St. Thomas Aquinas Trust: a pious foundation that supports the needs & causes of the Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan.

The Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan have their Motherhouse in Alma, Michigan; they number about 120 Sisters, spread throughout the world in 13 States and 6 countries. Each Sister of Mercy offers her life to be the convergence point between the mercy of the Lord and the misery of mankind. The ways in which a Sister of Mercy of Alma, Michigan serves Holy Mother Church in the apostolate are various, but they are characterized by their vow of service with an emphasis in healthcare, education, and the care of distressed women. 

The Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma helped to found the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious in 1992 and continue to actively support the priesthood and religious life through formation workshops, times of retreat, authorship, etc.

The Religious Sisters of Mercy were originally founded in Dublin, Ireland by Venerable Catherine McAuley in 1831. They were one of the first institutes of active Religious Life, vowed to a life a prayer and the works of Mercy. In 1973, under the direction of the Sacred Congregation of Religious, the Religious Sisters of Mercy were refounded by 10 Sisters of Mercy and one Dominican Sister. The fist 11 Sisters were dedicated to preserving the Charism of Mercy so as to incarnate the Mercy of God the Father to the poor, sick, and ignorant. And this included preserving the essential elements of Religious Life, such as wearing a religious habit, praying in common, being obedient to a religious superior, etc.

Our Lady's Ministry is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) that brings spiritual and material assistance to the poor, to countries that have suffered natural disasters, to inmates, seminaries and institutions that are most in need.  Private benefactors support us financially, materially or by offering their voluntary help.  This Ministry started in 1994 and received its nonprofit status in 1999.  The Ministry and its lay missionaries evangelize by means of the Word of God and carry out the teachings, doctrines and works of charity that are in conformity with the Catholic Church.

In 2022, over 80 million messages were accessed via our broadcast purchases.  Another 10 million messages were accessed through other online digital placements.  But viewership has never been our end goal.

Not simply engagement with us.  Ultimately, our goal is for religiously unaffiliated people to engage with a local church.  Not a small task to say the least.  But one we are committed to nonetheless.  And thanks to generous donations and support, we are making progress.

Gator Wilderness Camp School is located in Charlotte County in southwest Florida. Located on a 250 acre property, Gator Wilderness Camp is a year around camping program designed specifically to serve adolescent boys from the ages of 11-15 years old. This group of boys is significantly struggling to interpret a myriad of issues in their families, schools, and communities. We are a private, non-profit (501C3) organization dedicated to sharing Christ’s unconditional love with families and their sons. Friends of Ridhwan is a student-run organization designated by the Ridhwan School’s Obsidian Synod as the body responsible for both short-term and future-oriented fundraising on behalf of the School.  It has been created to act cooperatively and to co-evolve with the School and its various manifestations.  Both the Ridhwan Foundation and Friends of Ridhwan serve under the guidance of the Obsidian Synod. 

Establishing a separate legal entity for fund raising activities frees the Ridhwan Foundation to serve fully in its role to support teachers and students in the School, train and ordain teachers, and present programs to the public.  It creates a desired separation between the teaching and the activities of seeking and receiving charitable gifts.

The Bollandist Society is a Jesuit research institute dedicated to the critical study of Greek, Latin, Oriental and vernacular hagiographic literature as well as to the history of the saints and their cults. Founded in the early 17th century this is one of the oldest scientific societies in the world. Our research, study, safeguard and promotion of this unique heritage is possible thanks to our specialized library of 500.000 volumes, that has become an indispensable point of reference in the study of critical hagiography world-wide.

City Relief exists to create connections for the hurting and homeless to resources and hope.

City Relief uses mobile resource centers to assist people dealing with poverty and homelessness. These outreaches happen eight times a week in different areas of New York City and New Jersey. We serve hot meals, provide hygiene kits and socks, help our guests to feel safe and comfortable, invite our guests into community with staff, volunteers and other guests, treat them with dignity and compassion, and provide an opportunity to speak to our trained staff who will connect them to life-changing resources and a community of care.

We exist thanks to private donations and for as little as $1.05, you can provide a meal for someone that would have to choose between eating and another necessity. You’ll also be creating a system of wrap-around, holistic care for people that desperately need someone to catch them once they’ve fallen. Thank you for your donation!

We are a community-based, non-profit organization that serves the homeless and at-risk populations of the Mid-Peninsula. We establish environments and build relationships where community volunteers can provide food and clothing, as well as referrals for shelter, addiction recovery, and other personal support.

Street Life Ministries (or SLM) began in 2001 at the downtown Menlo Park train station. Today, due to the help of many people, it now serves over 35,000 meals a year, five nights a week, in Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Redwood City. For 20 years SLM gatherings have built a reputation as the one consistent place the homeless can count on. Whether it is a holiday, a cloudy or rainy day, SLM never varies from the set schedule, giving the homeless a stable option throughout the year.

SLM is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a board of directors, and is very different from many “feeding ministries.” It serves a unique role in the way it cares for the homeless and the hungry in San Mateo/Santa Clara Counties. Hot, home cooked meals served in outdoor venues are less threatening for our homeless neighbors, fostering a safe environment for relational connections to develop with the SLM leaders and volunteers. These connections build trust for guiding homeless friends toward healthier decisions, medical assistance, detox, rehab, housing, mentorship and counseling. In addition to food and encouragement, SLM provides clothing, toiletry kits, sleeping bags, medical supplies, temporary shelter, recovery services and job assistance to those in need. 

SLM is also unique because it places its staff and its services “in the streets”, and “in the camps”, where the homeless live. It reaches more homeless people directly in those street locations than traditional professional service agencies. Additionally, no other homeless non-profit in the area provides local residents with the large number (over 6000 hours per year, estimated) of volunteer hours of opportunity to meet directly and be served on a face to face basis as we do. Homeless folks need love, care, trustworthy friends, and reliable, regular support to improve and/or recover. SLM is “in the trenches and on the street” every day, helping our homeless neighbors. SLM’s outreach can be accessed at all hours of the day and night.
