We aim to advance the mental wellbeing of our South Asian community.

In 2021, during their freshman year of college, our founders Ravi Parekh and Aaron Pandian suffered the loss of their close friend and roommate, Farhan, in a tragic murder-suicide where he took the lives of himself and his family. 

Farhan was struggling with a variety of inadequately treated mental illnesses. However, like so many members of the South Asian-American community, his parents simply lacked the tools, resources, and education necessary for providing him the care he needed.

They recognized that, as an immigrant South Asian family, they lacked the tools, resources, and education necessary for providing Farhan the care he needed. The tragedy of Farhan and his family revealed that there are many mental health issues unique to the cultural characteristics of South Asians. Understanding that these environmental factors and structural barriers to effective care created the situation which led to this tragedy, we theorized a youth-led grass-roots advocacy and education initiative that equips South Asian youth and other interested parties with access to tools and resources to understand, process, and empower.

Grass-roots efforts are often inspired by lived experiences. Our passion and drive to bridge the gaps in mental health care for South Asian individuals stem from our lived experiences.

Knowledge is empowering, and part of understanding mental health is to both learn and express empathy for those affected who are unable to receive effective care. To learn not to fear mental illness as a sibling, parent, friend, significant other, or affected individual and employ newly acquired tools that work to connect with the resources they need. 

MHISA embodies these ideals and provides us an outlet to engage those around us with a shared goal: to enable South Asians struggling with mental illness to lead better and healthful lives.

The Prison Mathematics Project supports incarcerated individuals pursue self-studies in the field of mathematics.

The Prison Mathematics Project (PMP) brings math into prison in three different ways. 

1. Our one-on-one mentorship program pairs incarcerated individuals with a mathematical mentor. Our mentors are professors, post-docs, PhD students, undergraduates, math teachers, and people working in industry who have a passion for math. Once paired, the mentorship works to reach the educational goals of the incarcerated participant. This is done through letters, e-messaging, and phone calls when available. Deep relationships are formed that continue post-release and are a great way to support the difficult transition back to the outside world. 
2. Math circles in prison are a great way to build a community around math. Local mathematicians go into the prison to lead 1-2 hour events that work on problems solving and analytical thinking skills. Some of the topics explored in these events are combinatorics, number theory, graph theory, etc.  We have done events in Washington, Michigan, North Dakota, and we have upcoming events planned in New Jersey, Calgary, and Toronto. 
3. The PMP Console is a coding app that goes on inmates' tablets. It has a text editor, complier, and courses with exercises and explanations. It has recently been approved for a pilot program at the biggest prison in Australia. Giving people more technical skills and education will lead to better post-release employment and will help lower the recidivism rate.

Providing NYC Public Schools with Training and Resources to Start and Sustain Student Journalism Programs and Publications

Press Pass NYC equips under-resourced NYC public schools with free faculty training, student resources and program support to launch or revive a student news publication – and keep it running. Our goal is to level the playing field in a city where a 2022 Baruch College study found 93 of the 100 highest poverty high schools had no student newspaper. Working on a news team gives teens the opportunity to develop their curiosity and passion by writing about topics that interest them, developing critical thinking, teamwork and leadership along with media literacy.

Since 2021, we’ve helped 30 NYC public schools start or revive a student news publication, online or in print, with 14 more coming in the 2025-26 school year. Every donation goes toward supporting these budding news teams through fellowships for teachers and students.

At **Remark Navigation,** we are dedicated to providing formerly incarcerated students with wide-ranging academic support until they have met their educational goals. Reentering society after a long prison sentence is never an easy process and transitioning from college-in-prison to college on traditional campuses comes with its own unique barriers. Our team works alongside recently released students in wide-ranging individual sessions to talk about goals and plans, put together college and graduate applications, research and apply for funding, work on digital skill-building, address student-professor dynamics, and talk through assignments. While our focus is academic, we also learn from our students about all the pieces that make going back to school feel possible or out of reach, like family, housing, money, transportation, jobs, and mental health. While we are clear with our students that we do not provide direct traditional reentry services, we are able to offer students limited emergency funds up to $1,000 from our “In My Corner” fund. We also connect students with reentry support resources in our network.

ICAF’s Arts Olympiad has evolved over the years into the world’s largest school art program. Its structured lesson plans culminate in art contests on the theme "My Favorite Sport." ICAF selects the most exceptional artworks and invites the young Artists-Athletes as delegates to the World Children’s Festival. The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee has granted ICAF an exclusive license to utilize the "Arts Olympiad" mark.

The 7th Arts Olympiad, currently taking place in the United States and nearly fifty countries, is projected to benefit more than half a million students worldwide. [**World Children’s Festival**](https://WorldChildrensFestival.org)
The World Children’s Festival (WCF) offers a transformative experience, infusing creativity with empathy to give them hope. While learning is a biological process that creates new neural connections, developing empathy necessitates unlearning ingrained biases and prejudices to activate the “mirror neurons” that underpin empathetic responses. As empathy flourishes, divisions diminish, polarization lessens, consensus emerges, nations come together, and the world becomes more peaceful. The educational programming for this three-day public celebration of children's talents is rooted in STEAMS education, an innovative approach developed by ICAF that integrates Arts and Sports into the STEM disciplines. The 7th World Children’s Festival, held at the National Mall from June 30 to July 2, 2026, will also serve as the children's celebration of America's 250th birthday. 

**Other Art Programs**
ICAF occasionally organizes [Peace through Art Programs](https://icaf.org/mission/peace-through-art) to restore the trust in humanity of children in conflict zones and [Healing Art Programs](https://icaf.org/mission/healing-arts-program) to revive faith in nature of child victims of natural disasters. **Sport Art Exhibitions**
As the largest children’s art organization, ICAF curates exhibitions worldwide to bring its unprecedented collection to significant venues and museums. **Art & Sports Online Contests**
To engage children worldwide in the LA28 Olympics, ICAF has launched an online art contest for students aged 8 to 20. Shri Sant Singaji Educational Society (SSES) empowers rural youth, especially rural girls, in Sandalpur.

History and Mission

Rural youth is a vast pool of untapped potential. Sadly, bright girls are made to sit at home, after school, due to rampant gender discrimination. Lack of awareness, prevailing social norms, etc. act as major deterrents to access of GIRLS to higher education. In a 70-km radius of Sandalpur, the number of students passing 12th Standard exceeds 8,000 annually. After that 33% (ASAR REPORT) of student dropped their education, and they do not enroll in their higher education.



Rural India is devoid of quality educational institutions and good teachers. Affluent rural youth go to nearby cities for education. Unable to cope with the medium (English) and the lifestyle, they return to their villages to join the ranks of unemployed youth, often getting into illegal activities. SSISM seeks to address this problem.



Sant Singaji Educational Society (SSES) was established in 2010, to create social and economic transformation in one of the most backward areas of the country, i.e. Sandalpur, District Dewas Madhya Pradesh (Gondwana area of Madhya Pradesh). 



The institute was founded by Mr. Pranjal Dubey, who left a high-profile job as a project manager at SAP Labs in Bangalore to address the pressing issue of inadequate education facilities in his native village, Sandalpur. His mission was to uplift local youth from poverty through education. 



SSES aims to be the leading rural educational organization dedicated to imparting skill-based training that empowers youth to become self-reliant, socially responsible, and employable. The society’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty and create opportunities for young people, fostering their growth as individuals and contributing to the overall development of their communities. Under this project, the organization is providing free education to 150 needy students every year. By fostering a supportive atmosphere through resources, mentorship, and community engagement, the project innovatively tackles the root cause of limited opportunities with a focus on enhancing employability, empowering individuals and contributing to the overall economic development of rural areas, making it a comprehensive and impactful initiative.  

Goals and Target Population:

SSES is dedicated to transforming the lives of rural youth in the Dewas, Sehore, and Harda districts of Madhya Pradesh. Its primary focus is on providing education and skill-based training to students aged 17 to 21 who have passed their 12th-grade exams. These young individuals represent a vast, untapped pool of potential that, when harnessed, can drive significant social and economic progress in their communities.

The institution's overarching Management aims to address the specific needs of rural communities by bridging educational gaps and empowering rural youth with practical skills essential for their personal and professional growth. The institute's measurable project objectives include expanding access to quality education by enrolling 15,000 students by 2030 and transforming the area into a "Singaji Educational Village." It seeks to enhance employability through a curriculum focused on Information Technology, Management, and Biotechnology, to equip 90% of students with practical skills that align with industry demands. 

Challenges Faced by Rural Youth:

Rural youth face numerous obstacles that hinder their access to higher education and employment opportunities. In the Sandalpur region alone, more than 8,000 students pass the 12th standard each year, yet the area lacks quality educational institutions and skilled teachers. After that 33% (ASAR REPORT) of student dropped their education, and they do not enroll in their higher education. Many affluent rural students who seek education in nearby cities struggle with the English medium and urban lifestyle, often returning to their villages and joining the ranks of the unemployed. This situation is compounded by gender discrimination, with many bright girls being made to stay home after school, unable to pursue further education due to societal expectations.

Without access to quality education, these youths are left vulnerable to unemployment and the lure of illegal activities, perpetuating a cycle of poverty and limited opportunities. SSES seeks to address these challenges by providing a structured, phased approach to education and skill development that prepares students for the professional world.

Past and Current Activities:

To bring about the socio-economic transformation of rural society by imparting high-quality holistic education to rural youth, we have adopted three programs which are ITEG (Information Technology Excellence Group), BEG (Bio Excellence Group), and MEG (Management Excellence Group). 



In three programs, we follow a three-level certification process where students go through various skill development and certification.  In the above-mentioned process, we enhance Academic quality education about the subject, which is prescribed by the university. In practical skills training the students get the knowledge of delivering content by using practical aspects and soft skills. Technical training, here students get technical training like- developing programs, designing websites, etc. which is required for companies. 

 

 When students complete the above training modulation, we provide them with future options in 3 ways:



	Post-Graduation- we prepare students and motivate them to do their post-graduation at Azim Premji University, IIM, Chennai Business School, etc.  



	EMPLOYMENT- For students who want to do a job after their graduation and be able to be financially independent we train them for IT companies and make sure they get jobs in reputed companies, such as Wipro, HSBC, TCS, CAP GEMINI.  



	Entrepreneurship- A Few Students express their interest in entrepreneurship. we encourage such students to get proper training with the help of some NGOs who train the students like Udhyam Learning Foundation, Karya NGO, etc. 



We have 5 IT companies working on the campus, which are:

Singaji software solution,  AWNS, Finezza, Trilliant Digital, and Tofrum 



Future Planned Activities

SSES is committed to expanding its impact in the coming years, with plans to enhance its educational programs and develop new initiatives that address the evolving needs of rural youth. 

1. Expanding Reach and Accessibility: SSES aims to increase its outreach to more rural areas, ensuring that students who are currently unable to access quality education have the opportunity to benefit from its programs. 

2. Industry Partnerships and Internship Programs: To better prepare students for the job market, SSES plans to establish partnerships with various industries, creating internship opportunities that provide hands-on experience. These collaborations will help students gain practical skills and enhance their employability.

3. Skill Development for Emerging Industries: As industries evolve, so too must the skills that SSES imparts to its students. The society is working to develop training modules in emerging fields such as digital marketing, data analysis, and renewable energy, ensuring that students are equipped with skills relevant to the current job market.

4. Entrepreneurship Development Programs: To foster self-employment and innovation, SSES plans to introduce entrepreneurship training programs that guide students in starting their businesses. This will include mentoring, access to resources, and support in developing business plans, helping students become job creators rather than job seekers.

5. Alumni Network and Mentorship: SSES is developing an alumni network to connect current students with past graduates who have successfully navigated higher education and the job market. This mentorship program will provide guidance, inspiration, and practical advice, creating a supportive community that extends beyond the classroom.

Geo Baker Go Beyond Foundation aims to bridge the opportunity gap among youth in underserved communities by providing athlete-driven service programs and training designed to unlock their greatest potential on and off the court, through charitable acts and partnerships.

Our goal is to partner with like-minded non-profits, schools, community/recreation centers to carry out our 4 pillars: 

SOCIAL RESPONSBILITY
Acquiring a sense of purpose and connectedness, while contributing positively to the development of underserved communities through dedicated, charitable service.

Provide underserved communities with programs that allow us to develop our youth to their fullest potential, socially, physically and mentally.

Partnering with charities on initiatives that focus on youth sports inclusion, the whole person, and the development of underserved communities in NJ.

Raising awareness among the community by leveraging communication channels highlighting charities via volunteer work supported by social media campaigns featuring role models that positively influence society.

ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT 
Providing training for youth to grow and develop, using knowledge from playing at the highest level, thus putting student-athletes in the best position to succeed on and off the court.

Conduct basketball clinics for local youth players, consisting of fundamental basketball drills, speed/agility drills, and educate on the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Sponsorhip of youth sports teams in underserved NJ communities

Collection and donation of athletic equipment to youth sports teams and NJ schools in need

Host annual events that will benefit local communities (ie. 3 x 3 tournament, shooting contests, etc)

Connect youth to appropriate AAU/travel teams to help further their level of play and exposure.

EDUCATION 
Supporting the development and growth of students to foster success in the classroom and in life, laying the foundation for future academic achievement, as well as mental health and physical wellness.

Utilize collegiate student-athletes organizations for tutoring services to empower the youth through education.

Partnership programs that include health and wellness education to ensure that kids live a healthy and productive life.

Partner with sports psychologists on the importance of mental health among student athletes.

Workshops highlighting the pros and cons of social media, as it applies to student-athletes.
Lecture series on what it takes to be an elite student athlete (on and off the court) consisting of topics such as:

 - Importance of Academics/Scholarships, etc

MENTORSHIP
Playing a vital role in underserved communities by providing leadership and guidance to youth in both basketball and life.

Motivational lecture series to prepare our youth to succeed in on and off the court consisting of:
 - Teaching and inspiring leadership
 - Focus on teaching players a different mental skill to apply to their daily lives and athletic endeavors.
 - Equip youth with the tools and strategies they need to boost their confidence, respond to adversity, resilience, overcome obstacles, and achieve greater success in all areas of their lives.
 - Strengthen their minds and shift their mindset to optimize growth and development

We can’t fully rely on schools - In 2022, the Physical Activity Alliance gave schools nationwide a grade of D– for physical fitness, reflecting MINIMAL access to regular physical education classes, gym time and equipment.

ABOUT GEO BAKER 
Since graduating from Rutgers University, Geo Baker has continued to conduct himself with the same drive and intensity that helped him excel on the basketball court and in the classroom. Only now has he shifted that energy towards entrepreneurial and business endeavors.

In addition to The Geo Baker Go Beyond Foundation, Baker has established GB Go Beyond, a NJ-based basketball training program that helps middle school and high school athletes unlock their fullest potential on and off the court.

REACH supports graduating high school seniors that do not have the financial means to pay for their graduation fees. 

REACH raises funds for a graduating high school senior’s graduation fee (cap, gown, tassel, and sometimes a senior fee) and for The Ryan Underwood Serfas Scholarship (TRUSS) which is a tailored scholarship designed to provide financial assistance to high school graduating seniors to ensure recipients can fully participate in and cherish the milestones of their senior year. Our mission is to alleviate this burden and empower each recipient to embrace their senior year to the fullest.
