Our programme, delivered in collaboration with under-resourced schools and shelters, offers students the tech skills, confidence, and opportunity to access the jobs of tomorrow and achieve their full potential. We also upskill teachers in public and low-resourced schools to independently deliver coding, robotics & AI education using our STEM.org curriculum through our**** CodePowered Schools Programme across Lebanon.

Established in 2020, Egypt Relief & Aid (ERA) is focused on bringing attention to the development of Egypt through enhancing the socioeconomic, artistic, health, and educational landscapes in urban and rural communities across the country’s regions. As an all women, volunteer run organization, we pass 100% of your donations on to our projects and programs, with no overhead costs. ERA’s mission is to protect the most vulnerable Egyptians, elevate their most pressing concerns, improve their well-being, and promote more cohesive and developed communities through our various initiatives and advocacy programs.

We are currenrly working with Dar El-Sondos, an orphanage for 193 moderate to severe special needs children founded in 2003, with 4 homes throughout Cairo. Your donations go towards areas such as:

Salaries for facility administrators and staff
Utility expenses for the homes

More than 1 in 3 Egyptians live below the poverty line and are experiencing food insecurity. ERA has committed to regular food distribution programs across the Republic. We have partnered with the Egyptian Food Bank to distribute general food vouchers and meat vouchers to needy families.

We are raising funds towards the cost of operating incubators in the neonatal intensive care unit at Cairo's Mersal Foundation Children's Hospital, in support of their efforts to minimize the shortage of critical care equipment. 

Egypt Relief and Aid is also partnering with Mersal Foundation in support of their efforts to add 40 incubators and 6 beds in a new three floor neonatal critical care center. Founded in 2015, Mersal Foundation is a Cairo based NGO that offers quality health care to needy individuals and families, regardless of background, religion, or residency status.

Give Us The Floor nurtures a safe online peer-led community that supports LGBTQ youth in distress in their challenges.

We provide LGBTQ youth in distress with the peer-positive human connection that they are too often missing. We help LGBTQ youth deal with distress through inclusive, innovative and unique online peer Supportive Group Chats that provide constant contact and anonymity in a safe youth-only community, breaking the isolation and shame cycles they are experiencing. Trained youth facilitate the confidential groups and participants help each other with prevalent mental health and social issues such as depression, isolation, anxiety, identity, discrimination, bullying, relationships, domestic violence, and body image. 
Within the Supportive Group Chats:
- Youth in distress from all backgrounds and geographies have 24/7 access to peer support in a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment.
- Members communicate anonymously as often as they wish via closed group chats - no one on one communication is possible
- They share daily life struggles, insights and accomplishments, encourage each other and provide non-judgmental feedback without fear of stigma, taboo or shame
- Groups are organized by age and primary discussion topic to keep the chats relevant and relatable
- Youth who need adult help are quickly identified and given resources to help them.

Research reveals that increased isolation is contributing to the rapid deterioration of mental health and wellbeing. It’s affecting youth way more than adults: Experiencing social isolation and loneliness [during adolescence/ childhood] increased the risk of depression up to 9 years later. *

LGBTQ youth are suffering

50% of LGBTQ youth age 13-17 seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year and 18% of them did attempt suicide:**
LGBTQ youth of color reported higher rates than their white peers: 12% of white youth attempted suicide compared to 21% of Native / Indigenous youth, 20% of Middle Eastern / Northern African youth, 19% of Black youth, 17% of multiracial youth, 16% of Latinx youth, and 12% of Asian / Pacific Islander youth**
LGBTQ youth who had access to spaces that affirmed their sexual orientation and gender identity reported lower rates of attempting suicide **
60% of LGBTQ youth who wanted mental health support in the past year were not able to access care, including nearly 3 in 5 transgender youth and more than 3 in 5 cisgender youth**

In 2022, 87% of Give Us The Floor participants reported suffering from anxiety, 74% from loneliness, 73% from depression, 54% from self-harm and 59% had suicidal thoughts.

After only 1 month in the program:
- 91% of the participants reported that the group chat had helped with their struggles - 79% say they are not sure or sure they couldn’t have gotten the help from somewhere else
- 84% reported that the group chat had helped them feel less lonely
- 79% reported that the group chat had improved the way they feel about themselves

- 99% of the participants reported that they feel that their group is a safe place
- 92% reported that they feel comfortable sharing their personal challenges

Sahaba Initiative an award-winning nonprofit that elevates vulnerable families in the Inland empire to break cycles of poverty. 

Sahaba Initiative is a nonprofit that was started 15 years ago by a group of driven high school students that wanted to create change in their local community. It began by providing small consistent acts of good such as gathering funds to assist a vulnerable family, hosting mental health support groups, and distributing groceries. Today our mission is to transform communities and support families in crisis through addressing core areas in housing, hunger, economic stability, and well-being.

We achieve this we have three community centers which include a family resource center a food and wellness center, and mental health center. Our team provides fresh food to over 350 families every week, assists hundreds of people with free counseling , and distributes over $250,000 in zakat and financial assistance every year.

We're a feminist, activist-led fund building collective organized power for migrant justice across and beyond European borders.

SAFE PASSAGE FUND supports the work of grassroots, frontline, and migrant-led initiatives to address the growing phenomenon of forced displacement across and beyond Europe.

We seek to build collectively organized power for migrant justice, envisioning a world where everyone has the freedom to move, to stay, to work, to study, to thrive, and to belong. To do this, we resource grassroots grantee partners who address the root causes and harmful impacts of anti-rights EU migration policies while centering the autonomy of people on the move. All funding is allocated by a rotating Board of voluntary, queer-feminist activists from human rights and migrant justice organizations.

As a project hosted at the infrastructural organisation Civilfleet-Support, we were born naturally from the bottom-up in late 2019. A crowdfunding campaign for the unlawful arrest of a German activist became a tool to democratize the redistribution of wealth within the pan-European migrant justice ecosystem. Your funding ensures that this power-critical, participatory work can continue.
