Friends of Morrisson-Reeves Library, a nonprofit fundraising and volunteer organization, benefits the Richmond, Indiana, area.   

Friends of Morrisson-Reeves Library is a nonprofit association of people interested in promoting knowledge and interest in the functions, resources, services, and needs of our library. Friends provide time, talents, and funds for services and programs that enrich, educate, and entertain the community.

The Friends of MRL generously fund all of the programs offered to library users. They support the Summer Reading Program, book discussions, free computer classes, writing classes, lectures, musical programs, movies, storytimes, arts and crafts workshops, health programs and much more for youth and adults of all ages.

Support the preservation of the world’s most endangered modern houses of unique architectural importance.

Iconic Houses provides a worldwide platform for architecturally significant modern houses and artists' homes and studios from the 20th century that are open to the public, by sharing best practices about the conservation, policy, programming and management of house museums and significant private houses. Member sites include Antoni Gaudí's La Pedrera (Spain), Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye (France), and Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater (USA), among almost 200 other masterpieces and hidden gems around the world. At this time over 50 of the world's most iconic modern houses, especially those from the second half of 20th century, are threatened due a lack of legal protection, deferred maintenance or other issues associated with development pressures. We need to act now, or risk losing them forever. What can be done to save them? Icons at Risk sets out to answer that question.  "Icons at Risk" is an international initiative by the Iconic Houses network to preserve the world's most endangered modern houses of unique architectural importance. We will achieve this by raising public awareness, advocacy, and supporting homeowners to take action themselves through a "Toolkit for Owners of Modern Homes". The Diaspora Salon is an initiative of Association Collectif Eclats de Lune which organizes cross-cultural events . This specific program is an annual convening of scholars, artists, cultural practitioners, financiers, technologists, and community builders from across Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Americas. It is designed as an intentional intervention: a space where students and entrepreneurs experience, often for the first time, what it means to belong to excellence—and to be seen, valued, and welcomed into it. 

Beyond inspiration the participants gain durable access to a global network that invests in their potential, mentors their ambitions, and walks alongside them over time. This is social capital made visible, transferable, and enduring. Most Black students and entrepreneurs remain structurally excluded from these global networks. Few have the opportunity to travel. Fewer still have direct relationships with Black leaders operating at the highest levels across sectors and geographies.

Philanthropic support for the Diaspora Salon directly addresses this gap. It ensures that proximity to excellence is not an accident of privilege, but a deliberate act of investment—one that creates lifelong networks, expands global possibility, and helps a new generation imagine, and access, futures previously out of reach.

Our past initiatives have shown that access to global networks and excellence creates permanent, life-changing impact.    

Our annual gathering unfolds in Marrakech, beginning on the final day of the Contemporary African Art Fair 1:54 — a moment when the city hums with creativity and the spirit of Black cultural imagination. The sponsored participants for most have never travelled. They are then immersed in a world where brilliance travels freely across continents, and art collectors from around the globe arrive to celebrate Black excellence in contemporary art.

For many who may not often step inside museums, it becomes a revelation — a doorway into the vast and powerful presence of Black artists shaping the global stage. Creativity is not simply seen. It is felt, shared, and honored as part of a living, breathing heritage. 

After discovering the international power of Black visual artists, participants are then immersed in four days of luminous conversations with leaders who look like them — voices of brilliance, achievement, and imagination. In their presence, possibility widens. Dreams feel nearer. And students begin to see that they, too, can aspire — and belong — at the very center of excellence.

Thanks to its unique collection and exhibition program, the Museum Ludwig has enjoyed long-standing ties with the USA. With the largest Pop Art collection outside of the United States, as well as a very large collection of contemporary US American artists, the museum has always had a special relationship with the USA.  

The International Society Museum Ludwig, which launched in 2018 as an affiliation of the Gesellschaft für Moderne Kunst am Museum Ludwig e.V., honors and furthers a tradition of exchange by helping the museum to expand its collection, supporting conservation projects and special exhibitions. Since its inception, the International Society has supported many important projects and hosted multiple events in New York.

The Museum Ludwig is an actively collecting institution as well as a generator of new art. Generating new scholarly insights when organizing exhibitions of well-established artists or publishing catalogues raisonnés in connection with mid-career surveys of contemporary artists are among its priorities.

Espacio MUY showcases contemporary Maya and Zoque art in Chiapas via archives, a cultural center, and exhibitions.

This cultural project to promote the arts among the Maya and Zoque peoples of Chiapas, Mexico began in December of 2014. There is a dynamic cultural milieu in these traditionalist communities of Tsotsil, Tseltal, Ch'ol and other Maya languages spearheaded by young and mid-career creatives, all born in rural villages, active in painting, sculpture, photography and performance. MUY promotes outreach to the communities, trains in art, exhibits and publishes on Indigenous art for social justice, ecology, gender and diversity, and defense of the territory of and by Native Peoples. Our special projects include facilitating residencies for Maya/Zoque creators and virtual and live art-events toward sharing Indigenous aesthetics, wisdom and g/local empowerment and spiritual enrichment. c89.5 is listener-supported public radio, playing uplifting dance music and providing career-connected learning for our students.

c89.5 is a listener-supported, non-commercial radio station owned by the Seattle Public Schools and operated by professional adult staff and students in the electronic media program at Nathan Hale High School. The station is almost entirely self-funded: over 95% of its operating revenue comes from listener donations and local businesses.

Over 150,000 listeners throughout Puget Sound tune to c89.5 every week for a diverse range of music celebrating individual differences and focusing on the joy in life. The station reaches a broad range of listeners, with a high concentration in both the 18-24 and 45-54 age ranges. Over 30% of c89.5 listeners identify as LGBTQ+.

c89.5 supports the personal and professional growth of our students, giving them the skills and confidence to succeed in careers in media and other professions. Investigative journalism is at risk. Many news organizations have increasingly come to see it as a luxury. Today’s investigative reporters lack resources: Time and budget constraints are curbing the ability of journalists not specifically designated “investigative” to do this kind of reporting in addition to their regular beats. New models are, therefore, necessary to carry forward some of the great work of journalism in the public interest that is such an integral part of self-government, and thus an important bulwark of our democracy.

We address food insecurity, social isolation, loneliness among Asian Elders living in under-resourced & underinvested communities.

Concerning data reveals that 23% of Asian New Yorkers live in poverty, significantly higher than the citywide average of 16% of all New Yorkers. And a staggering 28% of Asian American older adults 65+ live in poverty. As the American Bar Association reveals, Asian elders, especially those from immigrant backgrounds, endure more social isolation and mental health struggles than their peers due to linguistics, financial, and cultural barriers. These factors combined significantly impact the mental and emotional well-being of Asian American older adults in a city where depression and suicide among older adult immigrants are on the rise.

**Heart of Dinner addresses these critical community needs by home-delivering to Elders with Heart of Dinner's signature nourishing care packages of culturally thoughtful and nutrient-dense food, bundled inside lovingly hand-illustrated bags, attached with uplifting handwritten notes in the Elder's native language.**

**A Note from Our Founders about Heart of Dinner & Our Evolution from 2020-2024:**

Dear Cherished Supporter,

Thank you for taking a moment to connect with our mission. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our journey with you—a journey born from a deep, instinctive need to care for our Elders. **In March 2020, at the onset of the global pandemic, we leapt into action to support our Asian American elder community, who were facing devastating food insecurity, isolation, and loneliness.**

While many believe the urgency that defined the pandemic has passed, **the reality for our Elders remains critical. Even now, 1 in 3 Asian American older adults live below the poverty line.** These challenges are not new. For decades, this community has been overlooked, its struggles masked by the harmful “model minority” myth, which conceals the deep inequities faced by Asian American Elders. This, combined with language barriers, technology gaps, and economic hardship, means that many continue to lack access to the resources and care they deserve.

Out of a guttural instinct to protect and uplift our Elders, we **transformed our 300 square-foot apartment on the cusp of Chinatown and the Lower East Side into a sanctuary of cultural resonance and care.** We hyperfocused on those in the most critical state, providing emergency food relief and addressing their emotional needs through handwritten notes in their native languages, making sure our Elders felt seen, valued, and dignified.

**These care packages are more than just food—they are a lifeline.** Filled with culturally meaningful lunchboxes and fresh groceries beloved in Asian immigrant households like bok choy, rice, mung beans (and more!), all lovingly bundled inside decorated bags, attached with notes of love & joy that deliver warmth, connection, and belonging.

As our work evolved beyond emergency relief, we **built Heart of Dinner into a nonprofit focused on sustainable care.** Thanks to our incredible community of donors, partners, volunteers, and small team of staff, we have transformed into a **501(c)(3) public charity that continues to nourish and uplift our Elders, week after week.**

By Summer 2024, **we have delivered over 200,000 meals to beloved Elders living in significantly under-resourced and underinvested communities across New York City.** And our work is far from over. The challenges our Elders face didn’t begin with the pandemic, and they certainly won’t end with it. **These hardships are rooted in long-standing societal and governmental neglect, where policies and systems have historically overlooked the needs of this community.**

**Looking forward, we have plans to build Heart of Dinner's own delivery infrastructure with a fleet of electric vehicles, hire a dedicated team of drivers trained in our protocols—which emphasize cultural respect and thoughtful care when serving our Elders—and we aim to increase our care package distribution by 25%.** **These efforts will build upon our ongoing commitment to delivering care packages to our Elders and existing beneficiaries with the same high level of deep care and compassion.**

We provide education and support to young defectors and foster their integration into South Korean society. 

Yeomyung School is a government approved alternative school to provide education and support young NK defectors in their integration into South Korean society. Students include those in middle school and high school and range in age from 16 to 25 years old. Courses offered prepare students for the next level of their education. These courses include: science, math, social studies, English, etc. The Ministry of Unification is responsible for oversight of Yeomyung School.

Purpose:  The purpose of our corporation is to prepare the peaceful unification of Korea by introducing the project of education, employment, life support, etc. for the settlement of resident escaping from NK in South Korea. 



Activities: 

-Operation of Yeomyung School, which is an alternative school for youth escaping from NK

-Operation of employment supports and life supports program of resident escaping from NK
