Support the Mt. Sinai team on the frontlines in the battle against COVID-19. The Mount Sinai Health System is an integrated health care system providing exceptional medical care to our local and global communities, primarily serving the greater New York area. 

Encompassing the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and eight hospital campuses in the New York metropolitan area, as well as a large, regional ambulatory footprint, Mount Sinai is internationally acclaimed for its excellence in research, patient care, and education across a range of specialties. The Mount Sinai Health System was created from the combination of the Mount Sinai Medical Center and Continuum Health Partners, which both agreed unanimously to combine the two entities in July 2013.

The Health System is designed to increase efficiencies and economies of scale; improve quality and outcomes; and expand access to advanced primary, specialty, and ambulatory care services throughout a wide clinical network. The Health System includes more than 7,200 physicians, including general practitioners and specialists, and 13 free-standing joint-venture centers. Mount Sinai also features a robust and continually expanding network of multispecialty services, including more than 400 ambulatory practice locations throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester, and Long Island. With an extraordinary array of resources for the provision of compassionate, state-of-the-art care, the Mount Sinai Health System is poised to identify and respond to the health-related needs of the diverse populations we serve.

Kiva addresses these barriers by prioritizing women borrowers, with over 80% of our loans supporting women, and robust programs to help our partners adopt gender-forward policies and products.
- [Refugees and displaced people](https://www.kiva.org/impact/refugees): With over 100 million individuals displaced by conflict and disasters—a number expected to rise—access to capital is crucial for rebuilding lives, yet traditional financial service providers view refugees as too risky. Since 2016, Kiva has extended loans to refugees with a 97% repayment rate, dispelling myths and breaking through systemic barriers.
- [Systemically marginalized communities in the U.S.](https://www.kiva.org/impact/systemically-marginalized-communities)[ystemically marginalized communities in the U.S.](https://www.kiva.org/lp/us-impact): There are significant gaps in capital access for marginalized U.S. entrepreneurs. Since 2011, Kiva has supported 10,000 borrowers (of which 72% are BIPOC) with 0-interest, 0-fee loans. Our data shows that 76% of borrowers could not secure funding elsewhere, highlighting Kiva's role as a critical financial lifeline for small businesses. 
- [Communities impacted by climate change](https://www.kiva.org/impact/climate-affected-people): Climate change hits low-income communities hardest, exacerbating their vulnerability. Kiva supports these communities, particularly smallholder farmers, by providing resources to adapt and build resilience against environmental challenges.

We are fighting for a stronger, better-funded, more integrated approach to mental health and substance use care

Founded in 1969, the National Council for Mental Wellbeing is a membership organization that drives policy and social change on behalf of over 3,100 mental health and substance use treatment organizations and the more than 10 million children, adults and families they serve. We advocate for policies to ensure equitable access to high-quality services. We build the capacity of mental health and substance use treatment organizations. And we promote greater understanding of mental wellbeing as a core component of comprehensive health and health care. Through our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) program, we have trained more than 2.6 million people in the U.S. to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.
