Did you know that 1.3 million children in Kenya between 10-19 years old struggle with mental health? ChezaCheza has developed a robust dance therapy curriculum built to improve the mental health and well-being of children.

ChezaCheza is a Kenyan not-for-profit founded in 2018, and we are on a mission to create access to safe spaces for children in marginalised communities where dance supports their mental health and well-being.

Through our therapeutic dance sessions, children experience the joy of dancing while flourishing into young adults with strong minds who show up in life with self-esteem and high self-awareness and approach life’s challenges with responsible actions.

Our Why
Children in marginalised communities live in a chronic environment of stress, with high levels of violence, abuse and adversity. 

This is an environment that induces toxic stress, making it difficult for children to regulate their emotions, resulting in impulsive actions and decisions, physical acting out, drug abuse, anxiety, and low self-esteem. ChezaCheza wants to use dance as therapy to combat this.

Community Dance Coaches
We find, train and equip dancers from marginalised communities to become Community-Based Dance Coaches who create safe spaces in their communities and schools.

Through an intensive training program, they gain skills to guide a ChezaCheza session, where they teach children how dance can be a tool for expressing their feelings, releasing stress, and building confidence.

Weekly Dance Sessions
Children receive a child-friendly, fun and culturally appropriate mental health service through weekly therapeutic dance sessions.

Each session incorporates Dance Movement Therapy, Social-Emotional Learning and Mindfulness Meditation.

Concerning data reveals that 23% of Asian New Yorkers live in poverty, significantly higher than the citywide average of 16% of all New Yorkers. And a staggering 28% of Asian American older adults 65+ live in poverty. As the American Bar Association reveals, Asian elders, especially those from immigrant backgrounds, endure more social isolation and mental health struggles than their peers due to linguistics, financial, and cultural barriers. These factors combined significantly impact the mental and emotional well-being of Asian American older adults in a city where depression and suicide among older adult immigrants are on the rise.

Dear Cherished Supporter,

Thank you for taking a moment to connect with our mission. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to share our incredible journey with you—a journey that began with a genuine concern for our beloved elderly Asian American community. In the midst of the challenging times brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, we witnessed the hardships faced by our elders, from food insecurity to intense loneliness and social isolation. The urgency to act became even more apparent when we learned that a staggering 28% of Asian American older adults in NYC live in poverty, surpassing the citywide average of 16%. It is crucial to understand that the pervasive "model minority" myth masks the very real challenges this community endures. This stereotype not only oversimplifies the diverse experiences within our community but also perpetuates harmful narratives, leaving many elders without the vital resources they need and leading to isolation and despair.

It is in these times that Heart of Dinner was born—a heartfelt response to nurture those who remind us of our own grandparents. We felt a deep calling to reassure our Asian American elders that they are cherished, seen, and valued beyond measure. For many of us, especially those with immigrant heritage, food holds a significance that goes far beyond sustenance. It is a profound gesture overflowing with love, respect, and cultural richness.

Our journey began in a humble 350 square-foot apartment on the cusp of Chinatown and the Lower East Side. We transformed our home into a sanctuary of cultural resonance and dignified care for our Elders. Starting with homemade meals that brought back memories of comforting family dishes that our own grandparents loved to eat, paired with handwritten notes of love and joy on each to-go container. We soon expanded to providing comprehensive care packages.

These care packages are more than just nutrients, they are filled with culturally thoughtful items like bok choy, bags of rice, and mung beans. And to add more layers of personal touch, we build care packages using bags that are uniquely hand-illustrated and attached with handwritten notes in our beneficiaries’ native languages to evoke a sense of home and connection. We organize extraordinary volunteers, worldwide, to contribute their heartfelt notes and bags!

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our community. Heart of Dinner's champions, donors, partners, dedicated team, extraordinary volunteers, and collaborators have been instrumental in our journey. We are incredibly honored to share that our journey navigating from a pop-up relief efforts initiative to a budding 501c3 public charity has been a labor of love, intention, and meticulous care. Carrying on our mission beyond the time of the Covid-19 pandemic holds a special place in our hearts, as it signifies our unwavering commitment to serving and uplifting our beloved Asian American community of Elders who've faced inequities for far too long. As of early 2024, Heart of Dinner has provided over 185,000 meals across NYC reaching beneficiaries who live in significantly under-resourced and underinvested communities.

There is growing awareness of the extraordinary wisdom originally developed and perennially sustained by the world’s ancestral indigenous peoples – peoples whose cultural genesis can be traced back to the original times. 

It is in the return to the sacred origins and principles of this ancestral wisdom – calling for the unification of all peoples with the earth – that a return to balance and sustainability is to be found. The vision of The Fountain, and the extraordinary sacredness of its origin and seed, is of partnership between sharing original teachings, conscious collaboration, and being in action to activate sacred economics and sacred territories.

Through the deep understanding, experience and relationships contained in its ecosystem, The Fountain exists to catalyse this journey to reconnection and ultimately to unification through its vision, mission, and values.

The ARChive of Contemporary Music is a not-for-profit music library dedicated to collecting, preserving and providing information about popular music from around the world.    Now in its twenty-eighth year of operation, ARC is the largest and most important popular music collection in the world – with over three million sound recordings and approximately four million  photographs, books, press kits, videos, memorabilia and related ephemera.   Our simple goal is to guarantee that the world’s musical heritage is preserved for future generations to study and enjoy.     We believe that all forms of popular music, jazz, be-bop, bluegrass, country, rock, rap, blues, enka, reggae, calypso, zydeco, and countless other forms are significant cultural expressions.  All musics entertain as well as reveal a people and their values to the rest of the world.

ICAF employs the power of the arts for students' identity development through its school art program, the Arts Olympiad, followed by the World Children's Festival on the National Mall across the U.S. Capitol.

**Arts Olympiad**
Objective: To transform children's self-identity through the arts for higher-order thinking and enhanced self-worth that teaches students to foster their creativity and engage in physical activity to counter the epidemic of declining creativity and rising obesity.

The Arts Olympiad introduces students to the "Artist-Athlete Ideal" of the creative mind and a healthy body (*mente sana in corpo sano*). The structured lesson plans motivate students to think of themselves and others not as techies, nerds, jocks, or artsy but as artist-athletes. The coalescing of artistic and athletic mindsets sprouts outside-the-box thinking and instills healthy lifestyles.

The Arts Olympiad requires students to visualize and depict themselves as artist-athletes in their paintings, drawings, or digital art, which solidifies their revised self-image as artist-athletes. When the number of artist-athletes grows, the school becomes a more creative, healthy, and forward-looking community.

The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee has granted ICAF an exclusive license to use the "Arts Olympiad" mark.

**World Children's Festival**
Objective: To develop mutual empathy with three days of workshops, activities, and training at the National Mall across the U.S. Capitol.

The Arts Olympiad winners from the participating U.S. school districts and countries convene at their World Children's Festival (WCF) to celebrate Creativity, Diversity, and Unity.

The WCF workshops, training, and activities are designed to provide a transformative experience that infuses children's creativity with empathy, inspiring them to become "creative-empaths" who can work together to make the world a better place.

To be a creative-empath requires a quality of character that can help overcome adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and disrupt the intergenerational transmission of trauma and hatred that seeps into the young, like physical traits or melanin. The WCF is not only fun and entertainment but an effective intervention that makes it unlike any other children's festival, nationally or globally.

**ChildArt Magazine**
Objective: Creative and empathic development of young readers.
Published ad-free since 1998, ChildArt is a unique magazine that focuses on a single theme for each issue. Recent themes include Creativity, Human Security, Young Leaders, The Power of Words, Mindfulness, Metaverse, Animal Art, and Dance.

**ICAF's Impact**
Over the past twenty-five years, ICAF has changed the world for children. More than five million schoolchildren have participated in and benefited from ICAF's free-of-charge programs. An estimated two million students, parents, and teachers have attended ICAF festivals, exhibitions, and conferences in over twenty major cities worldwide. ChildArt quarterly’s readership has grown to about 220,000.

**Funding**
The National Endowment of the Art, the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation, the Robert J. Bauer Family Foundation, Cretors Family Foundation, the Skillman Foundation and Ward & MM Family Fund supported ICAF in 2023/2024. 

Nearly one-half of ICAF program expenses are funded by individual donors. ICAF is independently ranked among the 25 Top Children's Charities in the United States.

ProPublica is an independent, non-profit newsroom that produces investigative journalism in the public interest. Our work focuses exclusively on truly important stories, stories with “moral force.” We do this by producing journalism that shines a light on exploitation of the weak by the strong and on the failures of those with power to vindicate the trust placed in them.  Investigative journalism is at risk. Many news organizations have increasingly come to see it as a luxury. Today’s investigative reporters lack resources: Time and budget constraints are curbing the ability of journalists not specifically designated “investigative” to do this kind of reporting in addition to their regular beats. New models are, therefore, necessary to carry forward some of the great work of journalism in the public interest that is such an integral part of self-government, and thus an important bulwark of our democracy.

A community-based volunteer EMS organization committed to providing the fastest response to medical emergencies across Israel

United Hatzalah volunteers provide lifesaving medical care on the scene of emergencies prior to arrival of an ambulance. Medics arrive on average, within 2-4 minutes of the call for help, often faster. Receiving initial treatment within 4 minutes of the incident assures a higher chance of survival in critical situations, and speedier recovery from injuries and illness. The United Hatzalah medics treat and stabilize the patient and then integrate with the arriving ambulance crew who arrive typically 8-10 minutes after the initial call for help. In times of war and in times of peace, from missile strikes to hemorrhagic strokes, from terror attacks to heart attacks, from car accidents to childbirths – United Hatzalah medics are prepared for any eventuality.

Mystic Arts Foundation exists to support artists and develop artistic works that create the opportunity for transformation.

The Mystic Arts Foundation (“MAF”) is an organizational platform established to support and develop artistic works and pieces which provide experiences and environments that are conducive to personal transformation. 

MAF, a California corporation, is an IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which offers legal organization, structure, full-service turn-key administrative services, and financial support for transformative artists and their projects.  A primary purpose of MAF is to allow artists to play in their zone of genius and do what they do best – which is to create art … without being encumbered by many of the organizational, administrative, and fundraising hurdles of executing such important projects.  The MAF structure also provides contributors and grant providers full transparency, governance, and reporting to support their contribution/grant mission and serves to match benefactors of such artworks to well-vetted, managed, and operating artists and their projects.

MAF, born out of its inaugural project – the Mystic Flyer Art Car, has been established and formed as a tax-deductible nonprofit organization in order to effectively and efficiently solicit contributions and grants, creating a vibrant hub of creativity for transformative and immersive art experiences.  At first, it was named Mystic Flyer Arts Foundation, however, within a few months, it became clear that our mission was much larger than the mutant vehicle project that inspired its formation, and “Flyer” was dropped from public-facing written materials.  This change was officially recognized on 1/31/19.

The Board of Directors will primarily focus on selecting and supporting best-in-class artists that have the drive and vision to create works with the ability to transform an individual’s experience and consciousness.  MAF will support a diverse group of artists and art projects including the development of emerging artistic technologies, art cars, and other portable immersive exhibits which can be displayed and experienced in various formats.  Artists that are supported by MAF will have access to an extended network of constituents, supporters, and thought leaders as resources for both developing and then displaying their art.

It is the mission, duty, and purpose of The Mystic Arts Foundation (MAF) to bring interactive and immersive art experiences to the public in the United States and beyond.

MAF provides mobile and portable art platforms as an educational showcase for graphic artists, LED lighting artists, technology artists, music/sound artists, and more. We provide opportunities for learning about the arts and the creation of new art in all settings through workshops…whether we are working on new technologies or art in our warehouse facilities between events or at events open to the general public.

Education

MAF provides education in the arts as they relate to the current artists we are working with. Artists are invited to participate with the understanding that they will also provide live, interactive, or recorded education on how the particular art is conceived and developed from the inception of the idea to the completion of the art for display and interaction with the general public.

Programs for Volunteers

At times, per the discretion of the board of directors, we may provide internships or volunteer opportunities which will provide a pathway for involvement in art development and outreach activities and programs in order to have a greater impact on educating the public and introducing new art, artists, and technologies. Some of the activities that volunteers may be involved in are basic education on topics such as graphic design, painting, lighting design, visual perspectives, sound technologies, digital music creation, etc. Such activities shall always be free of charge to participants and will not include compensation to the volunteers.

Multimedia

It is our goal to bring awareness to interactive and immersive art from every medium possible and this does not exclude documentaries and photos of our activities, projects, programs, and expeditions. All programs and art projects will be available to the public through displays at festivals, events, and other public venues.

Our primary revenue is derived from donations.  We also accept supportive payments from a variety of commercial art venues where our participation is made possible by receiving payments used to cover the expenses involved.

Innovation has been a hallmark of the Whitney since its beginnings. The "I Have A Dream"​ Foundation--Los Angeles (IHADLA) provides long-term support to youth living in underserved communities to empower them to fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams. 

ABOUT US

The national “I Have A Dream” Foundation was established in 1981 by businessman, Eugene M. Lang, who was struck by the need for help and services that would encourage and enable young people in under-served communities to stay in school and ensure a more successful future for themselves and their families. Since then, over 200 “I Have a Dream” programs have operated in 28 states, Washington, DC and New Zealand.

Established in 1987, the “I Have A Dream” Foundation – Los Angeles is the only educational organization in L.A. that works with elementary school children through high school graduation and transitioning into college and guarantees them tuition and support through their post-secondary education. We have recently launched a college and career program that helps college students stay in and finish college and find work. Since its founding, IHADLA has supported over 11,500 community individuals – the students, their parents and siblings. Toward that end, students receive IHADLA’s full services of in- school, after-school, and year-round academic, social, and emotional support, designed to break the cycle of inter-generational poverty.

WHAT WE DO

IHADLA sponsors an entire grade level in an elementary school in underserved communities, working with students for 12+ consecutive years through high school graduation and beyond. We work to break the cycle of poverty by sponsoring entire classes of first graders in Title I schools.  We stay with our students (Dreamer Scholars) through high school graduation and into the college or career path they choose, providing them with tutoring, mentorship, cultural enrichment, emotional support, individualized case management, and guaranteed college scholarships.

Women of Color Unite (WOCU) is a social action non-profit organization focusing on fair access, fair treatment and fair pay for women of color in all aspects of the entertainment and media industries.  This organization works towards these goals by creating self-sustaining long-term programs for:  Facilitating fair hiring practices; Fostering a more inclusive and diverse workplace environment; Promoting access for excluded content creators; Expanding audiences represented by those excluded content creators; Raise funds for WOCU to produce their own content; Hold events, seminars, workshops, panels and summits to get more women of color hired, fund their projects and distribute their content; Work with additional organizations to develop analytics of under-represented marginalized groups to better identify their needs; and, Help companies incubate talent and integrate them into their work force.

Jacob “Val” Myers’ attempt to be the youngest person in human history to ski solo and unsupported to the Geographic South Pole

3 years ago Jacob “Val” Myers set out with the goal of being the youngest person in human history to ski solo and unsupported to the Geographic South Pole.  In that time he has travelled to the coldest regions of the world training in areas such as Canada’s Yukon Arctic and as far away as the historic glaciers of Norway.  Val has become a competent expeditioner and guide during his journey and began operating as a polar guide for the world-renowned Shackleton Challenges team comprised of other world record-holding polar travelers, mountaineers, and ocean rowers.

Never one to shy away from a chance to help others, Val has used his growing platform in pursuit of this world record to engage with and inspire Appalachian youth in the Eastern United States.  “Once I complete my long journey on the ice I intend on touring the Youngest to Pole Project in rural areas throughout the US and using everything that I’ve learned in outdoor spaces to get these kids plugged back into the outdoors as contributing members of a healthy, eco-conscious community.”

Social projects aside, Val has also partnered with Climate Force who he will support during their major reforestation project in Daintree.  Val intends on planting enough trees to offset the carbon produced in his own venture.

The Youngest to Pole Project 

Bringing music across the planet to those who need it most. Can music change the world? We believe it can.

Keys of Change is a charity formed by individuals who deeply believe that playing music can make this world a better place. Keys of Change aims to advance the lives of children and young people around the world through musical education and access to live classical music performances. The charity was set up in early 2011 by the international concert pianist Panos Karan, who works with three other trustees, all involved in music and/or education, and a growing number of committed volunteers in many countries.  ​ Over the past years, Keys of Change has brought classical music, often for the first time, to deprived or suffering audiences, in remote areas of the Amazon basin, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Kolkata and the tsunami-ravaged Fukushima area in Japan, as well as in Greece, Russia and London. Our music has brought alive emotions - fascination, happiness, tears of sadness – and generated hope and encouragement.  Wherever we go to perform, we also set up and fund musical education projects, working in conjunction with local music teachers. In Ecuador, we organise weekly guitar lessons for young people from deprived backgrounds. In Uganda and Sierra Leone, we have provided instruments and music lessons. In Fukushima and India, we have made regular visits to work with young musicians to improve their playing, and give them the opportunity to perform in joint concerts with Keys of Change musicians. In the case of Fukushima this culminated in the founding of the Fukushima Youth Sinfonietta, and organising for up to 50 young Japanese musicians to travel to London, to give a concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in April 2014, to Tokyo, performing at Tokyo Opera City in August 2015, and Symphony Hall, Boston, in April 2016.

Keys of Change

Over Everything is a non-profit record label and artist empowerment organization. 

Our goal is to help push the industry towards more fair and equitable practices by supplying free music industry education for indie artists and their team, and by offering development & release support to a select group of artists. 

We don’t “sign” anyone, instead we partner with artists on a non-exclusive basis for their releases taking absolutely no earnings along the way. All funds go directly to the creative collaborators (artist/producers/writers). 

Our primary mission is to help artists create sustainable independent careers, maintaining artistic control and ownership along the way. We supply creative & artistic development, legal support, project management services, and often act as a conduit between the artist and potential partners (distributors/labels/tastemaker support/managers/bookers etc).

Earth-based spirituality encourages us to seek healing and wisdom within our own bodies, through our connection with the natural world, and by listening to the ancestral wisdom that resides within. With this as the foundation of our spiritual practice, we learn to trust ourselves more and are able to experience our innate connection to all life, including human, plant and animal life. Some of the modalities we engage with are dreamwork, family constellation, embodiment practices, voice work, earth-based ceremony, and ancestor work.

It is no surprise the inequities that exist in our world are mirrored in our spiritual and healing communities. They manifest in a variety of ways, from programs and offerings that privilege those with wealth and resources to the unpaid and emotional labor often required of BIPOC participants in these spaces. These inequities live within a societal narrative that tells us we are separate: from one another, from our ancestors, from the earth, from our own deep knowing. We believe earth-based spirituality belongs to everyone. 

We strive to make spiritual healing work available to more people in our communities. We offer programs for free. For fee-based programs, we work to offer scholarships to QTBIPOC, elders and limited income participants. We want the participants and leaders of earth-based spirituality to be more representative of the cultures these practices derive from. Through our grant program we support BIPOC participants interested in exploring earth-based spirituality and healing and emerging BIPOC practitioners committed to our mission and values. We utilize a co-teaching model to bridge communities. 

As a volunteer-run organization, Bridging Spirit ensures 100% of donations and any revenue generated is reinvested directly into our mission. Additionally, a percentage of funds raised from events are donated to organizations supporting indigenous communities native to the land where those events are hosted.

Exchange program for visiting monastic scholars to help modernize education at Tibetan Buddhist institutions in India.

Since 2011, Kamalashila Initiative (KI) has offered its Visiting Scholars Program as a humble contribution to His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama's vision of modernizing education at Tibetan Buddhist institutions in India. Here, Buddhist scholars from KI partner institutions in India are invited to participate in a 10-week, intensive English as a Second Language program at the University of California, Irvine. 

While Visiting Scholars build their academic and linguistic capacity, they also engage in exciting cultural exchange activities in partnership with the local community. In doing so, KI leverages the wisdom of its Visiting Scholars, gained through a lifetime's dedication to Buddhist practice, to help increase the wellbeing of the local community through meditation and the cultivation of altruism.

Constantly expanding its network of partner organizations, the Center has recently become a member of the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage. Taube Jewish Heritage Tours Taube Jewish Heritage Tours is a mission-driven, on-the-ground Jewish heritage tour service based in Poland. Our professional team of academics, guides, educators, and community leaders provide meaningful and engaging customized tours of Poland's multicultural landscape, infusing each encounter with illuminating personal stories and insights from those engaged in Polish Jewish life and committed to the preservation of Polish Jewish heritage. TJHTalks Series Having suspended our flagship program, Taube Jewish Heritage Tours, we launched TJHTalks in April 2020 as an interactive way to maintain contact with past and future tour participants and to broaden the Center's audience. Yerusha: Professional Development Program The year-long program, now in its second year, distinguishes itself from other Jewish professional development opportunities in that the operative language is Polish and all workshop facilitators are based in Poland. Resource and Educational Materials The Taube Center has developed a sophisticated set of resource materials in several languages that support our educational programs and are especially valuable for our study tour program. Our publications have been disseminated at the POLIN Museum and the Galicia Jewish Museum and through Polish embassies and cultural institutions around the world.

beneFIT Fitness Challenges is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit that raises awareness of systemic racism and racial disparities in the United States through fitness challenges. Many American citizens stand against racism, but do not know how to get involved. At beneFIT, challenge participants can promote social equality simply by moving their bodies. Also, many Americans are unaware of the deeply rooted issues that have perpetuated systems of control for people of color and other marginalized populations for centuries. beneFIT aims to educate others about social injustices by tying the amount of activity and the funds donated to statistics about social injustices that exist today.

beneFIT is focused on painting a picture of the broad, overarching ways in which systemic racism manifests in our modern society so includes challenges that highlight multiple aspects of racial injustice and racial disparities. Participants track their activity using their fitness watch (Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, etc.) and submit their activity on social media. That activity is then turned into a donation that we make to an organization whose mission aligns with the issue we are highlighting that month. 

beneFIT emphasizes the importance of participants' engagement within their physical community and the e-community. Participants are encouraged to explore connections to social injustices where they live and share their experiences/reflections with others via social media which connects participants to the cause on a deeper, more personal and emotional level. As a result, participants are then equipped with the most powerful tool to facilitate real growth and change in our society: a story to be told, a conversation to begin.

About Alma Institute: 

Our mission is to strengthen and diversify the network of legal psychedelic service providers by offering prioritized enrollment and certification opportunities to people from marginalized communities. We seek to increase benefits and prevent harms by creating pathways to apprenticeship, employment, and ongoing peer support for facilitators in this growing field.

Launching in Oregon in 2023, our social justice-rooted training program practicum to prepare students for licensure under the nation’s first legal psilocybin services program. We seek to raise industry standards so people from all backgrounds can find belonging and thrive in psychedelic work. This requires anchoring in trauma-informed care, cultural humility, feedback, accountability, and meaningful practices of sacred reciprocity. 

We exist so psychedelic healing work can not only be available to our communities, but relevant to our ancestral and lived experiences and impactful for generations to come.

Our Approach:

We hold a strong focus on continued support and skill building for new graduates, and are weaving a culture of engagement, mentorship and accountability into our programming. We will support this by hosting in person and digital integration circles for new and experienced facilitators, supporting networks of student pods to continue learning together, and leading industry-wide conversations about ethical standards and care. 

Oregon ranks among the worst for mental health conditions and is dismal in access to therapy and psychiatric services. The numbers are even worse for people from marginalized social locations. These community members experience higher rates of the very mental health conditions that psilocybin can help address. However, psilocybin is not a cure-all. Wellbeing is systemic and depends on the harmony of a variety of factors. The success of psilocybin services will depend largely on the trust and rapport established between client and facilitator, the client's sense of safety and belonging, the environment in which services occur, and importantly, the follow-up care and support provided.

As in talk therapy, it is critical that patients have the option of working with someone who has shared identifiers and can relate to their lived experience. This is especially important when working with racial and gender-based trauma and deep healing processes. 

Additionally, the lasting benefits of psilocybin will rely on external factors, such as access to healthcare, safe and consistent housing, healthy food, community support, and gainful employment. It is essential that individuals working in this new industry understand and are engaged with the intersectional approach to wellbeing and community health; if they don't, the industry will be peddling a short-term band-aid solution, with service sites overwhelmed by high-paying experience seekers and fail to deliver on the promises of lasting change and healing promoted by the Psilocybin Services Act. 

Alma Institute seeks to bring a deeper inquiry to psychedelic therapies and help raise standards for the field at large. If we are successful, we can shift the conversation from one laser focused on mental health, to one about the historical roots of our suffering and the systemic shifts needed for collective healing.

Hansavedas Fellowship

The International Beethoven Project, est. 2008 as a NFP, celebrates the extraordinary lives & creative music of unique composers.

​​The mission of the International Beethoven Project is threefold: 

1) to celebrate Beethoven's music and humanist legacy

2) to make classical music more engaging, exciting and meaningful for all people

3) to serve as an educational resource 

By showcasing Beethoven as the revolutionary musician he was, we believe we can inspire new generations of listeners, performers and arts administrators to appreciate and engage with this art form. To do this, IBP has used many different approaches, from producing numerous events to making films, recordings and educational media.

Launching the "International Beethoven Day" initiative in 2021, IBP seeks to engage even more people across the world in carrying Beethoven's legacy of humanism and music forward.

Upcoming projects include a sweeping multi-media traversal of Beethoven's epic 32 piano sonatas that will include, in addition to recordings and films of the originals, music by contemporary composers and musicians inspired by the sonatas, along with readings of Beethoven's letters by actors and musicians and visual works of art to accompany the whole.

This project will be presented globally as well as brought to schools around the world.

IBP is also currently organizing the first-ever web3/blockchain/metaverse/NFT conference focused on the classical music sector.

From annual celebrations of Beethoven's birthday every December since 2010 and through his 250th anniversary in 2020, to multi-disciplinary festivals that have brought all the arts and many musical genres together under one roof, we have sought engagement across generations and society. 

"An event of world-class importance" (Chicago Tribune), IBP's Beethoven Festival has served as a showcase for what was possible in the future of classical music.

The International Beethoven Project has also produced several critically-hailed recordings, including a now-legendary album with a first-ever recording of a work by Beethoven, the Trio Hess 47, a top 25 on the Classical Billboard charts in 2010.

In the last few years, IBP has produced several music films and documentaries on Bach and Beethoven and continues to work on future productions. IBP's goal is to leverage the wide-reaching impact of audiovisual media to create novel ways of appreciating classical music's great classics, as well as inspiring contemporary composers and musicians.

International Beethoven Project

Trains and empowers educators/leaders to create racially equitable, safe, and empowering educational spaces for all youth.

The Center for Racial Justice in Education (CRJE) works to construct a new reality within our country's public school system; a world where all young people learn and thrive in equitable and affirming educational spaces. CRJE’s work with districts, schools, organizations, and community members result in empowered educators and leaders who are better equipped to build educational institutions that foster equitable outcomes, and ensure that all students have safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive spaces to learn.

 Since 2012 alone CRJE has trained over 17,000 educators/leaders, reached over 167,000 youth, and worked with over 400 educational partners in 17 states. Our work consists of intensive leadership and professional development trainings, longer-term, in-depth coaching and consultation, community-driven climate assessments, and youth-adult partnerships, all customized to meet the unique needs of each educational partner. In the long-term, through collective practice for educational equity at the institutional level, and through mutually accountable partnerships and coalition building at the community level, we aim to build an education system and spaces where all youth feel safe, and have access to a high-quality education. In this system, we will see:

- Students who are emotionally, physically and academically thriving. 
- Educators and leaders who have an ongoing, consistent practice of building educational communities grounded in equity. 
- Caregivers who are empowered to actively engage in community building.
- Public policy that has shifted to reflect racial equity and justice in education.

Center for Racial Justice in Education (CRJE)

Cultivate philanthropists to invest in organizations that empower underserved Asian and Pacific Islanders (API).

APCF was founded in 1990 by API community leaders in response to the need for alternative funding for Los Angeles-based nonprofit organizations serving API communities. Prior to its incorporation, less than 0.3% of all local foundation funds went to API agencies, according to a 1988 study by AAPI Equality Alliance (formerly known as A3PCON - Asian Pacific Policy & Planning Council). In 1986, the United Way of Greater Los Angeles funded only five organizations serving APIs. To raise funds for community organizations serving API communities, APCF initiated employee giving campaigns at various workplaces, including private companies, federal agencies, state agencies, county agencies, city agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

In the past decade, APCF has diversified its fundraising efforts by developing other avenues for giving. With the growth of donor-advised funds, giving circles, grant making, scholarship funds, and capacity building initiatives, APCF has been able to cultivate philanthropy among APIs while providing multiple vehicles for donors to support the community.

As the only community-based fund serving API communities in Southern California since 1990, APCF is dedicated to increasing philanthropy amongst Asian Americans in order to build healthier communities, create a stronger unified voice, and develop leaders. Annually APCF and our 74 Network Agencies serve over 4.9 million people, over 82% of whom live at or below poverty income levels, in 47 API languages in addition to English and Spanish.

Pacific Islanders remain underrepresented in higher education, professional fields, and in the media today. Often limited in opportunities in their home communities, Pacific Islanders need resources and support to pursue higher education, secure professional positions, and access economic opportunities. Now, with the COVID-19 pandemic and its disproportionate effect on Pacific Islanders and other communities of color, these resources are more essential than ever to foster a thriving, inclusive Pacific Islander community rooted in cultural heritage. 

South Pacific Islander Organization (SPIO) is a 100% volunteer and youth-led nonprofit founded in December 2018 by four Stanford alumni who believe in democratizing Pacific Islander access to higher education and economic opportunities, globally. They came together in response to the lack of cohesive Pacific representation in higher education, professional fields, and in the media.

SPIO's current international Advisory Council and Board of Directors leverage a diversity of expertise across government, corporate, higher education, and nonprofit fields which fuel their inclusive, cross-collaborative, and metrics-driven strategic plan.

SPIO's strength lies in its inclusive vision, international network, community-building capacity, digital reach, and online following. Some of their highlights to date include establishing a 501(c)3 within 6 months of incorporation, reaching over 50,000+ organic international website views in 2 years, and launching 6 digital programs accessible worldwide.

Placing hope in the creative capacity of humanity is motivational. It inspired people to explore continents and oceans and led to the construction of the pyramids, cathedrals, and the moon landing. Moreover, this collective belief in a higher goal catalyzed convictions for collective action.

Today, more than ever before in human history, we are interconnected through technology and global problems affecting us all. Climate change, biodiversity loss, and global pandemics are problems crying out for collective action, a call that world leaders have heard in recent years.

As time runs out and the window of opportunity to address some of the significant planetary and existential challenges narrows, we need to do more at the regional and local levels and prick individual consciences. 

Human cultural creativity in art, music, and film can offer this experience at an individual level, combined with innovations in science and technology. It can provide alternatives to the existing 'status quo' through the same collective creative capacity we have been using through the millennia to advance, discover, and live within the boundaries of our planet. 

The Amaranthine Foundation harvests multidisciplinary and creative thinking to address our times' most pressing and challenging issues to achieve a kinder and more livable future for all.
