My youngest son, Connor, 24, was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 12.  It has been a challenging, unpredictable and difficult journey, trying to find a treatment that works to control this frightening disease so that he can live a safe and normal life.

For more than five decades, the Epilepsy Foundation has shone a light on epilepsy. The Foundation and its nationwide network of nearly 50 partners connects people to treatment, support and resources; leads advocacy efforts; funds innovative research and the training of specialists; and educates the public about epilepsy and seizure first aid.

Our local network provides direct services and connections in communities across the United States for individuals and families impacted by seizures and epilepsy. Each local foundation provides education and outreach to community organizations like school systems, emergency services, and local governments.

We provide educational support for individuals and families to help make sure they can manage and control their seizures to the best of their ability. Special initiatives help individuals and caregivers improve their overall health and raise awareness about the risk of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP). In addition, we educate the general public to help improve understanding of epilepsy, seizure recognition, and first aid.
