I am donating to the Defending Our Neighbors Fund because the relentless and violent efforts by this country's administration on our immigrant population cannot and should not be allowed to continue unimpeded. Immigrants make our country great. Our communities rely on our neighbors and it makes me sick to see how immigrants and people of color in general are being treated by our government. My hope is that my donation can help combat the utter inhumanity taking place in this country right now, even if it's only a small act. Thank you for doing what's right and defending our neighbors.

I've seen the difficulty my family members have faced to achieve legal residency and citizenship in a system designed to fail them. My family, neighborhood, and workplace are better because of immigration. I believe that everyone deserves representation in court regardless of status. I believe it is a moral failing of our country that children and the vulnerable must appear unaccompanied. The current regime and fascist pedagogs want to make us believe that immigrants and asylum seekers are our enemies and have purposefully created a nation-wide crisis to make their lies appear true. I refuse to ignore the evidence of my eyes -- my immigrant family and friends and colleagues make my community better and richer. Not our government. I'm contributing so that more people have access to the resources they need to navigate the system and become thriving members of this country. Politicians won't do it. But I'll contribute what I can.

Help make MDMA an approved medicine for PTSD. Historically, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been notoriously difficult to treat and cure, but MDMA-assisted psychotherapy holds incredible promise. In trials with 107 participants, 56% no longer qualified for PTSD. At the 12-month follow-up, 67% no longer had PTSD. Most subjects received just 2–3 sessions. All participants had chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD and had suffered from PTSD for an average of 17.8 years.

This is addressing the root causes of PTSD and not simply masking symptoms, as many maintenance drugs do. It’s actual processing instead of numbing.

On August 16, 2017, the FDA granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation to MDMA for the treatment of PTSD, and there is a clear path for making MDMA a legal medicine for millions of people who are suffering.

This is the final stretch. MAPS has until September 10 to raise $10 million in order to unlock a $10 million challenge pledge. This, combined with $10 million already committed, will complete the $30 million Capstone Campaign. This will provide the funds needed to complete the studies required for FDA approval, and bring this much-needed treatment to patients.
