I have encountered the Uhuru Movement only once before, when passing through St. Petersburg in 2011 or 2012.  I had the opportunity to tour the modest neighborhood facilities that Omali Yeshitela and his friends were developing.  

Some would call the Uhuru enterprise Quixotic; I call it noble.  The phrase "All men are created equal" is truer today than it was in Jefferson's day; to accuse the Uhuru Movement, the fruit of a 500-year struggle of African-American people for that truer equality, of being a "Russian Agency" is an insult to all that Humanity and USians should hold sacred.
