Help make MDMA an approved medicine for PTSD. Historically, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been notoriously difficult to treat and cure, but MDMA-assisted psychotherapy holds incredible promise. In trials with 107 participants, 56% no longer qualified for PTSD. At the 12-month follow-up, 67% no longer had PTSD. Most subjects received just 2–3 sessions. All participants had chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD and had suffered from PTSD for an average of 17.8 years.

This is addressing the root causes of PTSD and not simply masking symptoms, as many maintenance drugs do. It’s actual processing instead of numbing.

On August 16, 2017, the FDA granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation to MDMA for the treatment of PTSD, and there is a clear path for making MDMA a legal medicine for millions of people who are suffering.

This is the final stretch. MAPS has until September 10 to raise $10 million in order to unlock a $10 million challenge pledge. This, combined with $10 million already committed, will complete the $30 million Capstone Campaign. This will provide the funds needed to complete the studies required for FDA approval, and bring this much-needed treatment to patients.

**About cluster headache**

Cluster headache ("suicide headache") is often considered the most painful medical condition. Patients [rate it](https://doi.org/10.1111/head.14021) as significantly more painful than childbirth, kidney stones, gunshot wounds, and bone fractures. Standard painkillers don't help.

Even in wealthy nations with advanced healthcare, **hundreds of thousands** still experience torture-like suffering every year. About 50% of all patients have contemplated suicide. At the same time, global funding for cluster headache is virtually nonexistent. **This crisis cannot go on any longer.**

**Psychedelics save lives**

Psychedelics like psilocybin, LSD, and DMT have shown promise in treating cluster headache pain, in some cases with 70–80% of surveyed users reporting significant relief. Some patients even achieve complete remission.

Often, low, sub-hallucinogenic doses are more than enough to prevent clusters or stop attacks acutely. Patients could self-medicate safely and with minimal side effects.

However, only a tiny minority of patients have access to these life-saving treatments. Given the severity of the pain, the situation is analogous to refusing anesthesia to patients during surgery. **This is absolutely unacceptable.**

Our mission is to protect LGBTQ+ youth in Poland from the harms of homelessness and refugeehood. 

The Warsaw House Foundation's mission is to protect homeless and refugee  LGBTQ+ youth in Poland and provide them with the tools they need to live independently. Our inspiration was the  Ali Forney Center  (AFC)  n NYC, which is largest organization in the world offering support to homeless LGBTQ+ youth. We are honored that Carl Siciliano, the AFC's founder is on the board of the Warsaw House Foundation and works as an advisor. We place extra attention on HIV and STI education, support and prevention with the help of board member Dr. Joanna Kubica and the Smart Life Clinic in Warsaw.  After we took in our first LGBTQ+ youth to house on February 14th, 2023  we have been flooded with calls for housing and support from young people in need.  These are Polish Trans 18 year-olds from the Polish countryside in desperate need to escape their abusive and intolerant homes, young queer people with PTSD and untreated mental illness who need housing and support immediately, LGBTQ+ refugees from Ukraine and several young gay men from Iraq who suffered torture in their homeland, were detained and imprisoned at the Polish/Belarussian border for up to two years, and are now trying to build their lives in Poland.  We are also housing and supporting young LGBTQ+ people from Uganda and Egypt,  We are raising money to support the young people under our care, to house and feed them and pay for their medical needs and courses needed for them to start an independent life,  We are also raising money to hire staff (all of WH's work is now done by volunteers), to continue the renovation of our residential building and for short term emergency rentals.  We have a committed and professional team and a well planned strategy for both emergency and long term care.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!! We had to grow fast. Today, **the Kyiv Independent is a dynamic organization** producing stories, video reports, newsletters, documentaries, and more. Town Bizness exists to bring the necessities of a dignified human life to the unhoused population of Oakland and Berkeley, CA. 
These necessities include good food, reliable shelter, clothing, toiletries, bedding, and basic creature comforts such as safe propane stoves and heaters, radios, and more, depending on each client’s needs. 

We also assist with housing, and keeping folks connected to service providers by supplying telephones and monthly service. 

The majority of folks we serve were born where they now live in tents, and once had property ownership in their families here in the bay area, but no longer do. Most are seniors, and many of them are now sick and/or disabled.

The Fondazione Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza – Opera di San Pio da Pietrelcina (transl. Home for the Relief of Suffering Foundation – Work of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina) is a not-for-profit research hospital located in the city of San Giovanni Rotondo (FG), in the Puglia Region, Southern Italy.
As per Canon 1303 §1 of the Code of Canon Law, it has public, canonical and civil legal personality; it is therefore subject to the supervision of the Holy See and, on its behalf, of the pro-tempore Cardinal Secretary of State. 
Many of the stages that have thus far marked the history of the Work of San Pio of Pietrelcina have been achieved thanks to the loving generosity of many benefactors who, sharing the mission indicated by San Pio da Pietrelcina, the relief of suffering, wanted to donate to his work.

HISTORY
The hospital was founded and inaugurated by Saint Pio of Pietrelcina on May 5, 1956 with a capacity of 250 beds. It took on the status of Provincial Hospital on 4 August 1971 and then of Regional General Hospital on 2 June 1980, thus becoming part of the Italian National Healthcare System. Since 16 July 1991, with a Decree of the Minister of Health and the Minister of University and Scientific Research, it has been a Research Hospital. Originally, the object of its scientific activity was limited to genetic and hereditary-familial diseases; subsequently, the Minister of Health, by the 5 December 2012 Decree, extended the research areas of its competence to "Genetic diseases, innovative therapies and regenerative medicine". Recently, on the occasion of the presentation of the research lines for the three-year programme of the Italian Research Hospitals 2022-2024, Casa Sollievo identified “Diagnostic acitivity, Neurology and Oncology” as its main research thematic areas, thus becoming a polythematic Research Hospital.

MISSION
The Foundation's mission is to provide health care and carry out research activities. In addition, the Foundation offers training activities for its personnel.
Around 2,750 people work at the Foundation.
The Foundation (hereinafter “CSS”) consists of three structures based in San Giovanni Rotondo: the hospital Casa Sollievo, the polyclinic Giovanni Paolo II, where outpatient activities are carried out, and the ISBReMIT research center for regenerative medicine (Institute for Stem-cell Biology, Regenerative Medicine and Innovative Therapies); and the Mendel Institute in Rome, where research and diagnostic activities are carried out. In San Giovanni Rotondo, it also owns and runs a retirement home for the elderly.
In addition, CSS owns 3 hospitality facilities where affordable accommodation is offered to hospitalized patients’ relatives who have to assist them; and another facility (Casa Zeni) where accommodation is offered free of charge to the parents of the little patients hospitalized in the oncology-hematology unit.
Moreover, the Foundation includes the Padre Pio Prayer Groups Centre, which was also founded by San Pio and coordinates the Padre Pio prayers groups throughout the world, according to the Founder’s wish that Prayers Groups live and testify the importance of prayer and pray for CSS.
Lastly, CSS publishes a monthly periodical and posts on the Foundation’s official channels on the web updates on its research and clinical activity and its spiritual activity and the teachings of the Founder.
The hospital offers assistance also to people from underdeveloped countries. 
Moreover, a free-of-charge shuttle service has been provided for many years to radiotherapy patients coming from Bari and surrounding cities (Southern Puglia).

THE CLINICAL ACTIVITY
CSS has around 756 beds, 38 medical and surgical inpatient units, 26 operating rooms, in addition to services, diagnostic and multi-specialist outpatient units.
In 2022, the hospital recorded over 30,000 hospitalizations and 870,000 outpatient performances. 
Regarding the advanced technological equipment, CSS has 1 "Da Vinci" surgical robot, 1 PET/CT device, 3 linear accelerators, 4 CT devices, 1 CT simulator for radiotherapy, 4 NMR equipment, 3 digital angiographs, 2 gamma cameras and a RIS/PACS system for the filmless management of the radiology department.
Furthermore, CSS hosts an Umbilical Cord Bank and a Human Milk Bank.
Recent Achievements
In addition to the many important activities carried out in CSS, 3 new units have been opened: 1. a new Emergency Room hosting an Observation and Assessment Ward; 2. an Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Center. 3. an Sub-Intensive Geriatric Unit. 
CSS has also established a Stroke Unit, a Lung Unit, a Breast Unit, a Head and Neck Unit, and a Molecular Tumor Board to guarantee appropriate, quality and homogeneous procedures.
Future goals
Important technological investments have been planned for the years 2023-2025 in the following areas: oncology/nuclear medicine, diagnostic imaging, ICU, and surgery. 

THE RESEARCH ACTIVITY
The research activity is conducted in the Polyclinic, the ISBReMIT research center and at the Mendel Institute, for a total of 17 research groups.
Recent achievements
The consolidated experience of the staff working in CSS in the study of genetic diseases since 1991 and the continuous updating of technologies, instrumentation and genomics and post-genomics skills have made it possible to direct the research and clinical-assistance activity towards two complementary research lines: "personalized medicine - system biomedicine" and "regenerative medicine" based on the study of tumor stem cells and the use of normal stem cells.
The scientific fields in which the Institute is mostly involved in "personalized medicine" concern the identification of the genetic causes of rare diseases and the identification of diagnostic, prognostic and predictive markers in complex pathologies, including tumor pathologies. Regarding the identification of the genetic causes of rare diseases, we use the new next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and the skills acquired by the bioinformatics unit, one of the first established at national level. In parallel, the Institute boasts a large collection of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), produced from patient fibroblasts, in which pathogenetic variants have been identified, and use the skills acquired in differentiating them into mature cells, in particular astrocytes, neurons and oligodendrocytes.
Regarding regenerative medicine, two important studies were conducted and concluded: a phase I trial on anti-Multiple Sclerosis therapy based on the use of human neural stem cells, approved by the Ministry of Health and the Italian Medicines Authority AIFA (EudraCT code 2015-004855-37); and a phase I/II trial on anti-glioma therapy with biological drugs (EudraCT code: 2016-001761-92). The results of these studies will published in prestigious international journals.
In 2015, the new ISBReMIT Regenerative Medicine Research Center was started. It is a cutting-edge structure in terms of conception and equipment in the field of translational medicine for genetic, degenerative and oncological diseases. The structure hosts, together with the highly technologically equipped laboratories, a cell factory and a laboratory for the production of biopharmaceuticals under Good Manufacturing Practice, i.e. for clinical use, including somatic stem cells and iPS, vectors for gene therapy and biomaterials.
It should be noted that CSS has recently become part of three Networks of the Italian Research Centers: since 2016 it has been an Ordinary Associate of Alleanza Contro il Cancro; since December 2018, of the National Research Network on Aging; and, finally, since March 2020 of the Neuroscience Network. Starting from 2022, CSS has been part of the European reference networks for rare and uncommon diseases (European Reference Networks - ERN), in particular ERN-SKIN on diseases of dermatological interest, and ERN ReCONNET on musculoskeletal diseases and pathologies of the connective tissue.
Researchers publish about 200 scientific articles in the most renowned journals (Science, New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Genetics) every year. They are engaged both as Principal Investigators and as partners in research projects in the biomedical field and ICT, obtaining funds from the EU (H2020 and FP7) and national or regional calls.
CSS is also a partner in Research and Innovation projects funded by private and public bodies, e.g. from the EU both under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, in the field of digital transformation of healthcare. The main areas of involvement concern Assistive Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data generated by consumer devices, eHealth, Digital Therapies, the Internet of Things and Cybersecurity.
Future goals
Starting from the identification of the genetic causes of diseases, the goal is to develop advanced therapies to bring to the patient's bedside and tailored to him/her.
Furthermore, at the end of 2023, the phase II study "Neural Stem Cell Treatment for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: A multicenter, randomized placebo controlled and biological endpoints clinical Trial" (EudraCt 2018-002373-22) will be launched. This involves the use of neural stem cells on patients suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

CONCLUSION
Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza was born of the visionary mind of a poor friar, one of the most important, recent and internationally recognized and prayed Saints, Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, right after the II World War, in a poor corner of the Southern Italy of those times. 
CSS, by its Statutes, is a not-for-profit organization. All the good work that has been done until now for the sick has been possible thanks to the generosity of donors and to the public and private funds that have been collected through the hard work of the Foundation’s researchers and clinicians, thus contributing importantly to the care of citizens from Southern Italy and underdeveloped countries and to the world research.

**Varanasi Burn Institute: Building India's Largest, State-of-the-Art Burn Care Hospital**

Every year, millions of burn survivors in India are denied the dignity of access to quality care and rehabilitation. India witnesses nearly **7 million burn injuries and over 140,000 deaths** annually, with fewer than 70 specialised burn units nationwide, albeit unevenly distributed, under-resourced, and often expensive to those who need them most. Survivors often include women, children, and acid attack victims, who live with tragic physical, emotional, and economic consequences. Yet, with only a little less than **70** dedicated burn centres for **1.4 billion people,** most of which lack modern equipment or trained specialists, comprehensive treatment is out of reach for millions.

The Varanasi Burn Institute (VBI) aims to change that. Currently under construction in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, **VBI will be India’s largest, state-of-the-art, not-for-profit hospital** dedicated entirely to burns, treating everything from acute emergencies to long-term rehabilitation. It will serve as a national model of excellence, transforming care for a population of over **400 million people across Northern and Eastern India.**

**When complete, the 125-bedded facility will feature:**

- **25 ICUs**, each with independent air handling units (AHUs) to minimise infection risk.
- **6 advanced modular operating theatres** equipped for complex reconstructive surgeries.
- **25 HDUs** (high dependency units/step-down ICUs), plus general, private, emergency, and post-operative wards.
- Dedicated dialysis, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychological support facilities for holistic recovery.
- **Accommodation and food facilities** for patients’ families, ensuring support during long treatments.
- 	**Modern Skin Bank**: A game-changing facility for major burn victims, capable of storing donor skin for up to **5 years.**
- 	**In-house** Blood Bank for rapid, life-saving transfusions.
- **Telemedicine network**, providing 24×7 guidance to peripheral hospitals for emergency burn management.
- **Specialised Acid Burn Care** **Unit** offering tailored treatment, counselling, and rehabilitation.
- **Research Laboratory focused** on cultured skin development, advanced wound healing, infection control, and new treatment protocols.
- 	**Training & Education Centre** to build the next generation of burn specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- **Collaboration with Government Health Systems** to train PHCs, UPHCs, and district hospitals, improving burn care at the grassroots level.

**OUR MODEL**

VBI will run on a **cross-subsidy model**, with **75%** of patients treated free or at subsidised rates, using government schemes such as PM-JAY/Ayushman Bharat, and the remaining **25%** being paid patients. 

**OUR IMPACT**
In its first 20 years, VBI is projected to treat nearly **2 million patients** and prevent over **200,000 families** from falling into poverty due to catastrophic health expenses. Its specialised care will prevent lifelong disabilities, restore livelihoods, and empower survivors to live with dignity.

This is a ₹125 crore ($15M) project. We wholeheartedly thank the **Thompson Family Foundation (USA)** for the lead gift. We have secured approximately ₹50 crore ($6M) and expect to raise another ₹25 crore ($3M) within the next year. We provide emergency food and necessities to those in our community who need immediate assistance. We operate our main pantry in Kalispell and four satellite pantries around the Flathead Valley.

At Flathead Food Bank, our mission is simple but powerful: *to eliminate hunger in the Flathead Valley by providing access to nutritious food and supporting long-term solutions to food insecurity.*

Every day, we work to make that mission a reality through programs that meet people where they are—whether that’s in our Kalispell pantry, at one of our rural mobile pantry stops, or through partnerships with schools, senior centers, and local organizations. We distribute millions of pounds of food each year, including fresh produce, milk, eggs, and meat, to thousands of families across our region.

But we don’t stop at emergency food assistance. We believe in building dignity and hope. We offer client-choice shopping so families can select the food that fits their needs, and we focus on healthy options to support long-term wellness. We’re also committed to reducing food waste by rescuing surplus items from grocery stores and farms and getting them into the hands of those who need them most.

**Who is Iya Tahirah?**

Iya Tahirah AbuBakr, born River Lee Adams, was raised in Pocahontas, Mississippi as the eldest of seven children in a family of sharecroppers who turned hardship into strength and purpose. At seventeen, she left Mississippi for New Orleans, and in her early twenties moved to New York City, where her community activism within the Black Liberation Movement laid the foundation for a lifelong path of service as a social worker and community leader.

Her spiritual journey led to initiation into **Ifa** by **Ifa Priestess Yemọja**, grounding her in the ancestral Yoruba traditions of West Africa. A graduate of Social and Cultural Anthropology from IU Indianapolis, and trained in shamanism with **Malidoma Somé**, she emerged as Iya Tahirah AbuBakr—medicine woman, diviner, shamanic practitioner, and founder and co-founder of the St. Croix Council of Elders.

Iya Tahirah has dedicated her life to the service of humanity, with a deep commitment to nurturing youth and leaving the Earth better than she found it. Supporting Iya Tahirah ensures her wisdom, resilience, and sacred legacy continue to uplift future generations.

 **What is going on with her health?**

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Iya Tahirah was found alone in her home and rushed to the hospital, having suffered physical injury from a fall that was a result of an [ischemic stroke.](https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/24208-ischemic-stroke-clots) 

At first, the prognosis was dark (she only had days to live). We believe now that this was a combination of her condition (we estimate 36 hours between the stroke and when she was found), and the doctor’s inability to see beyond the facts (age, race) and into the truth. Iya Tahirah has shown that she is cogent, lucid, and generally aware of what is going on. She has begun the long walk to recovery and she needs our support, now.

An international study centre for textiles, textile crafts, and dress, worldwide and from prehistory to the present day.

The Textile Research Centre (TRC) is a knowledge centre set up in 1991 as an independent foundation. Since 2009 it is housed at Hogewoerd 164, in the centre of historic Leiden, The Netherlands. Here it has the use of an exhibition space, a large depot, offices and workrooms. The basic aim of the TRC is to give the study of textiles, dress, and accessories their proper place in the field of humanities and social sciences, but also in the context of crafts and craft education. The TRC does so by providing courses and lectures, carrying out research and by the presentation of textiles and dress from all over the world. The two main focal points of the TRC are (a) dress and identity: what people wear in order to say who they are and (b) textile crafts and technology, both pre-industrial and industrial.

In order to reach its objectives, the TRC houses various collections, of more than 50,000 items, including a Textile and Garment Collection and a Reference Collection for fibres, threads, dyes, weaves, printed and machine embroidered textiles, and so forth. Most of the objects are photographed, and are available online (open access), with detailed information, In addition, research is aided by the TRC’s library (some 6,500 books, a large collection of articles, as well as visual material such as photographs, prints and postcards). Students, designers and academics come from many countries to Leiden to use the TRC’s facilities and to attend workshops and courses.

Dear Cherished Supporter,

Thank you for taking a moment to connect with our mission. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our journey with you—a journey born from a deep, instinctive need to care for our Elders. **In March 2020, at the onset of the global pandemic, we leapt into action to support our Asian American elder community, who were facing devastating food insecurity, isolation, and loneliness.**

While many believe the urgency that defined the pandemic has passed, **the reality for our Elders remains critical. Even now, 1 in 3 Asian American older adults live below the poverty line.** These challenges are not new. For decades, this community has been overlooked, its struggles masked by the harmful “model minority” myth, which conceals the deep inequities faced by Asian American Elders. This, combined with language barriers, technology gaps, and economic hardship, means that many continue to lack access to the resources and care they deserve.

Out of a guttural instinct to protect and uplift our Elders, we **transformed our 300 square-foot apartment on the cusp of Chinatown and the Lower East Side into a sanctuary of cultural resonance and care.** We hyperfocused on those in the most critical state, providing emergency food relief and addressing their emotional needs through handwritten notes in their native languages, making sure our Elders felt seen, valued, and dignified.

**These care packages are more than just food—they are a lifeline.** Filled with culturally meaningful lunchboxes and fresh groceries beloved in Asian immigrant households like bok choy, rice, mung beans (and more!), all lovingly bundled inside decorated bags, attached with notes of love & joy that deliver warmth, connection, and belonging.

As our work evolved beyond emergency relief, we **built Heart of Dinner into a nonprofit focused on sustainable care.** Thanks to our incredible community of donors, partners, volunteers, and small team of staff, we have transformed into a **501(c)(3) public charity that continues to nourish and uplift our Elders, week after week.**

By Summer 2024, **we have delivered over 200,000 meals to beloved Elders living in significantly under-resourced and underinvested communities across New York City.** And our work is far from over. The challenges our Elders face didn’t begin with the pandemic, and they certainly won’t end with it. **These hardships are rooted in long-standing societal and governmental neglect, where policies and systems have historically overlooked the needs of this community.**

**Looking forward, we have plans to build Heart of Dinner's own delivery infrastructure with a fleet of electric vehicles, hire a dedicated team of drivers trained in our protocols—which emphasize cultural respect and thoughtful care when serving our Elders—and we aim to increase our care package distribution by 25%.** **These efforts will build upon our ongoing commitment to delivering care packages to our Elders and existing beneficiaries with the same high level of deep care and compassion.**

Our latest business initiative in Kenya is Beehives. We have started two apiaries with 25 hives each in two separate villages. The beehives are a long term investment that we expect to pay big dividends in self reliance for these communities. A purchase of 25 Beehives is about a $4000 investment. Gabriel, Caroline and Emmanuel, 3 of our students live with their widowed mother, Meleon, in this mud hut that has reached the point of collapse. Funding of $500 has been provided. We need to raise an additional $500-$1000 to build a new home with solar lighting and a water tank to store rain water off the roof. This will provide a clean, dry and safe environment with adequate lighting to do studies. It gets dark at 6:00 pm in Kenya year round.  The water tank will eliminate long treks to fetch water for cooking and drinking.

Projects range from raising chickens for eggs, meat and market, goats and cows for milk, meat or market. We establish gardens in communities for the production of food for consumption and market.

*Clean, safe, dry and adequate living accommodations are essential for families to thrive. We provide solar power for homes where electricity is not available. Students achieve better results in school when basic home lighting is available in the evening hours so they can study and read. 

Money raised through fund raisers and direct individual donations go directly to No End to Love’s humanitarian and charitable purposes. Administration costs are self funded and supplemented with 5% from proceeds from our Savers Clothing Drives. We have no staff or rent to pay but there are always some expenses involved when running an organization.

Boots on the ground, grassroots community effort to make Seattle beautiful and safe for all to enjoy

We Heart Seattle is an action-based, boots-on-the-ground movement that organizes trash cleanups in our public spaces and offers resources to those in need.  Through our direct civic engagement we lead the way to a more compassionate and healthy community.

To meet these goals, we:

* Organize regular volunteer trash cleanups in public spaces
* Offer individualized assistance to those in need 
* Create a sense of community by welcoming everyone to be involved in real civic engagement
* Build a network of people who no longer walk by neighbors in need and areas needing repair while expecting someone else to help
* Utilize all available safe housing, shelters, and treatment facilities for anyone who is ready
* House our neighbors quickly without the typical restrictions, delays and inefficiency that has kept many on the streets
* Clean up litter and eradicate graffiti
* Develop great partnerships with like-minded stakeholders
* Work cooperatively with city and county employees and leaders

We are a community-based, non-profit organization that serves the homeless and at-risk populations of the Mid-Peninsula. We establish environments and build relationships where community volunteers can provide food and clothing, as well as referrals for shelter, addiction recovery, and other personal support.

Street Life Ministries (or SLM) began in 2001 at the downtown Menlo Park train station. Today, due to the help of many people, it now serves over 35,000 meals a year, five nights a week, in Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Redwood City. For 20 years SLM gatherings have built a reputation as the one consistent place the homeless can count on. Whether it is a holiday, a cloudy or rainy day, SLM never varies from the set schedule, giving the homeless a stable option throughout the year.

SLM is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a board of directors, and is very different from many “feeding ministries.” It serves a unique role in the way it cares for the homeless and the hungry in San Mateo/Santa Clara Counties. Hot, home cooked meals served in outdoor venues are less threatening for our homeless neighbors, fostering a safe environment for relational connections to develop with the SLM leaders and volunteers. These connections build trust for guiding homeless friends toward healthier decisions, medical assistance, detox, rehab, housing, mentorship and counseling. In addition to food and encouragement, SLM provides clothing, toiletry kits, sleeping bags, medical supplies, temporary shelter, recovery services and job assistance to those in need. 

SLM is also unique because it places its staff and its services “in the streets”, and “in the camps”, where the homeless live. It reaches more homeless people directly in those street locations than traditional professional service agencies. Additionally, no other homeless non-profit in the area provides local residents with the large number (over 6000 hours per year, estimated) of volunteer hours of opportunity to meet directly and be served on a face to face basis as we do. Homeless folks need love, care, trustworthy friends, and reliable, regular support to improve and/or recover. SLM is “in the trenches and on the street” every day, helping our homeless neighbors. SLM’s outreach can be accessed at all hours of the day and night.

Food Share of Lincoln County is one of 21 regional food banks in the Oregon Food Bank network.  Food Share of Lincoln County distributes food to its network of  local emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, produce drops, senior food box home delivery and other assistance agencies in addition to facilitating cooking classes and farmers' market tours..
