Our multidisciplinary team collaborates closely with law enforcement, medical professionals, and child protective services to ensure that each child receives the care and protection they need. By fostering a compassionate and child-focused approach, we strive to break the cycle of abuse, provide the support child victims of crime need, and build a brighter future for the children in our community.

ROC-DC has been building power with restaurant workers since 2009. We are a small worker-led organization that utilizes base-building, organizing and worker-led advocacy to move our mission forward. ROC-DC is fully independent organization from ROC-United (circa June 2024).  

**Addressing the Current Moment**

ROC-DC has been specifically equipped to support workers during crises, and have provided systems of support, training and mutual aid during the threats of Trump's first presidency, during the COVID-19 pandemic and currently under the federal occupation of Washington, DC that is putting so many of our members and restaurant workers at risk. ROC-DC has not only been providing necessary mutual aid support to our members, but also building out systems where workers can support one another during this time. We have provided comprehensive resources to restaurant owners/management supported members with creating Emergency Family Plans and provided ongoing community  & healing spaces to share resources and stay in community during such a stressful and isolating time.

The Diaspora Salon is an initiative of Association Collectif Eclats de Lune which organizes cross-cultural events . This specific program is an annual convening of scholars, artists, cultural practitioners, financiers, technologists, and community builders from across Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Americas. It is designed as an intentional intervention: a space where students and entrepreneurs experience, often for the first time, what it means to belong to excellence—and to be seen, valued, and welcomed into it. 

Beyond inspiration the participants gain durable access to a global network that invests in their potential, mentors their ambitions, and walks alongside them over time. This is social capital made visible, transferable, and enduring. Most Black students and entrepreneurs remain structurally excluded from these global networks. Few have the opportunity to travel. Fewer still have direct relationships with Black leaders operating at the highest levels across sectors and geographies.

Philanthropic support for the Diaspora Salon directly addresses this gap. It ensures that proximity to excellence is not an accident of privilege, but a deliberate act of investment—one that creates lifelong networks, expands global possibility, and helps a new generation imagine, and access, futures previously out of reach.

Our annual gathering unfolds in Marrakech, beginning on the final day of the Contemporary African Art Fair 1:54 — a moment when the city hums with creativity and the spirit of Black cultural imagination. They are then immersed in a world where brilliance travels freely across continents, and art collectors from around the globe arrive to celebrate Black excellence in contemporary art.

Founded in 2010 by Rupert Graf Strachwitz, the Maecenata Foundation emerged as an umbrella organization to consolidate and expand upon the activities of the Maecenata Institute for Philanthropy and Civil Society, which was established in 1997. The foundation's creation aimed to address the evolving needs of civil society and to provide a structured platform for research, dialogue, and advocacy in the realms of civic engagement and philanthropy. The Kyiv Independent is an award-winning English-language media outlet covering Ukraine and Eastern Europe.

The Kyiv Independent is **Ukraine’s fastest-growing English-language media outlet**, established in November 2021, just three months before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The Kyiv Independent was born out of a **fight for freedom of speech**. It was co-founded by a group of journalists who were fired from the Kyiv Post, then a prominent newspaper, as the owner attempted to take the newsroom under control and end its critical coverage of Ukrainian authorities.

Just three months after the Kyiv Independent was launched, Russia invaded Ukraine. **Our team stayed in Ukraine and kept on reporting on what was now a war against their country.**

The team’s resilience and **uncompromising reporting quickly made the Kyiv Independent a key source of news** from Ukraine for millions of people around the world.

**We vowed to serve the principles of honest journalism even during an ongoing war**. We have published investigations, including into misconduct within the Ukrainian military. It has solidified our readers’ trust in us as an independent news source. The Kyiv Independent has won multiple awards for its work.

We had to grow fast. Today, **the Kyiv Independent is a dynamic organization** producing stories, video reports, newsletters, documentaries, and more. In March 2023, we formed a separate unit within the team to investigate Russian war crimes. The team has **published nine documentaries so far, uncovered multiple war crimes, and seven international awards** for its work. 

**Unlike many news organizations, the Kyiv Independent has no single owner** or external source of financing. Instead, the majority of our funding comes directly from our readers — most of whom give just $5 a month. In 2024, 70% of our revenue was from membership and donations. 

Thanks to the support of our readers, the Kyiv Independent doesn’t need to depend on a wealthy owner — and doesn’t have a paywall. Story House Ithaca brings people together to share, study, create, and enjoy stories in all their forms.

Story House Ithaca brings people together around stories. We define “story” very broadly, to include fiction and nonfiction, poetry and song, documentary, journalism, photography, audio, film, theater, puppetry, visual and performance art, graphics, dance, and every other way of communicating ideas and experience. Our definition of “house” is also broad. We hope eventually to settle into our own space, but for now we’re excited to be popping up around the community.

**The Problem**

Our society is going through a period of fracturing, as people of different socioeconomic, cultural, and educational backgrounds divide into ever more insular groups. One reason for this is a lack of opportunities for people to interact in meaningful and non-threatening ways. This has had disastrous consequences in politics, public health, and many other areas.
  
 **Our Approach**

- Story House creates. We dream up, organize, and present workshops, discussions, readings, talks, screenings, exhibitions, performances, participatory projects, and other activities. 
- Story House collaborates. We work with organizations, artists, activists, scholars, and others to plan and present compelling programming. 
- Story House connects. We help creative people and groups find new partners and reach new audiences. 
- Story House empowers. We help members of our community acquire the skills they need to tell the stories they want to tell.

In all our programs and activities, we are committed to creating inclusive spaces that welcome diversity. We strive to foster interactions between people of different cultures, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds, with the goal of working toward shared understanding and a more equitable, anti-racist society.

Lesley Greene (co-director) is a producer, designer, writer, and director. She worked for many years at the Kitchen Theatre Company, where she curated and produced three performance series, created sound and projection designs, and served as chief grant writer and head of marketing. She is a co-founder and co-organizer of Porchfest, a festival that began in Ithaca in 2007 and now takes place in more than 150 cities across North America.
  
Jonathan Miller (co-director) is a writer, journalist, editor, radio producer, podcaster, and media project leader whose work has taken him to more than 20 countries. Since 2006, he has been executive director of Homelands Productions, an award-winning journalism collective that specializes in public radio features and documentaries. Jon serves on the board of Ithaca City of Asylum and coordinates the ONWARDS project, which seeks to help displaced writers, artists, human rights defenders, and scholars find stability in the USA.

Constructing Durable and Customized Homes

Our newly built homes boast robust concrete block walls, reliable corrugated iron roofs, and solid concrete floors, presenting families with a versatile array of choices. Ranging from one to three rooms, with or without a bathroom, these designs are meticulously crafted to cater to the specific needs of each family. Engineered to withstand earthquakes and harsh climates, these residences emerge as ideal living spaces for families grappling with extreme poverty. The success of our homes is attributed to meticulous design planning and the continuous four-year follow-up program, providing ongoing support long after the construction phase concludes.



Community Infrastructure Development

Constru Casa actively collaborates with partner organizations in supporting community development and construction initiatives. These community constructions serve vital social and communal functions, particularly in areas of health and education, benefiting the entire community. Such constructions encompass diverse structures like schools, libraries, day care centers, community hubs, medical clinics, orphanages, and recreational areas. In tandem with community constructions, we provide comprehensive services, including initial consulting, needs assessment, building design, construction supervision, and project management.

Typically, partnering organizations present these community center projects to Constru Casa after assessing the community's needs and securing the necessary funds. The success of each operation hinges on the local community and the organization's unwavering commitment to the project.

A distinctive feature that sets us apart from other non-profits is our four-year follow-up program. We firmly believe that merely constructing a house is insufficient. **Where Dog Meets Companion**...Doggie Harmony is a dedicated non-profit rescue group focused on matching the right people to the right dogs in Atlanta—and beyond. Available dogs are found by Good Samaritans, face a 'death row' sentence at animal control, or are with owners who seek to relinquish. Secondary to our dog placement objective, we sponsor spay/neuter, wellness, training, and boarding to keep or place dogs in happy homes.

**Fueled Entirely By Volunteers...**We are 100% volunteer-run and reliant on community members to house animals until we can find a new home for each pet. Nearly 100% of your donation goes to the care animals, with a small percentage going to administrative/technology fees.

**Small But Mighty....**A small, grassroots organization started in Brookhaven, Georgia, in 2009, Doggie Harmony was founded by friends and rescue volunteers Jamie Sprague and Liz Mansour. At the Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative, we know it is possible to achieve global equality, sustainability and peace. The Collaborative is a unique space for people working inside and outside of government to convene, research and advance feminist approaches to foreign policy. Operating as a secretariat, we support two coalitions: the Global Partner Network for Feminist Foreign Policy and the Coalition for a Feminist Foreign Policy in the United States. The Global Partner Network is an informal body of more than 100 organizations, governments and individuals working on feminist foreign policy around the world; the U.S. Coalition unites more than 80 organizations advancing a more feminist foreign policy in the United States.

Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative

Since 1986, El Arca has been working to make the rights of children/adolescents effective in order to build an equitable society.

El Arca was founded in 1986 with the creation of a home for children and adolescents who lived on the streets. The institution eventually had three houses in operation and a program to support families. Thanks to this successful experience, more than three hundred boys and girls left the streets as a way of life. Many of them managed to return to their families of origin, others were housed in foster families and a large number grew up and achieved their independence accompanied by the institution. The project was sustained for twenty-five years.

In 2000, with the support of Arcor and Unicef, El Arca began to develop a project to build citizenship in Cuartel V, Moreno. The project is aimed at the population of girls, boys and adolescents in zone 2, which covers five neighborhoods and a population of approximately five thousand minors under 18 years of age. The project initially aimed to contribute to the full exercise of rights of children and adolescents, and worked in four dimensions: the social and educational dimension where the key word was inclusion, the political dimension where the key word was participation, the cultural dimension, and the key word was expression, and the legal dimension where the key word was enforceability. This project was born in the midst of a social, political and economic crisis in our country and in one of the poorest municipalities in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. Its basis is the successful experience acquired in homes where the central dynamic was the participation of the children and adolescents housed there.

The citizenship building project was transformed and adapted to the political, economic and social changes of the province and the municipality. In 2003 we signed an agreement with the Comparte Foundation, an NGO from Barcelona, ​​which supported our project until 2023, when it transferred its collaborative actions with Latin America to the organization EDUCO, which continues to support our cause to this day. This alliance allowed us to grow in the territory and sustain the project over time, reaping important achievements such as having presented two collective appeals with the active participation of children, adolescents and grassroots organizations. The first was to demand and achieve that the government of the province of Buenos Aires carry out a 1km asphalt road from route 25 to the El Vergel Cuartel V neighborhood and the construction and equipment of a health center.

La alianza con primero con Comparte y luego con Educo, también nos permite sostener un equipo de trabajo que año tras año monitorea la  escolaridad de 1000 niños y niñas en escuelas primarias públicas para poder acompañar sus trayectorias y apuntalarlas en caso que sea necesario. Este programa logró desarrollar acciones de participación de niños, niñas y adolescentes en el ámbito institucional. En tres escuelas primarias públicas con grandes déficits estructurales y mucha sobrepoblación, generando allí asambleas de aula, delegados y espacios de reflexión  colectiva. Gracias a esas acciones se lograron mejoras en los patios de las escuelas y disminución de la violencia entre pares en las aulas y en los recreos.

The program also managed to hold eight annual forums where approximately three hundred children and adolescents participated in each event and made proposals to improve their neighborhoods that were sometimes heard by local authorities. These forums were held in Cuartel V, and in 2022, the first Forum with the participation of children and young people from all over Moreno was held together with the Local Council.

From 2005 to 2015, with the support of Arcor, we coordinated RedOnda, a network of 25 organizations from 15 provinces, developing actions of leading participation and educational inclusion at the institutional and community level with a total of 40,000 children and adolescents. In 2014, in Mendoza, we held a national congress on the protagonism of children and adolescents with the participation of more than 500 boys and girls from 15 provinces. Between 2012 and 2014, we conducted training sessions on the participation of children and adolescents for municipal teams of children from various towns in Córdoba, Tucumán and Catamarca, convened by the Arcor Foundation. In 2014, within the framework of the strategic plan for the city of Arroyito, we conducted a survey of 600 children and adolescents in the city and supported the process of creating the City Council for Children.

In November 2015, HBO Latin America premiered Sembradores de Optimismo, an initiative dedicated to disseminating the work of organizations working on innovative educational projects in countries in the region. El Arca was chosen to represent our country.

Our citizenship-building project continues to be developed in Cuartel V, Moreno (Buenos Aires Province) and focuses on two fundamental pillars: the right to participation of boys and girls, and educational inclusion, placing special emphasis on gender equality and the eradication of any type of violence against girls and women.

Education Axis

In a context where the lack of school infrastructure is a central problem, we work with children, adolescents and their families so that no one is left out of school.

The Ark has promoted projects in schools and neighborhoods that seek to strengthen collective processes, improve educational processes, as well as address educational issues from a rights perspective that is inherent to all our work and through the leading participation of boys and girls.

We accompany the educational paths of approximately 1,000 children and adolescents each year. This may involve direct assistance in some situations, the management of school materials of different kinds (furniture, teaching materials, etc.), as well as the organization of demands regarding difficulties that affect the educational inclusion of boys and girls (transportation, access, building deficiencies, lack of educational establishments, etc.). All these actions are developed taking into account the agreements that can be established between the different actors in the community (school, municipality, community centers, children's council, etc.)

Our main actions in this area are: a mixed-gender soccer school in which 100 boys and girls participate, a traveling play center that travels through the neighborhoods promoting the right to play, a literacy program for primary and secondary school children, monitoring the educational path of 1,000 boys and girls, meeting points at the entrance of schools where we provide advice on rights, education, and we lend books and games. We also coordinate our work with schools to detect difficulties and situations that require support.

Participation axis

Since its origins, El Arca has worked with girls, boys and adolescents in projects that enable their individual and collective ideas, their voices and decisions. The initiatives carried out under this orientation have the particularity of seeking to encourage the participation of boys and girls in the organization and planning of tasks in different areas in order to include their considerations in the educational, recreational and sports projects of the neighborhood and to be taken into account in the preparation of public policies directed at children and adolescents.

El Arca has developed many experiences of participation in school institutions and at the community level. In addition to currently holding Councils of boys and girls in different parts of the neighborhood, it has organized eight Forums through which more than a thousand boys and girls have participated. This experience has provided us with a large number of methodological tools that we seek to share and enrich with the institutions of the neighborhood. In the last two years, the project includes joint initiatives with the municipal children's department and the Local Council to promote citizen participation throughout the municipality.

Our main actions in this area are: classroom councils in primary schools where boys and girls learn to resolve conflicts through words, support for the formation of student centres in secondary schools and territorial councils where boys, girls and educators meet every week to collectively think of ideas to improve their neighbourhood, which are then expressed and taken into account by the community and local authorities.

Every year, approximately 76,000 children in India may develop cancer, with 58% of them being severely malnourished at the time of diagnosis. For these children, nutrition can mean the difference between life and death. Every child deserves a chance at a cure, and we are here to make that happen.

At Cuddles Foundation, we partner with over 40 government and charity cancer hospitals to support children through our FoodHeals program. Our mission is to ensure that children undergoing cancer therapy receive comprehensive nutritional support. This includes access to trained clinical pediatric nutritionists, expert dietary counsel, supplements, hot meals, monthly ration baskets, and caregiver support. Good food helps the medicine work!

This multi-pronged approach tackles a simple but often ignored aspect of a child’s successful recovery from cancer. While undergoing treatment, it is essential that children have freshly prepared, nutritious food in sufficient quantity and don't stay hungry for long periods. The impact of our work is evident. When part of the FoodHeals Program, 82%* of patients improved or maintained their nutritional status, despite cancer therapy like chemotherapy or radiation.

Additionally, 96% of children followed up* on their treatment plan when nutrition was a part of it, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness. Besides the love and affection of our patients, their families, and our supporters, we’ve won some prestigious awards along the way. This includes the National Award for Child Welfare (2015-16), the Akshaya Patra and UN Global Compact Award (2018) and most recently we received the Global CSR & ESG Awards 2024 - Top 10 Best NGOs of the Year (2024).

What is Mutual Aid?

**Mutual aid is “cooperation for the sake of the common good.” It’s getting people to come together to meet each other’s needs, recognizing that as humans, our survival is dependent on one another.**

Mutual Aid is a practice and politics that emphasizes solidarity rather than charity. It means we recognize that our well-being, health and dignity are all bound up in each other. It means that we understand our survival depends on cooperation, not competition. In this particular moment, we see that our health is also dependent on other people’s health, and we can literally save each other’s lives. Rather than disengage and feel powerless, mutual aid allows us to plug in where we can make the most impact — locally.

- Getting people together in your community to provide material support to each other
- Building relationships with your neighbors based on trust and common interest
- Making decisions by consensus rather than relying on authority and hierarchy
- Sharing things rather than hoarding things
- Treating no one as disposable

DC Mutual Aid Network

The DC Mutual Aid Network (DCMA) is a grassroots community-led effort looking to take care of each other and keep our city as safe as possible.

- DCMA is a decentralized, community-led effort, so there is no single group that runs the network.
- There are autonomous groups for Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Wards 7 & 8 are served together by one group.
- The DCMA Network is governed by the ward groups on topics of social media, website, fundraising, etc. The groups also share resources, best practices and offer referrals to other groups.

Ward 2 Efforts

Ward 2 Mutual Aid is part of the larger DCMA Network. Our concrete activities are:

- **Hotline** - Volunteers staff our warmline, where Ward 2 residents can call and request assistance.
- **Groceries** - We provide a grocery bag delivery to ~150 families that request it through our hotline or building captains. The bags include fresh produce, protein, dry goods, and requested household items.
- **Encampment Outreach** - We organize a supply drop to ~120 unhoused neighbors.
- **Building captains** - We organize with local residents to utilize their leadership and relational networks. Building captains check on neighbors, relay needs, and assist with food donations and distribution.
- **Back to school** - We organize with local parents to host a book and clothing swap.
- **Support for high risk/immuno-compromised individuals** - We have been partnering with local public housing buildings to drop off cleaning supplies, masks, and groceries.

SPECIES RECOVERY
The EWT has achieved remarkable gains for many species, where downward trends in the local populations of Wattled and Grey Crowned Cranes, Piggersgill’s Frogs, the Amathole Toad, and the Riverine Rabbit have joined the Cheetah as species on a pathway to recovery. Critically Endangered
Wattled Cranes are increasing in number, now estimated at some 320 birds nationally, up 60% from their lowest numbers. The EWT has also helped reverse the decline of Endangered Grey Crowned Cranes, while Blue Crane numbers have increased from an estimated 25,500 birds nationally in 2007 to some 30,000 birds today.
SPACE FOR SPECIES
Through our range expansion work, we have secured and protected safe spaces for multiple species to thrive and we have reintroduced many threatened species back into secure and suitable landscapes. Safe space for African Wild Dogs has increased to over 1.4 million ha throughout southern Africa and their numbers and generic health have followed suit. Safe space for Cheetahs and their numbers have also increased from 217 Cheetahs on 41 reserves in South Africa in 2011, to 470 Cheetahs on 65 reserves covering over two million hectares across southern Africa.

SAFEGUARDING OUR SPECIES
To protect threatened species, we monitor them and work with partners, businesses, landowners, and communities to reduce the threats they face. We are innovating to achieve bigger impacts, as evident in our drone project’s expansion to use drones to mark power lines - reducing bird strikes safely and affordably and monitor Southern Right Whales in a way that wasn’t possible before. We continue to explore the use of eDNA to identify the presence of elusive and potentially extinct species, such as
Van Zyl’s and De Winton’s Golden Moles, so that action can be taken to save the last of their habitats.

Our pioneering Eye in the Sky carcass and wildlife poisoning detection project has already saved thousands of animals from secondary poisoning as a result of its efficient and effective success and our quick response times. The project uses the movements and behavior patterns of GPS-tracked vultures to remotely detect potential poisoning events and respond to these rapidly, alerting rangers on the ground and preventing further loss of wildlife to poisoning. We also contribute to preventing wildlife crime through the deployment of Conservation K9s to detect wildlife contraband and track poachers. These dogs help us to protect species, including rhinos, elephants, and pangolins.

Protec􀆟ng and conserving natural places is one of the most important strategies for comba􀆫ng the effects of
biodiversity loss and climate change. The EWT conserves habitats by reducing habitat loss and improving the
ecological integrity of threatened ecosystems through rehabilita􀆟on, restora􀆟on, and sustainable land
management. Many of the EWT’s programmes are involved in habitat conservation, but two are dedicated to protecting specific habitats.

COLLABORATING FOR CONSERVATION
An effective vehicle for conserving habitats is the formal protection of land through Biodiversity Stewardship. We work with private and community landowners to legally declare their land as protected or help them to manage it sustainably and without damage to sensitive species and ecosystems.
The EWT was instrumental in the development of Biodiversity Stewardship, having facilitated the workshops which led to its establishment, and subsequently, the EWT has declared 185 properties (over 139,000 ha) as protected areas in the last
ten years and is currently in the process of securing a further 130,000 hectares for threatened species conservation across South Africa. This includes proper􀆟es in one of the region’s most important centres of endemism: the Soutpansberg Mountain Range. Easily recognized for our work to safeguard charisma􀆟c species like the Wild Dog and Cheetah, the EWT also played a key role in preventing the extinction of the Brenton Blue Butterfly by establishing a dedicated reserve for this endemic insect.  Other critical habitats have been protected to prevent the extinction of many smaller, lesser-known species, including rep􀆟les, amphibians, butterflies, golden moles, and threatened plants.

CARBON FOR CONSERVATION
After establishing the feasibility of carbon trading in South Africa’s grasslands and recognizing the potential benefits for farmers and grassland and wetland management, the EWT the EWT initiated the first carbon offsetting contracts with private landowners in South Africa, in the Drakensberg.
When landowners agree to conserve and manage their land to allow for the verifiable sequestration of carbon in the soil, the carbon can be converted into carbon credits. Liable ensures, usually big carbon emitters, can purchase up to 10% of their carbon as carbon credits to reduce their tax liability in South Africa. These purchases create a long-term revenue stream for farmers and conservation organizations to support conservation efforts and protect important habitats through improved land-use management.

People need nature to survive – it provides important resources we depend on. We must live in harmony
with nature to thrive in healthy ecosystems that will support us and future genera􀆟ons, our wildlife, and
maintain our rich natural and cultural heritage. Through two of its programmes, the EWT implements
innovative strategies that incorporate the needs of people and the environment to ensure that people
benefit from the more sustainable use of natural resources.

Working across diverse landscapes such as wetlands,
grasslands, river catchments, savannahs, and mountains, the EWT has embraced the need to support the lives and livelihoods of thousands of people who depend on their local environment, from developing sustainable livelihoods as alternatives to environmentally destructive practices in communities from KwaZulu-Natal to Limpopo, Zambia, and as far as Uganda, to pioneering the implementation of Population, Health and Environment in communities in southern and East Africa to support sustainable communities and empower women. The EWT
promotes and implements the education of school
learners and builds capacity for conservation and
ecotourism in communities across our project areas.

BIODIVERSITY AND BUSINESS
Recognizing the importance of biodiversity to business, the EWT established the National Biodiversity and Business Network (NBBN) in 2013 to work with innovative businesses to identify and manage the risks and opportunities resulting from their interactions with the natural world. Through its Biodiversity Disclosure Project, the NBBN helps companies to understand, measure, and disclose their biodiversity impacts and policies. The NBBN introduced the world’s first standardized accounting
framework, the Biological Diversity Protocol (BDP), which measures a business’ impact on biodiversity and identifies areas of improvement over time.  The EWT’s targeted conservation work has national and global impacts and our achievements contribute to multiple conservation-related frameworks. These include South Africa’s 2nd National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (2015–2025), and the National Biodiversity Assessment which assess the status of, and identify the biodiversity and ecosystem
management priori􀆟es as well as the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species. 

Arguably, the EWT’s most important global impact is our work toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed by the United Nations. The SDGs are a universal set of goals, targets, and indicators that UN member states should use to frame their agendas and political policies. Ambitious by nature, they are a government-led endeavor that serves to coordinate actions by United Nations agencies, businesses, non-governmental groups, and any other entities working on specific goals. These are
the goals that the EWT contributes to.

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises. Applying our model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK has served hundreds of millions nourishing meals around the world. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes with the urgency of now to start cooking meals for people in need. WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly by partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or kitchens. To support regional economies, WCK prioritizes purchasing local ingredients to cook with or distribute. Food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis.

Lil BUB’s Better World Fundraiser raises money for four organizations very close to BUB’s heart by investing in our planet, our children, our pets, and our future.

The organizations we have chosen to support with this campaign are doing the work that BUB believes in: Sycamore Land Trust for land preservation, Power of Zero to prevent bullying in schools and online, Milo's Sanctuary for the care of homeless pets with special needs, and our own Lil BUB's Big FUND, whose mission is to bring these causes together.

Lil BUB's Better World Fundraiser

Independent, nonprofit corporation, dedicated to funding free summertime concerts. 

The Minneapolis Pops Orchestra consists of 45 professional musicians. Musicians are chosen by Music Director Russell Gray and Personnel Manager Conor O'Brien from among the finest freelance musicians and members of full-time performing groups in the area.

Pops musicians can also be heard playing with the Minnesota Opera Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and many other distinguished Twin Cities musical groups during the winter months.

Orchestra leadership is provided by Music Director Russell Gray who has a distinguished international reputation. His debut season in 2024 resulted in rave reviews.

FreeMeals.org is a Pleasanton based non-profit on a mission to feed the needy during Covid-19 crisis while helping local restaurants.

We buy nutritious meals from local restaurants through tax deductible donations to feed seniors, the sick and those unable to pay for food. 

We are volunteer run and 100% of the donations are used for buying a free meal.

Delivering unconditional cash directly to the world's poorest households via secure mobile transfers. 

Since 2009, GiveDirectly has delivered more than $580 million in unconditional cash transfers to families in need. These one-time cash transfers allow recipients to invest in what they need most and have been shown to improve their earnings, children’s school attendance, health, nutrition, and mental well-being.
 
GiveDirectly uses government data to target villages where most or all residents are living in extreme poverty, defined by the World Bank as earning under $2.15/day. In-country GiveDirectly staff enroll one member of each household in the entire village to receive a one-time transfer of about $1,000 USD sent in two installments using mobile money. Recipients can then withdraw the mobile funds as cash with local agents and use the funds to invest in what they need – whether it’s on starting a business, education, making their home safer/sturdier, healthcare, or livestock.
 
GiveDirectly uses rigorous experimental research (randomized controlled trials) to measure the impact of their unconditional cash programs and answer public policy questions, generating evidence on key design and implementation questions across varied contexts. MAPS works towards a post-prohibition world by advancing research, changing policies, and shaping culture. 

Since our founding in 1986, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) has been the leading organization building the movement to foster evidence-based approaches to psychedelics and the people who use them. When used safely and responsibly, psychedelics have the potential to promote personal growth and well-being and treat various mental health conditions. Three pillars guide our efforts: advancing research, changing policies, and shaping culture.

The cultivation, use, and trade of psychoactive substances — including psychedelics — has been a consistent aspect of human history, but prohibition, criminalization, and militarization — and their inherent oppression — have led to drastic consequences. The ongoing, global War on Drugs has been justified by bad science, racism, and fear for too long: it has led to mass incarceration; erosion of civil liberties; ecological damage; economic waste; and the public health polycrisis of adulteration, poisoning, and overdose. Many of these harmful effects have disproportionately impacted the most historically exploited and oppressed communities. Consequently, we believe societies worldwide have an obligation to account for and repair those harms, to the extent possible.

We create cutting-edge education for professionals and the public, provide expert support for the psychedelic and drug policy movement, and convene people who share our vision—all to lay the groundwork and create the guardrails necessary for responsible social transformation. 

As psychedelics become more mainstream and an increasing number of people seek to use them for healing and personal growth, we are more dedicated than ever to making resources available for people and communities to safely and responsibly integrate psychedelics into medical, legal, and spiritual contexts.

Delivering medical aid where it's needed most — independent, neutral, impartial.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971.

In over 70 countries around the world, MSF saves lives by providing medical aid where it is needed most—in armed conflicts, epidemics, natural disasters, and other crises.  The people who work for MSF are doctors, nurses, midwives, epidemiologists, water-and-sanitation experts and many others who combine their professional expertise with a commitment to the world’s most vulnerable people.  Each year, these medical teams run close to 470 projects where they care for millions of people.  

As an organization, MSF is neutral and operates independently of any political, military, or religious agendas. It does not take sides in armed conflicts, provides care based on needs alone, and advocates for increased independent access to victims of conflict and disaster as required under international humanitarian law. Medical teams conduct evaluations on the ground to determine a population's medical needs before opening programs, aiming to fill gaps that exist (rather than replicating services that are already offered) or reach communities that are not being assisted.  Over the years, the organization has been the recipient of several awards that recognize its work, including the 1998 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize, the 2012 J. William Fulbright Prize for International Understanding, the 2015 Lasker-Bloomberg Public Service Award, and the 2017 Pardes Humanitarian Prize for Mental Health.
