Help Orphans in Zimbabwe
Children are abandoned every day in Zimbabwe. Zimbakids has a partner organization, Shungu Dzevana, which has been ensuring together with Zimbakids that the orphans, foster or disadvantaged children in the country can go to school until they have their high school diploma. With our support, several hundred orphaned and foster children have been receiving the necessary care, such as housing, food, and education. There is an orphanage with 35 children in Hatfield, close to the capital, Harare that Zimbakids have been supporting. In the various villages near the capital, 400 children have been placed and taken care of in foster homes. The largest concentration of orphanages and foster homes are in Mhondoro, where Shungu Dzeavana also has an agricultural project in a form of chicken and pig farms and vegetable fields. Coming years we would like to expand the agriculture project. It generates an income for the project. Ideally, in the long term, it should help the project to be self-sufficient.
