**Our Background:** Founders, Daniel and Corrine Baker, moved to Georgia in 2015 with their three children Mara, Porter, and Eisley. Moving to Georgia, the Bakers had already been advocates for environmental and animal welfare issues. Upon arriving and seeing the sheer volume of animal exploitation permitted and so few resources available, it was a huge culture shock and they didn’t know how to help but things were falling into place for Outsiders to come into existence. Although it wasn’t until 2018 that the Sanctuary was founded after taking in their first group of pigs when they realized this was their calling and passion.

 Running the Sanctuary day-to-day from animal care, maintenance, all the way to the administrative work is all done by the Bakers. It is a full-family affair. A vegan family farm. Corrine handles all administrative work, veterinary care, and social media. Dan always feeds and waters the animals first thing in the morning and does many building projects, thanks to being a carpenter. He also does all of the maintenance work around the farm while working a full-time job to support his family and the animals at the Sanctuary.

 The children do a wonderful job loving on the animals, helping socialize them, but also put in physical labor when it comes to the gritty cleaning around the farm. All three can also walk you through the process of a spay and neuter procedure as well as properly give vaccines! They are warriors that will change the world! Life around the Sanctuary is incredibly busy - and often stressful - but there is so much peace and positive energy when you are doing what you have been called to do... especially when you do it with your family.

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is a volunteer-based, non-government organization whose goal is to prevent animal cruelty through education, animal sheltering and advocacy, based in Quezon City, Philippines.

PAWS also runs an animal shelter for over 300 cats and dogs rescued from cruelty or neglect. There, animals are rehabilitated in the hope of finding them new homes and a second chance at a good life.



There is also a low-cost clinic that provides veterinary services to the indigent community, including spay and neuter (kapon).

Shrimp Welfare Project is the first organization to focus exclusively on improving farmed shrimp welfare. More than 60 billion farm animals are slaughtered every year. Inadequate welfare requirements and legal protections mean that the overwhelming majority of these animals suffer greatly, living their entire lives in crowded, uncomfortable, unhealthy conditions. While recent progress on these issues in Europe is promising, welfare standards in some sectors are still very low. Albert Schweitzer Foundation (ASF) works to raise standards in Germany and in the European Union. This research has focused on better understanding the well-being of wild animals, which species are most promising to focus on, and  which interventions are the most effective at reducing animal suffering.

Supporting campaigns to reform corporate policies
Tens of billions of animals suffer as a result of their use in food production. By tackling this issue at the level of commercial supply chains, corporate campaigns can be high-leverage opportunities to improve the lives of tens of billions of animals. The Fund has granted to a range of organizations with relatively strong track records of securing commitments from large food companies; these organizations include Compassion in World Farming USA and Sinergia Animal.

Supporting research on and advocacy for alternative proteins
Finding culinary alternatives to meat is an important step toward reducing the suffering of animals raised for food. While commercial alternative protein companies are generally able to raise private funding, other organizations that build support for alternative proteins (like academic groups and grassroots organizations) are relatively underfunded. The Fund has granted to organizations around the world, including in the UK (CellAG), Israel (The Modern Agriculture Foundation), and globally (Cellular Agriculture Society).

Rogue Valley Street Dogs (formerly known as Street Dog Project) was founded in 2013. We first operated as a program of Friends of the Animal Shelter in Jackson County, Oregon. In 2021, Street Dog Project was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are a community service public charity that focuses on improving the quality of life of pets affected by homelessness and poverty.

Our primary mission is to provide free spay/neuter services for animals of the unhoused and no/very low income in order to improve the lives of animals and prevent overpopulation.

To establish trust and improve the quality of life for dogs and cats, we provide limited high-quality food, collars, leashes, harnesses, coats, and other items to help pets in need. We also provide vouchers for low-cost vaccine clinics and help with flea/tick/worm medications and veterinary care when able.

As we continue to make spay and neuter our priority, we believe that a holistic approach with an educational platform to provide long-term, meaningful help will improve the lives of dogs and cats and prevent more animals from entering shelters, being euthanized, or leading a life of suffering.

We strongly believe in collaboration and work closely with partners who serve the unhoused communities and animals in Southern Oregon. We provide food and gear and host outreach events where we distribute donations and work with people to spay and neuter their pets.
