Syria: To help Zakieh and many families like hers, the ICRC is working in partnership with our partners in the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement to assess and meet the immediate needs of people crossing the border, staying in shelters or being hosted in communities. Our emergency response has been bolstered, allowing the ICRC and its partners to respond effectively to some of the most critical needs, such as water and hygiene, medical care, food, and protection.
With so many global challenges competing for attention and resources, ICRC is committed to shining a light on and addressing the forgotten crises around the world. In a time of polarization and the dehumanization of various groups, including migrants, neighboring communities, and even first aid workers, Red Cross Movement reinforces the basic principle of humanity, especially in the places where it is most essential to keeping Humanity alive.
