Innocent people must be defended and freed. Equal justice for all

I often use the service, and would like the organization to be well structured, and authenticated. 

I gave to Assam Foundation because that organization is helping the under privilege people of North East India 

Works to exonerate innocent people through DNA testing and reform the criminal justice system to prevent injustice.

The Innocence Project was founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University to assist prisoners who could be proven innocent through DNA testing. More than 350 people in the United States have been exonerated by DNA testing, including 38 who pleaded guilty to crimes they did not commit and 20 who served time on death row. The Innocence Project provided direct representation or critical assistance in more than 200 exonerations.   The Innocence Project’s full-time staff attorneys and Cardozo clinic students provide direct representation or critical assistance in most of these cases. The Innocence Project’s groundbreaking use of DNA technology to free innocent people has provided irrefutable proof that wrongful convictions are not isolated or rare events but instead arise from systemic defects. Now an independent nonprofit organization closely affiliated with Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, the Innocence Project’s mission is nothing less than to free the staggering numbers of innocent people who remain incarcerated and to bring substantive reform to the system responsible for their unjust imprisonment.  With the generous support of individuals like you the Innocence Project has exonerated scores of innocent people and worked around the country to reform our criminal justice system. The mission of the Wikimedia Foundation is to empower and engage people around the world to collect and develop educational content under a free license or in the public domain, and to disseminate it effectively and globally.  In collaboration with a network of chapters, the Foundation provides the essential infrastructure and an organizational framework for the support and development of multilingual wiki projects and other endeavors which serve this mission. India Friends Association (IFA) is a Non Profit Organization dedicated to fostering grassroots development in India.


IFA was started in 1993 by a group of Indian Americans in Southern California after the devastating Latur earthquake. Concerned about the red tape and corruption involved in charity work, they wanted to explore direct avenues for sending their support.  The resulting success of this endeavor and the satisfaction received encouraged them to make a long-term commitment.  The group has since evolved in to a solid organization with a well thought out charter and clear philosophy.  Neither a charity nor a debating society, IFA is designed to function as a catalyst in activities that promote economic empowerment and self sufficiency of the most under privileged population of India. Increasingly, it is seen by the diaspora as a vehicle to channelize their energies and resources into bringing about positive change in India.
