The Palestine Children's Relief Fund was established in 1992 by concerned humanitarians in the USA to bring injured and sick children for free medical care they could not get locally. The story of our founding is written up here. Since then, we have sent over 2,000 sick and injured children for free medical care, as well as sponsored hundreds of volunteer medical teams from all over the world to treat tens of thousands of sick and injured youths in local hospitals. PCRF also has built two pediatric cancer departments in Palestine and has several more major programs and projects taking place to help support the development of a sustainable health-care system there. We are a grassroots organization depending on the support of thousands of volunteers all over the world to help us achieve our humanitarian mission.

Established in 1995 to provide education to children in Mumbai slums, Pratham (which means “first” in Sanskrit) is now one of the largest and most successful non-governmental education organizations in India.

Pratham USA is a volunteer-driven organization with 14 chapters across the United States that raise awareness and mobilize financial resources for our work on the ground.

Develop Innovative Programs - Pratham uses outcome-driven programs that reconfigure teaching methodologies and challenge ineffective learning mechanisms. Our strategies focus on results, accountability and continuous learning and improvement.

Build Scalable Models - Pratham's low-cost learning models are rigorously tested and evaluated so they can be easily replicated on a larger scale to provide quality education to every child.

Advocate Change - Pratham’s willingness to take risks, adapt to changing circumstances and look beyond our programs gives us the leverage to create broader change. As a non-profit rescue in Atlanta, we place homeless pets, ensuring spay/neuter, wellness, and training for adoption success.

**Where Dog Meets Companion**...Doggie Harmony is a dedicated non-profit rescue group focused on matching the right people to the right dogs in Atlanta—and beyond. Available dogs are found by Good Samaritans, face a 'death row' sentence at animal control, or are with owners who seek to relinquish. Secondary to our dog placement objective, we sponsor spay/neuter, wellness, training, and boarding to keep or place dogs in happy homes.

**Fueled Entirely By Volunteers...**We are 100% volunteer-run and reliant on community members to house animals until we can find a new home for each pet. Nearly 100% of your donation goes to the care animals, with a small percentage going to administrative/technology fees.

**Small But Mighty....**A small, grassroots organization started in Brookhaven, Georgia, in 2009, Doggie Harmony was founded by friends and rescue volunteers Jamie Sprague and Liz Mansour. In 2024, we added a working board of directors to include some of the most dedicated rescuer warriors in our community—Ali Mentana, Amy Alt-Kellner, Sonali Saindane, and two anonymous members!

The PDMSh was founded in 2014 to provide medical aid in the areas of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and, since May 2018, the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). Before full-scale invasion of Ukraine, our volunteer medics had provided timely and qualified medical care to more than 56,000 patients. We worked at 50 locations in the east of Ukraine, including frontline hospitals, entry-exit control points (EECPs) and temporary deployment points.

Now we face greater challenges due to unprovoked and brutal invasion of our country. Since the first day of this invasion, our dedicated volunteers have been on the frontline in combat areas across the country. They selflessly risk their lives to help both civilians and combatants, the wounded and the sick.

After our active participation in the Kyiv campaign in February-April 2022, where we managed to simultaneously provide 12 ambulances and carry out thousands of trips and medical evacuations from the front line, our focus shifted to Eastern Ukraine. In May 2022, we set up medical stations in the east of Ukraine, including in Bakhmut, Sloviansk, Chasiv Yar, Kostyantynivka, Lyman, Rai Oleksandrivka and Symy (the latter three are still operating).

The big international organizations like International Red Cross (ICRC) or Doctors Without Borders (MSF) are not present due to the extreme and difficult conditions.  We are however just a volunteer organization, and we need your support now more than ever.  While working in the most difficult areas in the east of Ukraine from May 2022 to May 2024, Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital volunteers provided medical assistance to more than 47 224 patients. 

Throughout its operation, PDMSh has provided assistance to 103 224 patients.

The active areas of development of PFVMH are increasing the number of medical teams and ambulances that will work as emergency units for medical evacuations from the most difficult areas in the east. The expansion of the voluntary membership of the PFVMH will require more funds to ensure the accommodation and security of the personnel and their ability to treat wondered, which will allow us to save even more lives.

Among other necessities, there are the capability of the fast and complete maintenance of vehicles, availability of sufficient amounts of fuel, medical products, and medicines, as well as proper conditions for accommodation of volunteers and ensuring their protection.

**About cluster headache**

Cluster headache ("suicide headache") is often considered the most painful medical condition. Patients [rate it](https://doi.org/10.1111/head.14021) as significantly more painful than childbirth, kidney stones, gunshot wounds, and bone fractures. Standard painkillers don't help.

Even in wealthy nations with advanced healthcare, **hundreds of thousands** still experience torture-like suffering every year. About 50% of all patients have contemplated suicide. At the same time, global funding for cluster headache is virtually nonexistent. **This crisis cannot go on any longer.**

**Psychedelics save lives**

Psychedelics like psilocybin, LSD, and DMT have shown promise in treating cluster headache pain, in some cases with 70–80% of surveyed users reporting significant relief. Some patients even achieve complete remission.

Often, low, sub-hallucinogenic doses are more than enough to prevent clusters or stop attacks acutely. Patients could self-medicate safely and with minimal side effects.

However, only a tiny minority of patients have access to these life-saving treatments. Given the severity of the pain, the situation is analogous to refusing anesthesia to patients during surgery. **This is absolutely unacceptable.**

The Diaspora Salon is an initiative of Association Collectif Eclats de Lune which organizes cross-cultural events . This specific program is an annual convening of scholars, artists, cultural practitioners, financiers, technologists, and community builders from across Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Americas. It is designed as an intentional intervention: a space where students and entrepreneurs experience, often for the first time, what it means to belong to excellence—and to be seen, valued, and welcomed into it. 

Beyond inspiration the participants gain durable access to a global network that invests in their potential, mentors their ambitions, and walks alongside them over time. This is social capital made visible, transferable, and enduring. Most Black students and entrepreneurs remain structurally excluded from these global networks. Few have the opportunity to travel. Fewer still have direct relationships with Black leaders operating at the highest levels across sectors and geographies.

Philanthropic support for the Diaspora Salon directly addresses this gap. It ensures that proximity to excellence is not an accident of privilege, but a deliberate act of investment—one that creates lifelong networks, expands global possibility, and helps a new generation imagine, and access, futures previously out of reach.

Our annual gathering unfolds in Marrakech, beginning on the final day of the Contemporary African Art Fair 1:54 — a moment when the city hums with creativity and the spirit of Black cultural imagination. Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA) is a non-profit focused on providing emergency relief and healthcare in Sudan

As Sudan’s health system has collapsed under the weight of war and mass displacement, the Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA) is delivering lifesaving care on the front lines. SAPA provides emergency and primary healthcare, hunger relief, water, sanitation and hygiene services, and mental health and psychosocial support, including care for survivors of gender-based violence.

SAPA’s mobile clinics and facility-based teams have treated over 1 million beneficiaries across 13 states in Sudan, delivering over 2 million meals, building 900+ mobile clinics and rehabilitating 130+ healthcare facilities. Annually, SAPA treats hundreds of thousands of patients.

All SAPA-supported healthcare sites are locally staffed by Sudanese healthcare professionals. SAPA works with local communities to restore and sustain primary healthcare in underserved and conflict-affected areas. SAPA brings specialists on medical missions to Sudan to provide emergency care and facilitate life-saving surgeries. 

Despite extreme risk, SAPA's teams work daily to deliver care and restore hope. SAPA is globally and locally led, delivering care while strengthening Sudan’s healthcare system for the long term.

Taimaka has reimagined pediatric malnutrition treatment to make it **more cost-effective and scalable**. We’ve developed a malnutrition treatment model that is:

So far, we’ve used our model to treat 6,000+ children out of existing government hospitals in northeastern Nigeria with world-class recovery rates of 95%+. What is Mutual Aid?

**Mutual aid is “cooperation for the sake of the common good.” It’s getting people to come together to meet each other’s needs, recognizing that as humans, our survival is dependent on one another.**

Mutual Aid is a practice and politics that emphasizes solidarity rather than charity. It means we recognize that our well-being, health and dignity are all bound up in each other. It means that we understand our survival depends on cooperation, not competition. In this particular moment, we see that our health is also dependent on other people’s health, and we can literally save each other’s lives. Rather than disengage and feel powerless, mutual aid allows us to plug in where we can make the most impact — locally.

Mutual aid IS...

- Getting people together in your community to provide material support to each other
- Building relationships with your neighbors based on trust and common interest
- Making decisions by consensus rather than relying on authority and hierarchy
- Sharing things rather than hoarding things
- Treating no one as disposable
- Providing all kinds of support, ranging from food prep to childcare to translation to emotional support, and recognizing the value of all of them
- A political education opportunity, where we build the relationships and analysis to understand why we are in the conditions that we're in
- Preparation for the next disaster (natural or economic). Next time around we'll already have relationships with each other and know who is vulnerable and needs support
- A great jumping off point for other kinds of organizing and movement work

The DC Mutual Aid Network (DCMA) is a grassroots community-led effort looking to take care of each other and keep our city as safe as possible.

- DCMA is a decentralized, community-led effort, so there is no single group that runs the network.
- There are autonomous groups for Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Wards 7 & 8 are served together by one group.
- The DCMA Network is governed by the ward groups on topics of social media, website, fundraising, etc. The groups also share resources, best practices and offer referrals to other groups.

Ward 2 Efforts

Ward 2 Mutual Aid is part of the larger DCMA Network. Our concrete activities are:

- **Hotline** - Volunteers staff our warmline, where Ward 2 residents can call and request assistance.
- **Groceries** - We provide a grocery bag delivery to ~150 families that request it through our hotline or building captains. The bags include fresh produce, protein, dry goods, and requested household items.
- **Encampment Outreach** - We organize a supply drop to ~120 unhoused neighbors.
- **Building captains** - We organize with local residents to utilize their leadership and relational networks. Building captains check on neighbors, relay needs, and assist with food donations and distribution.
- **Back to school** - We organize with local parents to host a book and clothing swap.
- **Support for high risk/immuno-compromised individuals** - We have been partnering with local public housing buildings to drop off cleaning supplies, masks, and groceries.

Our impact areas include:

- **Sustainable Food**: Through initiatives like the Garden Tower and Chicken Projects, we help families grow their own food, leading to better nutrition and income generation. With over 20,000 garden towers built, we are reducing food insecurity and supporting local food sustainability.
- **Clean Water**: By implementing rainwater capture systems, drilling boreholes, and protecting natural springs, we provide safe, accessible water for families, particularly impacting women and girls who often bear the burden of fetching water over long distances. This reduces risks from wild animals and improves health by preventing waterborne diseases.
- **Education**: Education support is at the heart of our mission. By covering school fees and providing supplies, we are enabling children, especially girls, to pursue an education, which transforms communities over time. Additionally, literacy training and skills development programs equip adults with practical knowledge for sustainable income.
- **Health**: Health initiatives focus on menstrual health through HopeKits, dental care clinics, and hygiene projects. These programs empower individuals with resources they need for a healthy and dignified life, further enabling them to support their families and communities.

Legal Aid, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit law firm, is committed to ensuring justice is not a privilege reserved for the wealthy, but a fundamental right for everyone, even if they can't afford an attorney. We provide free legal assistance to thousands of individuals and families in Arkansas' 31 northern counties through our six client walk-in offices. Our work helps secure safe housing, protect consumer rights, foster economic stability, and advocate for people escaping domestic violence. We are also home to the Arkansas Fair Housing Project, working to ensure everyone is afforded the protections guaranteed via the Fair Housing Act. Through our co-location with Arkansas Children's Hospital, we help families address the social determinants of health that impact their well-being. WCK is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises. Applying our model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK has served hundreds of millions nourishing meals around the world. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes with the urgency of now to start cooking meals for people in need. WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly by partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or kitchens. To support regional economies, WCK prioritizes purchasing local ingredients to cook with or distribute. Food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis.

World Central Kitchen

City Relief exists to create connections for the hurting and homeless to resources and hope.

City Relief uses mobile resource centers to assist people dealing with poverty and homelessness. These outreaches happen eight times a week in different areas of New York City and New Jersey. We serve hot meals, provide hygiene kits and socks, help our guests to feel safe and comfortable, invite our guests into community with staff, volunteers and other guests, treat them with dignity and compassion, and provide an opportunity to speak to our trained staff who will connect them to life-changing resources and a community of care.

We exist thanks to private donations and for as little as $1.05, you can provide a meal for someone that would have to choose between eating and another necessity. City Relief

Delivering unconditional cash directly to the world's poorest households via secure mobile transfers. 

Since 2009, GiveDirectly has delivered more than $580 million in unconditional cash transfers to families in need. These one-time cash transfers allow recipients to invest in what they need most and have been shown to improve their earnings, children’s school attendance, health, nutrition, and mental well-being.
 
GiveDirectly uses government data to target villages where most or all residents are living in extreme poverty, defined by the World Bank as earning under $2.15/day. In-country GiveDirectly staff enroll one member of each household in the entire village to receive a one-time transfer of about $1,000 USD sent in two installments using mobile money. Recipients can then withdraw the mobile funds as cash with local agents and use the funds to invest in what they need – whether it’s on starting a business, education, making their home safer/sturdier, healthcare, or livestock.
 
GiveDirectly uses rigorous experimental research (randomized controlled trials) to measure the impact of their unconditional cash programs and answer public policy questions, generating evidence on key design and implementation questions across varied contexts.
