**Crimson Courage is a community of Harvard alumni standing up for academic freedom and constitutional rights in higher education.** It was founded to support Harvard’s independence despite financial and other threats from the federal government.

Crimson Courage also endorses academic freedom and freedom of speech; opposes federal efforts to suppress voices, censor vital scholarship, and diminish the presence of varied populations and viewpoints on campus; urges improvements in communication of differing viewpoints and respect among people from different backgrounds; and joins in the urgent advocacy for independent higher education nationally.
