**Skill Building**

The ongoing, global War on Drugs has been justified by bad science, racism, and fear for too long: it has led to mass incarceration; erosion of civil liberties; ecological damage; economic waste; and the public health polycrisis of adulteration, poisoning, and overdose. Many of these harmful effects have disproportionately impacted the most historically exploited and oppressed communities. Consequently, we believe societies worldwide have an obligation to account for and repair those harms, to the extent possible.

QuestBridge creates programs for talented low-income students to access exceptional educational and life opportunities.

QuestBridge has successfully shaped the lives of the most promising, low-income students in the nation and has helped them unlock billions in scholarships.

Every year, there are over 30,000 outstanding high school students from low-income backgrounds who are academically qualified to attend the nation’s top colleges. Over 80% of them do not apply to even ONE selective college and they remain highly under-represented on leading college campuses.

Many of these promising students assume they can’t afford an education at a top college. Others lack the education about what it takes to apply to a selective college, or simply assume they can’t be admitted.

When low-income students miss the opportunity to apply to and attend great colleges, this has a profound effect on their futures. Many end up reaching below their actual academic potential, or they don't attend college at all. Of those who attend college, most don't graduate.

This vast amount of untapped talent equates to a staggering loss in human potential. As America strives to remain competitive in our global society, promising students from across the economic spectrum are vital to the wealth and future of our nation-at-large.

Using innovative data methods to target and reach thousands of high-achieving, low-income students, we provide programs that help students reach their fullest potential, which could include attending a top-tier college on a full scholarship. We also provide these students with ongoing resources and a supportive community of Scholars to help them thrive in college and beyond.

TapIN channels the energy and enthusiasm of tap dancing back into the community to invoke positive social change.

TapIN Youth Dance Ensemble is dedicated to **expanding access to high-quality tap dance training in underrepresented communities**. We believe every child deserves the chance to experience the joy, discipline, and creative expression that come from rhythm and movement—regardless of financial or geographic barriers.

Through **free tap classes, school partnerships, mentorships, and performances**, TapIN builds a bridge between world-class tap education and the students who need it most. Our growing network includes ongoing enrichment programs at the East Oakland Youth Development Center, public school workshops, and collaborative showcases that bring students from diverse backgrounds together on the same stage.

Since our founding, TapIN has **collected over 500 pairs of tap shoes** for redistribution and raised **more than $18,000** through our annual Bay Area Tapathon to fund free community programming. Looking ahead, we’re developing a **scholarship initiative** that will provide Bay Area dance studios with resources to train talented young dancers who would otherwise be unable to afford tap education.

Sala Baï Hospitality School was created in 2002 to offer 1 year, all included training to underprivileged young Cambodians (70% women). The school welcomes 150 students every year in 5 different departments: Food Production, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping or Beauty Therapy. All the costs inherent in their training year (accommodation, teaching, food, medical care, uniforms, school supplies, transport...) are covered by the school.

Empowering Youth in Cambodia helps disadvantaged urban youth access education, personal growth, and leadership opportunities.

Cambodia's youth demographic is one of the youngest in Southeast Asia, with over 60% of the population under 30. This rapid youth growth presents both a significant opportunity and a considerable challenge for the country’s future development.

**Empowering Youth in Cambodia (EYC)**, founded in 2006, focuses specifically on one of the most vulnerable segments of this youth population—those living in disadvantaged urban communities in Phnom Penh. Most parents of EYC students work in informal sectors as factory workers, waste pickers, tuk-tuk drivers, or street vendors, earning only a modest daily income—typically between $5 and $8. These jobs are unstable and lack job security, often leaving families living on less than $200 per month. Many of these young people are first-generation learners, balancing studies and work often without family support. Additionally, they face limited access to quality education and stable employment opportunities.

**EYC’s mission is to empower these youth through education, personal development, and leadership opportunities—helping them break the cycle of poverty and become active, contributing citizens.** 

Starting small with English and computer classes in Phnom Penh, EYC quickly grew into a respected NGO, reaching over 800 youth annually. Alumni became the organization’s backbone—returning as staff members, volunteers, and role models, creating a powerful youth-to-youth cycle of empowerment. 

Over the years, EYC expanded to multiple community centers, added programs like scholarships, leadership training, life skills, sports, arts, and STEM education. The scholarship program, in particular, has helped many students become the first in their families to graduate from high school and attend university. 

Today, EYC operates three vibrant community centers in Phnom Penh, offering a range of programs:

- **English, digital literacy, and STEM courses,** including coding and robotics
- **Scholarship support** for high school and university students
- **Leadership development** to build communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
- **Life skills and extracurricular activities** in sports, arts, and mental health initiatives
- **Career guidance** and employability support
- **Volunteer and community engagement opportunities** with local and international partners

EYC’s holistic approach promotes not only academic skills but also confidence, resilience, and leadership. Its partnerships with other NGOs, the private sector, and educational institutions have expanded impact and trust within communities.

At the Transformative Justice Center, and our flagship prison program - Empathy in Action, we see past the person’s history and focus on their potential. By providing crucial support and resources, we aspire to drastically reduce recidivism and help individuals reclaim their lives. At its core, transformative justice works to transform relationships, institutions and systems historically founded in oppression, marginalization, and violence into ones grounded in restoration, respect, and responsibility.

We believe that everyone deserves a chance to be seen, heard, and understood regardless of background, race, class, socio-economic status, political or/and religious views. We know that most if not all people in prison come from painful, traumatic backgrounds, from victims to victimizers. We work to transform prison spaces into places focused on higher education, healing, whole body wellness, accountability and respect. We see that within every human being there exists the possibility to grow, to change, and to transform with the right tools and interventions. We are committed to building bridges being the public and our incarcerated community in order to learn, understand and humanize those most impacted by familial and societal harms.

Open Doors English is an English as a Second Language Program for adults in Ithaca, NY. All students are welcome!

Open Doors English's mission is to “offer English classes so that adults can participate fully in community life, advocate and care for themselves and their families, and pursue their goals.” Our student body is comprised of immigrants, refugees, asylum-seekers, farm workers, and temporary residents. All students are welcome, and ODE has served 200-300 students per year since opening in 2019. 

At Open Doors English, students:
- Develop or improve their ability to speak, read, write, and listen in English
- Build the confidence needed to communicate effectively in everyday life situations.
- Learn communication and language skills to perform in current and future jobs
- Acquire advanced language skills and training to pursue educational opportunities

Security: Quad9 blocks against known malicious domains, preventing your computers and IoT devices from connecting to malware or phishing sites. Whenever a Quad9 user clicks on a website link or types in an address into a web browser, Quad9 checks the site against a list of domains combined from 20+ different threat intelligence partners. Each threat intelligence partner supplies a list of malicious domains based on their heuristics which examine such factors as scanned malware discovery, network IDS past behaviors, visual object recognition, optical character recognition (OCR), structure and linkages to other sites, and individual reports of suspicious or malicious behavior. Based on the results, Quad9 resolves or denies the lookup attempt, preventing connections to malicious sites when there is a match.

Performance: Quad9 systems are distributed worldwide in over 200 locations in 90 nations, with more coming online daily. These servers are located primarily at Internet Exchange points, meaning that the distance and time required to get answers is lower than almost any other solution. Rebuilding roofs in underserved communities throughout Puerto Rico while providing carpentry training to local residents.

Our mission is twofold: We rebuild damaged roofs in under-served communities throughout Puerto Rico, while providing residents with basic carpentry training. This approach helps improve living conditions by improving housing and addressing the shortage of skilled construction workers on the island.

At PRoTechos, our approach to rebuilding involves working closely with the communities we serve. We network with local community leaders, other non-profits, and municipalities to locate the most urgent cases, and we focus on helping residents who do not have the financial resources to hire help for roof repairs. We prioritize homes with children, elderly, and sick or disabled occupants.

Once we have identified a candidate for roof replacement, we assess the roof. Our work is limited to roof repairs or reconstruction of metal roofs. If the homeowner and the roof qualify, our project manager performs a detailed assessment, taking measurements and creating a scope of work. Once release forms are signed, our project manager orders the lumber and other roofing materials, and works with the foreman to schedule the project.

Depending on the size of the roof and extent of the damage, it can take a team of two to four people between two and 10 days to complete. Rain often interrupts our schedule; for safety reasons, we do not allow anyone on a roof when it is wet. In all, each roof costs an average of $10,000 to complete, including materials and labor.

Carpentry and construction work are done by skilled carpenters and trainees who participate in our carpentry apprenticeship program.

Providing NYC Public Schools with Training and Resources to Start and Sustain Student Journalism Programs and Publications

Press Pass NYC equips under-resourced NYC public schools with free faculty training, student resources and program support to launch or revive a student news publication – and keep it running. Our goal is to level the playing field in a city where a 2022 Baruch College study found 93 of the 100 highest poverty high schools had no student newspaper. Working on a news team gives teens the opportunity to develop their curiosity and passion by writing about topics that interest them, developing critical thinking, teamwork and leadership along with media literacy.

Since 2021, we’ve helped 30 NYC public schools start or revive a student news publication, online or in print, with 14 more coming in the 2025-26 school year. Every donation goes toward supporting these budding news teams through fellowships for teachers and students.

For example:

- $250 funds a stipend for a Student Journalism Leader
- $500 funds an hands-on journalism workshop for students
- $1000 funds a Journalism Adviser Fellow's first year stipend 
- $2000 funds one year of journalism supplies and resources for a student news team                                              
- $25,000 fully funds three-years of program support for a school news team to ensure sustainability.

The Fondation Pro-mahJ contributes to the development of the collections of the Musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaisme in Paris.

The Fondation pour le musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme (Pro mahJ), in Paris, was created in 2003 on the initiative of Claire Maratier, daughter of painter Michel Kikoïne (1892-1968), to promote the work of artists from the École de Paris and mobilize its resources in support of the mahJ. As an essential supporter of the enrichment of the mahJ's collections and the promotion of its heritage and activities, the foundation is committed to supporting contemporary artists whose work is rooted in the École de Paris and resonates with the mahJ's collections.
Your support will help preserve one of the finest collections of works of art and objects illustrating the heritage of Jewish culture in Europe and around the Mediterranean, from Antiquity to the present day, preserved and hosted by the musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme (mahJ), as well as strengthening the museum's activities, particularly its educational initiatives. We establish environments and build relationships where community volunteers can provide food and clothing, as well as referrals for shelter, addiction recovery, and other personal support.

Street Life Ministries (or SLM) began in 2001 at the downtown Menlo Park train station. Today, due to the help of many people, it now serves over 35,000 meals a year, five nights a week, in Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Redwood City. For 20 years SLM gatherings have built a reputation as the one consistent place the homeless can count on. Whether it is a holiday, a cloudy or rainy day, SLM never varies from the set schedule, giving the homeless a stable option throughout the year.

SLM is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a board of directors, and is very different from many “feeding ministries.” It serves a unique role in the way it cares for the homeless and the hungry in San Mateo/Santa Clara Counties. Hot, home cooked meals served in outdoor venues are less threatening for our homeless neighbors, fostering a safe environment for relational connections to develop with the SLM leaders and volunteers. These connections build trust for guiding homeless friends toward healthier decisions, medical assistance, detox, rehab, housing, mentorship and counseling. In addition to food and encouragement, SLM provides clothing, toiletry kits, sleeping bags, medical supplies, temporary shelter, recovery services and job assistance to those in need. 

SLM is also unique because it places its staff and its services “in the streets”, and “in the camps”, where the homeless live. It reaches more homeless people directly in those street locations than traditional professional service agencies. Additionally, no other homeless non-profit in the area provides local residents with the large number (over 6000 hours per year, estimated) of volunteer hours of opportunity to meet directly and be served on a face to face basis as we do. Homeless folks need love, care, trustworthy friends, and reliable, regular support to improve and/or recover. SLM is “in the trenches and on the street” every day, helping our homeless neighbors. SLM’s outreach can be accessed at all hours of the day and night.

Launched in 2012, the Fungi Foundation is the first NGO dedicated to the fungi kingdom. Since its inception, it has achieved numerous milestones while dedicating itself to exploring the fungi world in view of increasing knowledge of their diversity, educating about their applications, and recommending public policy for their conservation. As part of our ongoing 3F initiative, the foundation played a key role in enabling Chile to become the first country in the world to include protection of fungi in its environmental legislation. More recently, the foundation proudly announced the Fantastic Fungi Education Curriculum, the world's first mycological set of courses designed for schools.
