and agency—particularly among women who face structural and cultural barriers to leadership. Informed by over a decade of programming and global research, the course is contextualized for Asian women and integrates self-reflection, identity formation, and leadership development. By 2025, Wedu aims to reach 25,000 women with multilingual and multimodal versions of this course, scaling up to one million women by 2030 in partnership with The Agency Fund​.

**Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) Programme**

Through its innovative Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) model, Wedu enables women to finance their university education and leadership development without upfront costs. This model aligns repayment with income, ensuring financial flexibility and minimizing risk for the individual. As of 2024, Wedu brought this ISA program fully in-house, increasing operational efficiency and sustainability​

**Women’s Leadership Academy (WLA)**

Wedu has been a key partner in regional programs like the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Women’s Leadership Academy. Through mentorship and community-building, this initiative fosters strategic leadership among emerging changemakers across ASEAN.

**IMPACT AND REACH**

Wedu’s programs have demonstrated measurable impact:

- 75% of mentees report an increased sense of self-belief and confidence in expanding their leadership networks.
- Participants have achieved key milestones including career promotions, launching social ventures, and civic engagement.
- Wedu’s community spans over 30 countries, with a growing digital ecosystem and partnerships across the education, tech, and development sectors.
- Wedu aligns its impact with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), where the highest concentration of community engagement and initiatives are represented.

**ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH AND FUTURE PLANS**

In 2022, Wedu commissioned Bain & Company to conduct a Geographic Expansion Study, assessing market attractiveness and Wedu’s ability to succeed across prospective countries. Based on this analysis, priority countries for expansion—where both factors ranked high—include India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Cambodia, Myanmar, and Nepal were identified for selective expansion. Wedu is now acting on these recommendations by doubling down on our focus in South and Southeast Asia.

In response to major social, political, and economic shifts across South and Southeast Asia, Wedu has identified three concurrent crises affecting women leaders in the region: the Climate Crisis, the Care Economy, and persistent barriers to Economic Empowerment. To ensure our programmes remain relevant and responsive, our External Strategic Priorities for 2025–2027 are focused on directly addressing these challenges. By 2027, we aim to enable 1,000 women leaders to drive climate-resilient solutions; shift how society and women leaders view unpaid care work, recognizing it as a critical factor in advancing women’s leadership; and enhance the economic empowerment of 1,000 women leaders, particularly those leading Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), through capacity-building, education financing, strategic partnerships, and community support.

Wedu will continue to challenge both structural exclusions and internalized limitations faced by women. By integrating self-reflective leadership learning with long-term community and capital support, Wedu aims not just to close the gender gap—but to redefine leadership itself.

Open Doors English is an English as a Second Language Program for adults in Ithaca, NY. All students are welcome!

Open Doors English's mission is to “offer English classes so that adults can participate fully in community life, advocate and care for themselves and their families, and pursue their goals.” Our student body is comprised of immigrants, refugees, asylum-seekers, farm workers, and temporary residents. All students are welcome, and ODE has served 200-300 students per year since opening in 2019. 

At Open Doors English, students:
- Develop or improve their ability to speak, read, write, and listen in English
- Build the confidence needed to communicate effectively in everyday life situations.
- Learn communication and language skills to perform in current and future jobs
- Acquire advanced language skills and training to pursue educational opportunities
- Increase their understanding of American culture and society

- Connect with people, organizations, and events in the Ithaca area

Black Butterfly Women Services provides support for justice involved young women seeking the opportunity to transform their life.

Our Vision is for each woman to live in a world where a mistake could lead to an unbelievable success story. Our Mission is to serve as a beacon of hope by providing transitional services and helping women achieve self-sufficiency. Black Butterfly offers an opportunity for women to turn their lives around, accomplish goals, and succeed in whatever they want to do.  

We know these young women are full of talent, power, and gifts. We focus on changing the created systems, interrupt debilitating cycles of suffering, and provide a way out. These young women transform into valuable contributors for their family and our community through love, meaningful relationships, and healing support.

The values of this community are informed by love and respect for one another; trusting relationships, mutual accountability; and healing core hurts.

A safe, affordable home with community meals along with healing circles, career development, mentoring, and life coaching sessions

Sass Go is a nonprofit that protects and supports survivors, their families, and the professionals who serve them.   

SASS Go's work ensures prevention education and support for survivors of physical and sexual violence, their families, and the professionals who serve them. That work has served over 30,000 people on four continents since receiving its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2019. The future of SASS Go includes a state-of-the-art campus in the Midlands of South Carolina, which we lovingly call The Banks. Fundraising efforts for this legacy project are underway now. Opal Health is an NGO advancing community-led approaches for maternal and newborn health across East Africa.

Opal Health is a non-profit dedicated to saving the lives of mothers and newborn babies in Uganda. It does this through bringing communities together, teaching them about health issues and supporting them to solve their biggest challenges. 

Every **7 seconds**, a woman or newborn dies due to complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. This crisis is most severe in sub-Saharan Africa, where over **200,000 mothers** and **1 million newborns** die annually from preventable causes. Over **70%** of these deaths are preventable with simple solutions; they occur not because care is unavailable, but because it arrives **too late**. 

In rural communities in eastern Uganda, women face barriers such as misinformation about their health, lack of transport to health facilities, and unsupportive cultural attitudes, which turn manageable complications like **hemorrhage, infection, or obstructed labor** into fatal events. These are hard problems to solve from the top-down and these are the hardest communities to reach. Hospitals and health professionals tell us that when women reach care, it is often too late.

**This is why we started Opal Health.** We believe that too many mothers and newborns are still dying from causes that can be prevented with the right support at the right time. We are working with the hardest to reach and poorest villages where there is limited support. 

**Our goal in 2026 is simple:** to reach over 500 pregnant women in eastern Uganda and ensure they have a safe and healthy birth. 

We achieve this through **Participatory Learning and Action** **(PLA)**, a proven, community-driven method that is recommended by the World Health Organisation and shown to reduce maternal mortality by 49% and neonatal mortality by 33%. We will partner with the Ugandan Ministry of Health to equip frontline Community Health Workers to deliver this programme to 500 women in 20 villages. These solutions are often straightforward, but they save lives: for example, improving hygiene practices to reduce newborn infections, establishing small savings schemes for emergency transport, or using simple data to help identify high-risk pregnancies sooner. 

Your donation enables the training, materials, and follow-up needed to launch and sustain these community groups. It costs just $8 to organise and run a community group. With $105 we can reach a new community, helping another 500 people. We need to raise $30,000 in 2026 to make sure we can continue to help women and babies in need.

Civil laws are designed to guarantee certain legal rights for all U.S. citizens. However, without meaningful access to the courts, these laws are merely words on paper. Legal Aid ensures that justice is within reach for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay for an attorney.

Legal Aid, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit law firm, is committed to ensuring justice is not a privilege reserved for the wealthy, but a fundamental right for everyone, even if they can't afford an attorney. We provide free legal assistance to thousands of individuals and families in Arkansas' 31 northern counties through our six client walk-in offices. Our work helps secure safe housing, protect consumer rights, foster economic stability, and advocate for people escaping domestic violence. We are also home to the Arkansas Fair Housing Project, working to ensure everyone is afforded the protections guaranteed via the Fair Housing Act. Through our co-location with Arkansas Children's Hospital, we help families address the social determinants of health that impact their well-being. myAgro is an award-winning, nonprofit social enterprise helping smallholder farmers in West Africa move out of poverty.

In West Africa, there are more than 60 million smallholder farmers – many of whom live on less than $2 per day. These farmers face a number of challenges that keep them in a cycle of poverty. First, they lack access to secure places to save money. This means at planting time, they are unable to purchase high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and other farm inputs. Because many smallholders in West Africa are dependent on one rainy season per year, their yields and income are vulnerable to climate change as rains become less predictable and temperatures rise. Lastly, many smallholders lack access to the information and training they need to improve soil fertility and increase their yields.

Since 2012, myAgro has provided farmers with a savings tool, high-quality inputs, and the training and support they need to increase farm productivity. myAgro farmers are equipped to improve their yields and income, ensuring their family’s food security and livelihood. The myAgro model includes:

- Mobile Layaway Technology: Farmers save money little by little to purchase myAgro packages. They make payments using mobile money or scratch cards (similar to buying mobile phone credit).
- High-Quality Farm Inputs: Farmers select from rainy and off-season packages of high-quality seeds and fertilizer, tree seedlings, or poultry – which are delivered within or very near villages.
- Climate-Smart Agricultural Training: Farmers receive in-person agriculture training on microdosing fertilizer, organic composting, intercropping, and more – leading to increased soil fertility and higher yields. 
- Year-Round Call Center Support: myAgro Call Centers provide farmers with real-time mobile support to answer questions, including calls made to every farmer to support them during planting season.

The myAgro model creates a powerful impact. Over the last five years on average, myAgro farmers across Mali and Senegal have grown 130% more food and earned $156 more annually than control farmers. For a farmer making $2/day, this represents a 21% increase in annual income.

Because farmers are able to reinvest this income in their farms for the next season, myAgro’s market-based approach to improved food security creates an impact that is sustainable. And because our model is built on mobile technology, it is scalable and replicable.

Importantly, myAgro provides a pathway for women farmers to overcome gender barriers and increase household income. We design our model, packages, and training with women’s needs at the center. In 2024, 70% of all farmers served were women.

Improving health in the Peruvian Andes by training and empowering indigenous women as community health workers. 

Sacred Valley Health is a community-based, public health nonprofit that partners with vibrant, indigenous communities in the Andes of Peru. **Our core purpose is improving  health and well-being in underserved, marginalized communities through a community health worker program that empowers local women with education, resources, professional development, and economic opportunities.** 

Sacred Valley Health works with **marginalized partner communities to increase access to health knowledge and health care while \***providing vocational training to women and elevating them as leaders within their communities\*.\*\* It is often the case in indigenous communities, like SVH’s partner communities in Peru, that older women viewed as community elders are a respected voice when it comes to dictating community norms. ​​Our vision is that by empowering cohorts of women with health education and vocational training and by providing culturally relevant health information and care to the vibrant, indigenous partner communities we partner with, we can help people living in these communities to experience greater health and well-being.  

Since its inception in 2012, Sacred Valley Health has trained more than 100 women as health workers, launched a very successful train-the-trainer program, and developed a customized, comprehensive health education curriculum for visual Quechua-speaking learners. Most importantly, Sacred Valley Health has become a trusted, reputable partner in the local health landscape - among community members, health officials, funders, and other nonprofits - by using a collaborative, participatory approach in their work.

Hammerstone School empowers women and gender minorities through craft trades education. 

Since 2013 Hammerstone School has been fostering self-reliance through an introduction to building skills in a space absent of preconceptions about what we may or may not know or may or may not be capable of.  

[Our courses](https://hammerstoneschool.org/all-categories) are designed to counteract long-standing gender imbalances in the trades. By creating learning environments specifically for women and gender minorities, we offer students a place to explore their capabilities free from judgment or outdated assumptions. From our very first class, this intentional space has received overwhelmingly positive feedback for its impact and approach.

While our regular offerings are reserved for women and non-binary participants, we also offer [**custom workshops** ](https://hammerstoneschool.org/custom-workshops) open to people of all genders. These allow anyone to engage with our curriculum in a format that meets their needs while staying true to our mission of empowerment and inclusion.

At the Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative, we know it is possible to achieve global equality, sustainability and peace. The Collaborative is a unique space for people working inside and outside of government to convene, research and advance feminist approaches to foreign policy. Operating as a secretariat, we support two coalitions: the Global Partner Network for Feminist Foreign Policy and the Coalition for a Feminist Foreign Policy in the United States. The Global Partner Network is an informal body of more than 100 organizations, governments and individuals working on feminist foreign policy around the world; the U.S. Coalition unites more than 80 organizations advancing a more feminist foreign policy in the United States.

GirlTREK began with a simple but life-saving promise between two friends: to walk their way to better health and inspire others to do the same; and it is now a grassroots movement powered by everyday women. We are the women we serve. Now, GirlTrek is mobilizing this constituency for its boldest mission yet: a Care Crusade to extend Black women’s life expectancy by 10 years in a decade. These bold campaigns—scaling to 5 million members, establishing community wellness hubs “Care Villages”, training a Blue Brigade of health responders, and advancing policies to dismantle systemic barriers—will build lasting systems of care and inspire future generations.
